"Worst plan." Daimon is out of breath where he crouches behind the rocky outcropping. hiding. Not because he's a coward (though strategic retreat sounds like a great idea right now) but because there's a giant elemental rampaging across the mountain range and he doesn't particularly want it to spot them, again.

He leans back against Loki, mostly because dragons are good for leaning against, if difficult to hide. "Still with me? Claws, tails, wings intact?" Because Daimon is pretty sure he has gravel in places he didn't even know he had... somewhere between the rock slide, the wind storm and the hard fall they probably both looked like they'd taken a trip through a blender.

That's what makes this task annoying.

She's discovered a young dragon in the city (far, far from where he should be, mind you), trapped behind a bin down an alley.
Likely an escaped capture from some illegal trade, Arturia'd bargain, or a fledgeling with no sense of direction.

Arturia isn't the type to kill dragons, however, so she has to smuggle the beast out without letting anyone notice.. and without getting hurt herself.]

[So being the younger brother slash captain of the guard to the crown prince (and, you know, consequently more or less a prince himself, he guesses) means accepting some down-fucking-right exotic loot in his birthday haul. He's figured it's some kind of overlarge parchment-weight. Maybe a decorative object, though it isn't all that much to look at. But Dave was delighted to find that, no matter what, the eggy-loking-thing (sic) is always perfectly warm to the touch, and all winter he's taken to cradling it close to his chest as he sleeps, toasty in his bedchamber.

And then he felt it move inside.

A week of panicked midnight research confirmed it: He's basically been sitting on a real, live dragon's egg all winter. Holy shit. The safe thing to do would be to smash it. Maybe sell it off. Hand it over to his brother and let him deal with it. But with his fingers resting on that warm, rock-solid yet leathery surface, and a glance at the tapestries in his room in their vibrant glory, a storm of reds and greens and blues in flight above the knights in their armor, he thinks, well.

Well...

Dave knows there's a dragon towards the western border that his brother's knights routinely challenge--and routinely fail to root out. He also knows there's a hunt--a regular game hunt for the thawing feast, not one aimed at magic reptilians of any size--going out that way in a few days' time.

In a few days' time, he detaches himself from the party and makes his awkward way up the crag and down into the narrow valley where the dragon's said to lie in wait. He controls his last skid down to the ground and waits there, nervous, one hand on his warm, heavy satchel instead of his sword. He pulls his cowl back and looks around.]

[ Everything is new and strange and all things considered it really isn't as bad as what he's been through already. Compared to the kind of things he had to punch on a regular basis just to survive, this was something he was kind of okay with.

If he didn't change back, though, he knew teacher would get worried about where he was. But. He could handle this himself! He had to handle some things without teacher's help, after all.

He'd been attacked by the more territorial kinds of Grimm, but that was expected. Calculated, even. If this was going to be a new mode for him, he had to train himself.

And that is why there is a massive battle going on with a bunch of large monsters vs a very small, speedy dragon...robot? Cyborg? It has mechanical parts. It's currently occupied with playing 'stay out of range out of the much bigger enemies that look big enough to crush this dragon in one blow'.

And it totally just fired an energy blast out of its claws, that too. Rad. ]

Nah was overjoyed. Okay, sure. It was probably going to cause some trouble if they couldn't turn back from dragon form eventually, but right now it was awesome. Flying everywhere, being enormous, finally getting some respect from her teammates (Inigo and Owain's reactions in particular had been great), and generally just being a dragon all the time was totally great.

There was only one problem. It hadn't just affected her.

[ No one makes prophecies about middle-aged alchemists. It just isn't done. Those sorts of things are reserved for seventh sons of seventh sons, lost princes, elf maids, god-chosen — those sorts of people.

That's what you get with open-ended, nonspecific prophecies that definitely blur the line between traditional and... Not so much. The one-eyed oracle hadn't rhymed or burned incense or gone into a trance. None of it. He'd simply set out and to all outside perspectives recruited six totally random people. A highborn assassin, a blacksmith, a paladin, a common carnival player, a foreign prince (they had to have one of those, that's how stories were), and Bruce. Bruce really ought not to have been there, but nobody listened. Really, nobody did because this party was literally the worst idea ever and not a single person was really a team player. (Except the paladin but everybody saw that one coming.)

And now here they were, achieving their destination against all odds and just inside the dragon's mountainous fortress they've all been separated. ]

[ Rummaging through his Bag of Holding, he feels out a glyph for "sulfurous fungi" and takes it out. A quick shake triggers the chemical reaction and presto, he has light in a glass vial. Not magic but good enough to check what's around this corner as he continues muttering to himself. ]

I could have just taken that job the next county over. A simple lord knight needed military outfitting and what harm could that have done, but no.

[That's the sound of a young woman with a terrible headache slowly awakening on what's probably a hard cavern floor. Or maybe a birdcage, if Olisha prefers to keep her captives in place. But then, one would think they're more fun to toy with if they're running around free.]
