They're just delicious cookies that I wanted to share with my new coworker, and I figure she'd probably share them with you anyway if she was here, hmm?

[Okay. Oh dear. He'd thought he'd gotten over this level of chatter and poking when Magra had gotten out of the fifteen-sixteen range. But here they seem to be again.]

Who wouldn't like working with us? ((She nods happily, snapping the rubber bands in a rhythm as she hums to herself.)) But yes, I do think she enjoys it.

But he's been holding back judgement all the same--as best as he can. A little (and really, it's more worry than judgement) might be leaking out as he sets down Piper's glass of milk.] She just-- can get overwhelmed.

((Oh, right! She fishes the box of cookies out of her bag, opens it, and waves it vaguely in his direction. If he shows any hesitation, she'll just say lightly-)) Just so that you can make sure I'm not going to drug your niece.

And she hasn't seem overwhelmed at all to me. --Well, the first day on the job can be a little overwhelming, but it is for everyone. ((She tilts her head from side to side as she considers it.)) But not any more than normal. We're a cheery bunch, the Chiveses. ((And she might pronounce that 'the Chivesies' because she does what she wants.)) All very positive attitudes and such.

[He will take a cookie, thank you. He will absolutely take it because he absolutely trusts that they are simply delicious coworker cookies.

And he'll eat it here against the counter, chewing thoughtfully before he nods.] Good. She needs that. [Give it a beat.] Thank you.

((He can't not appreciate this delightful tinkle of laughter as she dips her cookie in the glass of milk.)) What are you thanking me for? For being me? How utterly lovely. You're welcome, then. I'll be sure to keep doing that.

I don't really look after her. She does her own thing and she does it quite well. But I could call you up every so often and tell you she's happy, if you'd like that. ((Now for munching on soggy cookie and smiling up at him.))

((Her eyes widen slightly, smile staying on her face.)) You'll have to strike a slightly better deal than that, Cynric. A glass of milk is a one time offer - and you should say more clearly that you expect me to tell the truth.
