While Bruce is enjoying his 3 a.m. meal, this guy comes in with his hood drawn up, a courier bag slung over one shoulder. He pays no mind, sitting in the booth just across the aisle from where the billionaire is sitting. Desmond doesn't even notice him. He's too exhausted from the run that Abstergo Industries' mooks gave him once they found him in the, uh... restricted area of their headquarters. He's not panting, but the rise and fall of his chest indicates he's been running pretty heavily recently.

Desmond orders a coffee when the waitress comes by, staring at the menu but not really reading it. He's too tense, too anxious still. He would have outrun everyone in there, but... Daniel Cross's presence wasn't something he expected. Desmond isn't a big-timer in Gotham. He didn't have Catwoman's... "assets", or Batman's...whatever-he-had-going-on. He's just a freerunner with a knack for getting himself out of trouble. He lives off the radar, not doing anything flashy, and for the most part it works.

But he's on edge. Cross had the same talents as Desmond. And that scares him.

When his coffee arrives, he finally gives Bruce a long glance, either trying to place him, or just now noticing his presence in the diner. Finally he shrugs and takes a long sip of his coffee.

"Pulling an all-nighter too?"

[ it's impossible to miss the incredibly tall, purple-haired boy sitting at the table once he actually sits down. and all right maybe his ears are ringing a bit, and his mind is hazy with alcohol, and he's pretty sure that he walked in here with someone who appears to have vanished now. still, it's an impressive slight that he managed to miss the table's other occupant until there was a menu settled comfortably in his hands.

Uneventful weekends became few and far between since hanging out with Noh and Teddy more than usual lately. Noh had invited some girl back to his ship and Teddy went home early for some little emergency he wouldn't disclose. David suspected it was just to get the two of them to do some bonding. They were on good terms as far as David knew but it always felt awkward when it was just the two of them. Perhaps it was residual guilt?

"I don't even know what I want. If I didn't know any better I'd say my taste buds are too drunk to care either way." he laughed, looking at his menu, but only the pictures. "Nachos? They sell nachos here now?" he questioned loudly, then toned his voice down a little to whisper when some women of questionable moral value walked past them.
