| The konbini... the spot where at 3am, you can find cool air-con in Summer, and humid, oden-smelling warmth in winter... and always some extremely random stuff that you never knew you needed but you absolutely have to buy. Do your grocery shopping, stock up on egg salad sandwiches, stock up on strong zeroes for the late night drinking party, try the dubious looking meat buns on the front counter, or pick up some reading material in the back (while avoiding the dodgy-looking ojisan reading a gravure mag). Whatever the case, you now have the inexplicable urge to run down to the convenience store... and you never know who you might run into. |
