Though these tales vary, one facet is almost always the same: the beastly character always falls in love with the beauty, and the beauty has to learn about the beast's innermost good qualities. And why not? Could the beauty ever fall for the beast on looks alone? They're a beast! ...but what if the beauty fell in love with the beast because of the way they looked? What if the beauty was the one who had to worry about if they were good enough, or if they weren't the right type? And, most importantly, what if the beauty didn't want the beast to ever change?
