Florence Nightingale Effect Meme

1. Previously aloof tough character gets injured, lets the love interest treat their injuries, and reveals a newfound trust and intimacy. This might or might not involve the tough person making that hissing sound when the love interest touches their injured face, but not quite pulling away...

2. The love interest gets injured, and the tough character treats them and suddenly reveals a tender side.

It's an old trope, admittedly, but an understandable one. You're hurt - physically or emotionally - and perhaps even on the brink of death. And then, out of the blue, someone saves you and brings you back. They heal you, they feed you, cloth you, wash you. In the human mind, the intimacies can bring up warm feelings, even in the hardest of hearts. Will you fight them or let them grow? And what about when it's time to leave? You may not feel like leaving your angel...

HOW TO PLAY
1. Comment with your character and preferences. Mention if you'd prefer to play the healer or the healed - or both, for greatest versatility!
2. Reply to others.

NOT EXACTLY PROMPTS, BUT IDEAS
- The finding and saving
- The hurt/comfort care process, I.E. cleaning wounds, bathing, wrapping bandages, etc.
- Feeding, finding clothes, etc.
- Mother hen behavior ("you're still hurt, don't do that!")
- Comforting from trauma
- Unwilling patient
- Pulling away, trying to be all aloof
- Realization of growing emotions
- Denial
- Attempts to instigate something more
- Jealousy at seeing your savior with someone else
- Confessions
- Mutual attraction
- First (accidental or no) kiss
- Obligatory sex scene option
- Make your own scene

The Immortal & Mortal Romance Meme
You'll outlive this person, it's a given. Their lifespan compared to yours is but a speck, an ant in the eyes of a god. You're immortal - or, at least, extremely long-lived - and they're doomed to die. Yet, somehow, you've begun to love them. Will you nip this in the bud and try to cut things out from the root...or will you let yourself be set up for inevitable loss?

how to play;
  • Comment with your character and your preferences (ie, m/f, no smut, etc). Also, be sure to include what part your character will play, otherwise you become nearly impossible to tag.
  • Reply to others.
  • Use my prompts or make up your own.

prompts;
  1. unspoken: There's something between you that is more than platonic, and you both understand it though you've never discussed it.
  2. pursuit: Someone admits their feelings; an attempt at courtship may begin, though what qualifies as "courtship" or "dating" may differ between the two of you.
  3. push them away: You, the immortal, know you'll only watch the mortal die and no matter how you view them, you want them to look for someone better. So you'll try to drive them away from you.
  4. inexperienced experience: Despite your many, many, many years, you actually have no experience in romance...or in sex.
  5. unique show of affection: When you've been on this earth as long as you have, you may have ways to show your love that are beyond the norm.
  6. actually forbidden: Your long-lived race is forbidden from romantically fraternizing with the ones
  7. accept it: Damn all the consequences, you both know the risks. You want to be together.
  8. lovemaking: The obligatory smut option. Is it as you'd expect, or do your differences raise their heads here, too?
  9. differences: Speaking of differences, your cultures and your experiences sometimes clash. Do you work through them and learn from it or does one of you get frustrated?
  10. condescending: Despite your years, it's important to remember to not be patronizing to your partner.
  11. make the most: You only have a limited time together. Make every moment count.
  12. baby mine: The two of you have an offspring. Who do they take more after...and will they have their immortal parent's traits?
  13. come and go: A partner who has lived for centuries or longer may find themselves drifting away or finding they need to keep traveling as they always have, but they know there's always one place and one person they can return to.
  14. i watched you change: You can only watch them grow older and weaker. They may doubt your love now that they are not as young or beautiful as they once were. There is no need for that.
  15. the end of the line: Your love cannot keep them alive, but you will be with them in their last moments.
  16. WILDCARD

The TOOK  YOU  IN Shipping Meme

They were on your front door, in your yard, or on the street, confused and clearly in no position to fend for themselves; in a worst case scenario, they were bruised and battered, possibly close to death. Bleeding heart or not, you can't just be so cruel as to let them suffer. They need a place to stay, and you'll open your home to them...long enough to get back on their feet, anyway.

Speaking of feet, the shoe could be on the other one. You're worse for the wear - in a new place, possibly injured, certainly not in the best state of mind. You could not even remember how you got here or who you are to get here, for that matter. You may not want to remember. Whether willing or not so willing, you're in no position to turn down help, especially if said helper won't take no for an answer. No matter how dedicated you are to looking after yourself, there's only so much you can do in your position.

The two of you are staying together, at any rate. Only for a while, the plan is. But after said while, even though strength and confidence is returning to the injured, there's something a little different between you two. It could be the close quarters, the kindness shown, or a number of things, but quietly, softly, feelings have grown. Could more confusion and hurt spring from this? What about when it's time to go? Can the temporary resident leave as easily as they intended? You're so close now, perhaps a little while longer can't do any harm...

...until whatever it was that put them in such a perilous position in the first place comes back, and there could be "justice" for anyone who's dared to help.

RULES
  • Comment with your character and preferences. Say if you'd rather play the taken in or the person taking them in.
  • Reply to others.

You or your meme partner has been hurt, but don't worry! This time around it's not that bad. You can still limp your way out of this mess.

INJURIES.
1. Sprain/strain. How did you screw up walking?
2. Broken bones. Simple fractures still hurt.
3. Cuts. Hopefully one of you has a sewing kit.
4. Burns. Location, location, location. Let's pray this one isn't on your ass.
5. Concussion. No, they're most likely not holding up fifteen fingers.
6. Other. I'm not a doctor.

HOW'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Stupidity. You did this to yourself.
2. Accident. Is an unintentional attack still an attack?
3. Attack. Don't lie, you deserved it.
4. Other. It's probably still your own fault.

WHERE'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Home. Did you remember to invest in a first aid kit?
2. School/Work. This should be excellent for getting you out of doing stuff!
3. Outdoors. Predators like the smell of blood. Clean up asap.
4. In the water. Hopefully there aren't any sharks!
5. Other. Like a hospital. That'd be handy.
