 Let's face it: you're bad at this whole "romantic affection" thing. Really, that's being generous. You suck abysmally at it. Still, you've found yourself in something resembling a human relationship, somehow, and you feel like you either have or want to show you care. Uhm, congrats. I'm sure this is going to work out well for you! Just kidding. Be it a physical gesture, kind words directed their way, or a gift, you're going to screw this up, most likely. Screw it up badly. Hopefully, they'll be charmed by you at least trying and won't be offended. Fingers crossed.

 BETTER FOR YOU Here's the thing: in the past, you've not been a nice person. Whether you were just a little nasty, you did terrible things, you were forced to be a monster, or your heart was dark to the core, it's understandable why you weren't anyone's favorite. This desire could have been a gradual realization, or you could have suddenly decided one day to improve. In the same vein, you may want a complete overhaul, yet you could also be more realistic and try to work on one thing. Still, you know that you're the only one who can change yourself. In our world, the concept of soulmates is quaint, but frankly antiquidated. But somewhere out there, in the vast cosmos, there is a world that still values this tradition. No, not just values. Society is practically built around it. After all, they've found the powers of the soulmates. When they're together, both halves of the whole can find a peace that is desired by all; not only that, either, but also the two can unlock the. Everyone is believed to have a soulmate, and those who have yet to find there's a sense of emptiness that cannot be filled by other distractions. There are few limits on who can be destined for each other. The fates have often chosen people completely opposite of each other, some even on opposing sides or factions. Attraction between soulmates is instantaneous upon the first meeting, though relationship styles can very. It's almost always romantic, but sometimes not sexual, despite that usually being the case. Some even say that procreation can only be done by soulmates, but that's only a rumor and highly untested. Yet this bond is not always sunlight and rainbows. You'll practically feel each other emotions The problem, of course, comes in finding one (if you even want to at all, as some rebel against the system as much as they can). How many people are out there, and what's the probability of finding them in a lifetime? What if they're not in the same country or even the same planet! There's also the dilemma of having only one soulmate. Though people can have plenty of lovers, those in this world can only find true satisfaction from their other half. It's a twisted and difficult web, and sometimes unmatched people can face prejudice from those around them and the established order, but finding that one special person is said to trump all of that. Bakerstreet is the perfect microcosm for experimentation. This is why an alien race of scientists has set up shop here before taking on the rest of the worlds. What are they doing? It's hard to say whether they're trying to create to perfect, suggestible being or compliant cattle, but one thing's for certain: they're breeding people. Through drugs and serums, (mostly) females will be the mares and (mostly) males the studs of this new race, producing offspring and other much-needed resources such as milk and semen. And how are they getting their test subjects...? |

DATING MEME
Dating is, when you think about, really weird. It's a totally different thing for different people. Some are friends for years before they date; others start dating on the same day they met. Sometimes, there's a lot mushy stuff involved; other times, the couple acts just like friends. None of this is necessarily right or wrong.
Whatever it is, your character and the character you reply to are now dating. How? That's up to you. Whether it be awkward or not, the relationship will be uniquely theirs.
