There's nothing in this world quite like a true, blue best friend that you can rely on. They've been with you through thick and thin, good and bad. You want to have fun? They're the first person you look for, because they always know how to bring the best out in you. You need a shoulder to cry on? Don't worry, they're already here. You need to bury a body? ...you should probably reconsider your priorities, but you know your best friend will be there with a shovel and a smile. You'd never ruin this friendship for ANYTHING in the world.

Something's brewing that may do just that, though. One of you has feelings, has for a long time, and that spells trouble. Unless you keep that to yourself and remain platonic, of course. Repression in this case might be a good thing.

Only it's too late. The cat's out of the bag, whether it's by confession or by accident. What to do, what to do? If feelings aren't returned, can you turn down a friend, or will you force something that isn't there just to make them happy? If feelings are returned, will you risk changing the perfect thing you have?

Comment with your character, canon, preferences, and which side you may want to play. IE, the one with feelings, etc. Also, mention if you'd like things to be more fluffy or more tragic.
Respond to others. Assumed CR and AU it up if need be.

Everyone has hopes and aspirations for the future, in some shape, fashion, or form. The dedicated may call them dreams or goals; the extremely dedicated will call it "certainty." Even if you have no thoughts at all or at the very least no thoughts about anything aside from the here and now, you at least have some idea of where you won't be days, months, or years from now. For some, there's even a plan about who they'll be with romantically. That's not too strange, right? Sometimes, you just know, whether it's a childhood friend, a longtime significant other, a crush...

...or no one at all because you're a hard, blackened shell incapable of love.

Of course, as with all paths in life, like friendships and true callings, relationships aren't always cut and dry. That person you were so sure you'd end up with? Well, it didn't work out. Perhaps they found someone else, you two just broke up, they didn't like you in that way, what have you. But you aren't alone - in fact, the person you actually have now is like you'd never imagined. Whether you just met them or they've always been, against all odds you two are an item. They could be completely different from you and against your type, making it all the stranger you are where you are. They could be a fellow reject like you who found solace in a second choice. Don't worry, despite the baggage surrounding the concept, second choices can be the better one all along!

And as for you blackened, hard shell? It's not hard for a love to be unexpected for you, since you never expected to feel at all.

Whatever you case may be, how do you feel about it? Are you still reeling from shift? Secure with this new path? Jealous of old feelings?

Massage Meme

Everyone could use a good massage now and again right? Well it's time to let you characters lay back and relax-- or maybe treat someone else to a little skin therapy. ;) Break out the oils and scented candles, it's time for a good rub down.

How to play:
❧ POST with your character (list their name & canon in the subject if you please)
❧ Others can reply giving the massage or recieving it.
❧ Use RNG to pick from the numbers below, or pick your numbers, or make something up!
❧ Have fun!

Type

001. Shoulder and Neck - the basic of the basic. Perhaps a strained shoulder, been sitting too long at their desk. Or maybe something even more strenuous. However, it's time to work out all those accumulated kinks.

002. Foot - It's time to give those yapping dogs a rest and treat them to a little TLC.

003. Hand - Hey don't forget about the hands, overworked constantly they could use a bit of a break.

004. Arm - Time to loosen up a bit and rub out those arm muscles.

005. Leg - Perhaps you're looking for something a bit more specific and intimate. Calve massage? Thigh? It's your choice.

006. Back - Considered a coup de grace of massage, the back massage, when done right, can bring extreme relief to those who receive it.

007. Scalp - Wanna feel those tingles down your spine? Maybe a little oil to help add health to the hair?

Despite the romanticism surrounding the emotion, it can be difficult to be loved completely — not just the beautiful parts of us, but also the sad parts, the injured parts, the hidden and less-than-pleasant parts. There are marks on us, both physical and mental, that we'd often rather forget. The mental ones can just be easier to hide. As for physical scars, they can be off of our minds some of the time, but that's exceedingly hard to do in more intimate, close moments.

Whether it's to your dismay or otherwise, your partner is not looking away and ignoring your scars. To the contrary, they're providing attention in a way most heavily associated with tenderness: kissing. It may be an accidental slip off target, or they may be trying to show you that what you've done and who you've been don't matter to them now.

Does the gesture touch you? Make the walls come up once again because of the memories that are dredged from somewhere you'd rather no go? A mixture of both?

The wound has long closed, yet the pains remains; these days, however, there's someone who may be willing to help you bear it.

Reply with the usual: canon, character, preferences, et al. You may also want to say if you're down for smut or not, since it's not a given.
Be sure to include what side you'd like your character to play. Mention if you can do both the kisser and the kissed.
Also, feel free to talk about your character's scars.

THE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES MEME

Video games. We love 'em. You love 'em. Let's play 'em. ...That's all there is to it, yep.

1.) Post with your character.
2.) When you reply to someone, roll from the options below.
3.) Play the game. Feel free to pick a specific one if you want, or make up your own random-ass game.
4.) Try not to break the console.

OPTIONS:

1. Dating Sim (eg. Tokimeki Memorial, Katawa Shoujo): Basically obligatory in these sorts of memes. But remember, it's not just about picking whether to stick it in or not! It's also about making sure you don't slack off too much in your studies and workout, you lazy ass.

2. Japanese RPG (eg. Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Tales of): Saving the world one scripted overdramatic event after another. Grind those levels!

3. Western RPG (eg. Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Wizardry): Gotta go save the world! ...After I get the rats out of the cellar, and take this scroll to the next city over, and try to find three artifacts for the archeologist at the camp...

4. Management Sim (eg. Evil Genius, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Simcity): I don't know what you're talking about. Having a roller coaster that launches people into orbit is perfectly legitimate park design.

5. Beat'em'up (eg. Final Fight, River City Ransom, God Hand): PUNCH 'EM ALL AND LET GOD SORT 'EM OUT. Try not too eat too many street chickens.

6. First Person Shooter (eg. Doom, Medal of Honor, Half-Life 2): No John you ARE the demons. And then John was a demon. Oooh, motion sickness...

7. Adventure Game (eg. The Walking Dead, Monkey Island, King's Quest): I'm pretty sure that porcelain cat is SOMEHOW important in getting the guard to let you into the club, but how?

8. Platformer (eg. Super Mario Bros, Rayman, I Wanna Be the Guy): Where do all those pits actually drop you, anyway?

9. Strategy (eg. Starcraft, Civilization, Total War): zerg rush kekekekekekeke

10. Survival Horror (eg. Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Dead Space): ...but isn't this what 75% of Dreamwidth RPs are ANYWAY?

11. Puzzle (eg. Puyo Puyo, Chu Chu Rocket, 2048): Yeah, I apologize if that last example is giving anybody withdrawal symptoms right now.

12. Fighting Game (eg. Street Fighter, Tekken, King of Fighters): ARE YOU KEN? ARE YOU KEN? SURE YOU'RE KEN!

13. Shoot-em-up (eg. Gradius, Touhou, Tyrian): Suddenly, there were bullets! Eeeeeeeeeverywhere!

14. Metroidvania (eg. Metroid, Symphony of the Night, La Mulana): Leaving rooms tantalizingly out of reach until you get the right item for years.

15. Classic Arcade (eg. Frogger, Pac-Man, Lunar Lander): Where pretty much the only thing that matters is the points you get and how few quarters you use to get them.

16. Sports (eg. Tecmo Bowl, NBA Jam, Mario Kart): Because why get fresh air when you can sit on your butt and make touchdowns?
