THE BAKERSTREET DRESSING ROOM MEME I

Welcome, newcomer, to the Dressing Room.

One moment you're one place, and the next, you're here. Its a force of nature disguised as a futuristic, luxurious building, with no limit to how many people may be in it. Nor will you want for food, clothing or shelter - or really anything. Merely think of it, and it is yours.

Unfortunately, there's two tiny caveats. One, you're going to be here a while. Two, you'll have to share the space with the other people brought in.

Thus, hilarity ensues.

Last night, everything seemed normal - or as normal as things ever get for you, anyway. You went to sleep in your own room, motel, barracks, tent, van, alleyway, or whatever. If you don't have a biological need for sleep, you were recharging, meditating... or maybe you were awake to see what happened to you. There was a beam of blinding light, the sensation of floating, and then you were somewhere else.

Now you're the captive of a group of weird, alien beings from another planet, realm, or dimension. Stranger still, you're not alone in your captivity. What do you do?

THE RULES

1. Post your character, their canon, and your RP preferences. Don't just leave your intro post blank; describe your character waking up in this strange place and reacting to their surroundings.

2. Tag other posters. This person may be your only ally in this bizarre place, so here's hoping you get along! Characters can be from the same canon or setting and abducted together, or they can be from wildly different worlds (because these are very well-traveled alien captors). Or maybe one of you is the alien captor!

3. Pick your favorite scenario, come up with your own idea, or go for a spin on the Random Number Generator. Play it out, and have fun!

4. Be mindful of potential triggers (this is an alien abduction, after all!), respect others' preferences, and generally be nice to each other (OOC, anyway :3).

The Crack Pairing Meme

An unusual relationship of any kind of fandom (i.e. books, television shows, movies, ect.) that is unlikely to happen.

OR

Randomly take two characters… they don’t have to know each other, they don’t have to show ANY signs of a relationship, and hook them together. That is a crack pairing.

We all know them. Fandoms have fostered these little gems of shipping since the early days, and now, they can even be serious contenders in even the most hostile of shipping wars. Maybe they're absolutely ridiculous and only "for the lulz." Perhaps they make perfect sense...if you squint. Whatever the case may be, these so-called "crack" pairings are not canon and they're nowhere near as popular in fandom as the big fanon pairings.

Most of the time.

Of course, it's important to note that a lot of the time in RP, pairings are always crack pairings. Especially crossover ships, which canon purists would deride purely for being impossible. Still, in memes, that's less likely to happen because people either stick with canon ships, fanon ships, or close CR because of the lack of opportunities for development that games offer.

Not here. This meme is for ALL your ridiculousness, all your high school fangirl dreams, and just plain not being sorry for your ships. Think these characters would be cute together? Go for it. That character have adorable icons and that all you know about them? Ship it, by all means. Here, the reasons come after the desire.
