Everyone loves to give gifts, right? Whether it's for a birthday, Christmas, a wedding shower, or a housewarming gift, it's time to get caught up in the spirit of love, joy, and generosity. Not all gifts are very nice, though. Someone might make you brownies while you're on a diet, or you'll get a gift card to someplace you've never even heard of. And then there are these gifts, the gifts so horrible no one should ever give them...

But for some reason? You just received one. Good luck with that, and try to survive the occasion!

Rules:
1. Post your character and list any preferences you have
2. Use a random number generator to pick a scenario (1 - 5) and a gift (1 - 20) to decide what you're getting! Or...
3. ...Wait for someone to reply and just plot it out. Go nuts!
4. Play nice and have fun. Respect people's preferences and all that.
5. Consider rule 5 a trigger warning? Some of this stuff might be uncomfortable, so please be clear about what you do/don't want!

Your characters have been trapped in a strange but comfortable room, with a big desk and couch, and now have to spend some time either talking about their problems or listening to other people's problems and trying to give good advice. Both is fine, too.

The room itself will compel them to at least try to play those roles, and will only release them after they do what it wants them to do.

The problems can be silly or serious, deep or shallow, it's all up to you.

1. Small but still sucky problems that are just bothersome- They've gotten bad grades at school, they have a bad hair day, they fought with a friend about something really silly, etc etc.

2. Love, relationships and family problems - They're fighitng with their SO, they think their spouse might be cheating on them, they have Mother/Father Issues, their siblings are their worst enemy, etc etc.

3. Lifechanging problems - They flunked out of school, they find out they have superpowers, they find out they are the only one who can pilot a super robot, etc etc.

4. 'Our world as we know it is in danger' type problems - The Dark Lord is raising and is trying to take over their world, they have zombie problems, the Evil Space Empire is coming for their planet, their experiments with time travel ended up unraveling reality, etc etc.

5. Work related problems - They have to deal with the boss from hell, how are they supposed to defend the Earth with all those budget cuts, etc etc

6. Money problems - They have to deal with budgeting, inheritance problems, etc etc. Or maybe they just can't afford that fancy car...

7. Trauma related problems - Something bad happened to them, be it the deaths of important people or being trapped in a warzone or anything else, and they have to deal with the resulting trauma.

8. Really cracky problems - I hate my superheroine uniform, my brother always chews my slippers when he turns into a werewolf and I wish he'd stop, etc etc.

1. Post as your character. (Please write down the name and canon/fandom of the character in the subject line, and also if they're canon, AU, crossover or OC, etc.)

2. Please choose your character's role - Therapist (Counsellor) or Client - and set the first scene. Setting the scenes for both is fine, too. (It is also all right for the characters to take turns being the therapist and the client, if that's what you want to do)

Fiction often thrives on the conflict of groups not getting along. The funny thing is, half the time those groups don't even know why they dislike each other. This can lead to hilarity, tragedy, or the often romanticized doomed lovers.

In this meme, characters have been divided (by themselves or by society) into factions loosely based on medium types. What started this whole affair? Who knows? All that's obvious is there's bad blood on all sides.


one. This meme is cross-medium. That means tagging characters from a different medium/origin. In example, video game characters can tag characters from comic book, live action sources, anime, etc. For clarity, western animation and anime will be considered different mediums for this meme.

4. Friends in enemies' clothing. You have a friend on the other side, but the climate keeps you from broing it up. Meet in secret and hang out, even if it's risky.

5. Do you bite your thumb at me, sir? Hey, look! It's somebody from the rival side. Looks like they're mocking you. This means war, you know. Fight, fight, fight!

6. Kill Bill. That other faction somehow wronged you, and now you want revenge. Maybe it's closer than you think...

The Bittersweet Love Meme


Happy endings are what we crave, right? If we see a couple we like in movies or in real life, we root for them to make it. Why, then, is there such a desire to see love that's tragic, doomed, or bittersweet? People watch sad movies like Titanic, and they know what will happen, but somehow that makes it more poignant. This goes all the way back to tales like Romeo and Juliet. There's just something about a good cry that makes us feel that much more human and even more receptive of beauty.

This meme is equal parts tragedy and beauty, sweet and bitter. Some prompts may be triggering, so tread with caution.

And there's someone in the bed with you. Are they male, female, or otherwise? A total stranger, or an old lover? Older than you, or younger than you? Well, no matter who they are, even if you would never dream of it otherwise, you're suddenly filled with an urge to have sex with them. Right here, right now. And so are they, so that should work out just fine.

Let's be real. Sometimes, you just want to play smut. Good old Porn Without Plot has a certain appeal, right? Other times, you just want to throw two characters together, but you're worried about how they would actually get to the deed or if they would even do it. Well, this meme takes out all the hassle. Let's indulge in some shameless smut.

Once upon a time, in a far away place just the other side of a shadow, there was a castle where an unthinkable amount of evil deeds were committed. The land became cursed and it became both a source and a point of attraction of all the world's darkness. Time and again the castle would be taken control of by a wicked being with sinister intentions, calling to arms heroes of the age to save the world. Those that failed were drawn into evil. Those that succeeded were hailed as the saviour of the world. From the ancient past to the modern day, the cycle will repeat so long as evil exists.
