 The Supernaturally Co-Dependent Meme

Telepaths hear the thoughts of others. Empaths feel the emotions of others. In this universe, strong telepaths and empaths are paired together to hunt down evil things that roam the Earth. While the telepath can locate monsters masquerading as human by peering into their thoughts, the very act of plunging oneself into the psyche of a monster is dangerous. It can make a telepath go mad, or simply shut down in self-defense. Empaths are tasked with recognizing when their partners are going too deep into another's mind and pulling them back to themselves, protecting them and keeping them sane. Telepath and Empath partners usually grow very close when working together, but sexual relationships between them are still considered taboo. Still, that doesn't mean that such relationships don't happen. Just that they're often kept secret.

Meme Rules

1. Post with character. In subject heading put name, canon, and designation (telepath or empath).

2. Develop a scene. For example, it could be the first time meeting your partner, or the middle of a hunt, or one of the characters is hurt and needs help, or maybe they are doing bonding exercises.

3. Respond to others.

the "should never be together" meme.
When two people come together in a relationship, it's a beautiful thing. What can be wrong with love, right? Right? Except when the union is completely and totally wrong, for whatever reason. Then things can get a little messy.

How To Play
1. Comment with your character, listing their name, canon, etc, along with any preferences.
2. Comment around to others, using the RNG to determine the scenario. It doesn't have to be a lovey-dovey relationship, obviously. There can be hate, sorrow, lust, whatever.
3. Thread! Have fun! Do things!

Scenarios
1. Warring Factions: You belong to rival organizations, armies, clubs, etc. Whatever it is, you're not on the same team.

2. Soldiers on the Battlefield: Or maybe you are on the same side, but this is the wrong time and the wrong place. Plus, attachments cause distractions.

3. Bodyguard and the Guarded: Just like the movie with Kevin Costner! One of you has been hired to protect the other for some reason, and feelings are starting to grow. Are you a professional and cut things off, or do you give in?

4. Prince/ss and Knight: Similar to the above, but with a whole 'nother level of wrong...one of you is royal. Courtly love is okay; still, don't forget your place.

5. Enemies: This vendetta is personal, and you totally hate this person! Don't you? Perhaps you're maybe just rivals, or something as serious as superhero and villain.

6. Family: The ultimate taboo. This person is related to you, so there's no way you should indulge this desire, even if it's the most pure love there ever was.

7. Age Difference: The years between you should keep you both at bay, but it's easier said than done.

10. Teacher/Student: Teachers and students have a unique bond, and to corrupt it is a dangerous thing. Will you dare to act on emotions that could put you both in a destructive place?

11. Already Spoken For: One or both of you are already involved with someone else, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Just know that you can't have your cake and eat it, too.

12. Not Compatible: Your personalities or jobs make it so it's hard for you to be together.

13. Not Compatible...in Another Way: You're both different species, which means you're either afraid to take your relationship to a physical level or you can't because of differences in biologies.

14. Not Ready for Love: You took a vow (or celbacy, of chastity, of dedication), you're married to your work, or you just don't want to be involved with anyone. Too bad!

15. Rich and Poor: One of you has the money while the other is from more modest means. Can the 1% and the 99% ever be bedfellows, literally?

16. Hurt Before: Your heart has been broken, and maybe there's been no time to heal. But here you are.

17. WILDCARD

Time at hand
Everyone has a timer imprinted on their wrist from the day they're born. It maybe a quirk of genetic engineering, it may be a technological implant, it might just be the way things have always been, that's up to you.

For the purposes of this meme there are two types of timers, Life and Love.

You can have one, you can have both, that's up to you too, you can have a different one in every thread, I'm not going to be that bossy. You can use the RNG or you can just pick, or mix and match, be creative!

Descriptions and options under here )

You know how this works - put your name and canon in the subject line. If you have any preferences they go in the text box.

the i n s o m n i a meme

It happens to everyone - sometimes, you have nights where you just can't fall asleep, no matter what you do. It could be for a number of reasons, or no reason at all. And this is what's happened now: you've been laying in bed for what feels like hours, just tossing and turning, and nothing seems to help. So what's left to do? Get out of bed and go wake someone else up, of course. If you're not getting any sleep, then why should they?

i n s t r u c t i o n s

Post with your character (note the name and fandom in the subject).
Other people reply to you by generating a number from 1 to 10.
• Have fun!

o p t i o n s

01 • FEAR. Maybe you're hearing strange, indeterminable noises; maybe there's a severe storm happening outside; maybe you watched a scary movie before bed? Whatever the reason, you're terrified and it's keeping you awake. You just want to wake someone else up so they can protect you from the monster in your closet.
02 • HUNGER. Your stomach is growling and it just won't stop. Or perhaps your throat is so dry you could cough up a tumbleweed? Well, you've gone to the kitchen to remedy this and hey, that was a pan that just dropped on the floor. It was loud enough to wake the dead! Oops.
03 • PAIN. Your body is completely worn out, be it from exercise, battle, sickness, or what have you. Either way you're in enough pain to keep you from sleeping, so maybe someone else has a home remedy or something, or can at least help you take your mind off of it.
04 • SOLITUDE. For some reason, your bed just feels so empty at the moment. You're feeling terribly lonely and really just want someone to keep you company for a while. Maybe it'd be easier to fall asleep if you're with them...
05 • DISCOMFORT. Your room is an oven. Either that or a freezer. Or maybe this bed is just really uncomfortable? Who knows why you can't get to sleep, it feels like it could be anything. Why even bother trying? Maybe someone else can preoccupy you until you feel tired enough to ignore your discomfort.
06 • PENSIVE. Something's on your mind, and no matter how hard you try to focus elsewhere, it's just not going to work. Your body may be tired, but your mind is incredibly busy and it's virtually impossible to get to sleep. Surely, talking it out with someone else will help?
07 • SADNESS. Something terrible has happened that day, perhaps; or you could just be severely depressed. Either way you're trying your hardest not to cry yourself to sleep, and it's not working at all. Better find a way to get it out of your system somehow; you need a shoulder to cry on.
08 • ANGER. You are just... fuming. Who knows why - that annoying dog is barking again, or maybe the people next door are getting busy and keeping you awake. Whatever the reason for your ire is, you'd better put an end to it so you can get some damn rest already! Go wake up a friend so you can complain to them.
09 • RESTLESS. You're far too energetic to sleep right now. Maybe you're just trying to do so out of necessity - you have to be up early tomorrow! But you just don't think you'll be able to fall asleep for a while now, so why waste the time trying to sleep when you could be doing something else? Namely bothering someone else - you're totally jealous because they're getting more sleep than you.
10 • WILDCARD. Choose one of the options above, or make up your own scenario.

The Secret Sudden Surprise Shipping Meme
Say that three times fast.

Let's face it, some of us in the RP world are shippers. Heck, you might not even be big on shipping, but you might be suddenly struck by an awesome dynamic! Sometimes... well, sometimes, we're struck by secret ships -- ones you'll never admit because of one reason or another! Or a sudden ships. Who cares if they've only got one thread going, it's already clear they're going to be cute! Or the ever popular surprise ship! Woah, you didn't see that one coming, but now you're shipping hard ball and it's like a whirlwind romance in a black and white backdrop. And the kicker? It's not always any of your characters!

What is this meme, you may ask? I shall gladly explain it to you!

This is an anonymous, OOC meme, where players anonymously admit their secret/surprise/sudden/anythingelse ships!! Ships certainly do not have to include their own characters, because stalking your friends or people you don't even know is half the fun! Or, they totally can!

What you do:
Comment to the post with your handle in the subject line! If you're on the down-low with a character, feel free to leave it vague/make something up!
In the body of your post, list your games (if in any) and your characters! Again, if you're on the DL, just use the one character or make a sock or... whatever you wanna do!
Anonymously, others will reply to you with their secrets, ships, confessions, etc! Keep it anonymous, guys!! Half the fun of this is making whoever you respond to crazy with curiosity and getting stuff off your chest! But keep it honest :)
Additionally, participate in the games and canons threads!
Have fun and be excellent to each other.

The Other-Wordly Meme

Words are magical things; they can have so many lovely connotations and varied histories.
Words have family trees just like people. They are linked to each other.
Some words are full of flavor and color and describe things you never suspected there were words for.
Words are why we're here.

The meme is simple: post a comment with your muse's name and canon in the subject line.
List any preferences you may have ("No Shipping," "No Smut," etc.), if you decide to leave the next step up to responders.
Responders (or original posters, if they so decide), go to the Other-Wordly blog and hit 'Random' until you get a word. Use the word as a prompt for an RP scenario. Do this several times, if you like. Mix and match. Have fun with it!
Don't stop with a word, though! Words can often have etymologies that are at odds with their current meanings. Words can shift connotations over time. Let your imagination carry you with the words as its wind.
