The Bittersweet Love Meme
(part 2)

Happy endings are what we crave, right? If we see a couple we like in movies or in real life, we root for them to make it. Why, then, is there such a desire to see love that's tragic, doomed, or bittersweet? People watch sad movies like Titanic, and they know what will happen, but somehow that makes it more poignant. This goes all the way back to tales like Romeo and Juliet. There's just something about a good cry that makes us feel that much more human and even more receptive of beauty.

This meme is equal parts tragedy and beauty, sweet and bitter. Some prompts may be triggering, so tread with caution.

How to Play
- Comment with your character, preferences, etc.
- Comment to others.
- Roll the RNG to determine which scenario to play out.

Dreams of Paradise

Dreams are wonderful things to have, they give us hope, they motivate us, they make us who we are. But sometimes our subconscious twists those dreams, taunts us with things long past, gives us things we can never have. What happens when the dream becomes reality? When you no longer know what is waking and what is sleeping? Is this world the fantasy? Or is it your dreams that are real?

How To:
  1. Post your character's name & canon in the subject line. You may want to start with a scenario already set up or you can let others do the set up.
  2. Others go to RNG and roll a scene.
  3. Then comment on your post! Characters can know it's a dream or they can think everything is real. But if it's real then do they remember how things used to be? How they should be?
  4. Respect each other and bear in mind some of these prompts might need a little plotting before you can dive into things.
Options:
  1. Happily Ever After- The danger is passed, the big bad is defeated, everything is settling back into a normal routine. Bad things happened but the days ahead promise to be full of happiness.
  2. Utopia-This is how the world should be. At least according to the dreamer. They may be in bliss but perhaps for the visitor to this dream it's nothing short of a nightmare.
  3. Too Good to be True- Things are so wonderful here... so what's the catch? Surely if everything worked out this well something has to be about to go wrong. Here the shadows all seem a little too deep, the lighting a little sinister. Maybe it's you're imagination but it's only paranoia if no one's hunting you.
  4. Careful What You Wish For-It's all you've ever wanted. Just this one thing that would make everything in your world complete. But did you really think those consequences through? Is this really the way the world is supposed to be?
  5. The Price of Greatness- Well it's what you wanted, sure, but you definitely did not want what came with it. You got your paradise but the cost was far too high. Can't you just go back to how things used to be?
  6. Is This Real?- Everything is so surreal, surely this can't be happening. Even you, the dreamer, can't believe things could actually work this way. It's too picturesque... in fact it's almost creepy. Stepford creepy.
  7. Or Just a Fantasy?-The world you know is just a dream. This world, whatever it may be, is the real world. Everything you remember of your life up until now is nothing but an elaborate fantasy.
  8. Perceptive Reality-It may not be perfect but it's definitely a hell of a lot cooler than the world you used to know. Whatever you were doing before bed has skewed your dreams, be it reading a book, playing a video game, or just letting your imagination run wild. You are now in someone else's canon. And you've always been there.
  9. Paradise Lost-Once upon a time this place may have been beautiful, magnificent and wondrous, but now it is fallen into ruin and all you are faced with is the decay of what you once held dear.
  10. Wild card- Mix and match or make up your own~

Everyone has baggage. What's yours?

• Post with your character. Include name, series and preferences in the title.
• In the comment, list three things your character considers baggage. Per Urban Dictionary, baggage is "the shit people go into relationships with."
• Characters replying state whether or not they can deal with the baggage listed. If they can, they get to post a baggage of their own. The OP then gets to decide if they can deal with that.
• OR do whatever you want. Discuss said baggage, laugh, ask questions, be horrified, throw a party, whatever.
• Some baggage might be triggering.

Idea from anon here.
