[even though Rattmann is no longer an Unspeakable, he still has to return to the Ministry periodically. it was part of the deal struck with Hogwarts to keep him out of Mungo's, but that didn't mean he had to like it. the place made him panicky now, the flow of apathetic people with their deafening chatter too much on his fragile mind. everything about the Ministry made him want to run run run away. especially on days like these, when he had to go down to the floor where the Department of Mysteries resides.

he lurks behind a corner for a moment, waiting to spy the nearest uninhabited lift. once it's located he practically sprints into it...and jostles right into Bruce, who had been hidden from sight thanks to Rattmann's former position. he tenses, shoots back, looks to dash out the door again - but the gates have already closed and his fate is sealed.

She cares little that most of her efforts take her to Knockturn Alley, stumbling into crazy old witches who performed one or two dark curses too many.
