[SO. I was so excited to see a Jesus that my mind went completely blank on any ideas on what to do here. AU where Judas doesn't hang himself (when he does, at least,) and visits Jesus at the cross or some...thing? Or Judas could be the dying one! I'm pretty easy but also bad at ideas.]

[He hadn't been alone around Katherine much since she and Vincent started dating. It was either both of them together, or drinking with Vincent and the others at the Stray Sheep. Tonight was an oddity, but being called out by Katherine wasn't an opportunity Jonny was about to pass up, even if he had an idea as to why she was calling him. His guess had turned out right: she wanted an ear to listen to about relationship problems, someone close to Vincent who might provide insight she wasn't getting.
It took a lot to keep his tongue in check, and that was the worst part of it. Of course he cared for Vincent - the guy was his best friend, and Jonny would never say otherwise, despite the comments he'd make now and again. And Katherine was his girl. But hearing Vincent waffling over things, and to hear Katherine's unhappiness tonight... it grated. And Jonny couldn't help that, either. He loved Katherine, and those emotions wouldn't be fading anytime soon, not that he could see.
Still, he held his tongue. Offered gentle but honest advice, managed to keep it from skewing toward the idea of breaking them up. It was about all he could do. He might have to deal with these feelings, but he wasn't going to fall so far as to screw things up for his own selfish purposes. He wasn't going to be that kind of person. He'd just... have to deal with it, until either he could move on, or...
Better not to think about it like that.
But things happened when you were out late at night, like getting held up by some desperate kid. A desperate kid with a gun, sure, but Jonny could see how nervous he was, wild-eyed and hands shaking as he demanded their money. He obviously didn't want to hurt them, but something had driven him to this. It shouldn't be hard to take him, Jonny thought.
He was wrong.
By the time Jonny realizes what's happened, can put a hand over the wound in his chest, the kid's already run off, leaving his gun behind him.]

[Katherine. Did he hit Katherine? She'd been behind him, was the gun powerful enough to pass the bullet through him? He tries to turn, to check, but his vision swims with the movement and all that happens is him winding up on his knees.]

[the last few months have been...hard. wonderful, but hard. they hadn't had much in the way of time once raleigh got his diagnoses, and at first, they'd gone out and done everything they could think of while raleigh was still healthy enough to go for it.
they traveled the world, ate amazing food, saw spectacular sights, and, above all, cherished each other.
it would have been the perfect kind of honeymoon, if not for the looming reality of the illness raleigh was living with. he'd refused treatment (something roy had thought insanely stupid, but that was a battle he'd given up on ages ago), and now the cancer was finally catching up to him.
roy could always see how painful it was, how strong raleigh tried to be, but roy just felt completely helpless, because what was he supposed to do? he couldn't magically cure raleigh (though he'd looked up a few friends who might have had an answer for him, but what they'd all said was the same: death is a cruel master, and he takes what he wants. you cannot cheat him.).
roy knows everything, everyone dies, but death was never a particularly pleasant thing in the navajo culture. it was a fact of life, certainly, but hardly celebrated, and while roy had been raised on their concept of the afterlife, he wasn't sure he liked it much.
it was just...nothingness.
he'd been sure not to share that with raleigh, just because there was no reason to discuss those morbid beliefs, and roy wasn't sure he'd be able to uphold them anyway; crying wasn't encouraged, but dear god, roy knew he was going to cry. there's no way he could lose raleigh without being a complete and total emotional mess.
and now they're here, the end of the line, and roy hasn't left raleigh's side for a second, because he can't stand the idea of being without him.
