The Crossover Blind Date Meme

The universe has a funny way of bringing people together. Some twists of fate bring together two individuals that might have never met otherwise. Some of those twists are called blind dates.

And this time, matchmakers are going multiversal.

THE RULES:

1. Post with your character! They're now in the middle of a blind date.
2. Comment to each other! Remember, this is a crossover meme. No castmates!

[Dick was pretty certain this was a terrible but idea but Babs had insisted, this guy was perfect, she had said, great sense of humour and loved movies, she was sure Dick would get along great with him. Dick just wasn't sure he was ready for someone else yet, but Babs had glared at him until he agreed, so he sat in the restaurant, glancing up every time the door opened.]

*Tony was running late, but what's new. He had spoken to Babs a few times to try and get some tips, but of course Babs just smiled and told Tony to just be himself and Dick would love him. So of course he had change outfits 8 more times than he should of, went with the first combination he picked out and rushed to the restaurant. He opened the door, took off his sunglasses and scanned the room for the mystery man.*

[Dick was (prematurely) starting to worry about getting stood up when someone walked in and seemed to be looking around. He sort of matched the description Babs had given him, but Dick hadn't expected him to be that...well, hot... (stop it Dick, it's too soon...) He slid off his barstool and headed over to the entrance]

Are you...Tony?

*Tony was a little startled, but offered the cute guy in front of him a charming smile.* That I am, and you must be Dick. Babs has told me a lot about you, well that's a lie, but oh well, um wow i'm rambling, so i'm gonna stop. Yes. hi. I'm Tony. *he says taking a breath and extending his hand*

[Dick couldn't help but smile a little, he was definitely no stranger to people who rambled. He seemed nice, not as grouchy as... he wasn't going to think about that. He takes the hand and flashes a charming smile of his own]

Nice to meet you. I'm glad Babs hasn't told you much, she probably wouldn't say anything good [laughs] shall we get a table?

Table sounds great. *he says pulling off his jacket.* This place seems nice. Is it one of your favorites? *he asked looking around the restaurant as they waited for the hostess to finish with the party in front of them.*

I've been here before, they do great food [He's all casual, but it's actually because he deliberately came and checked it out. Most of his favourite places are still a bit too painful to go to, so somewhere new was needed, but years of training even leaks into civilian life and he'd felt the need to scout it out beforehand.]

Well i love great food! *he said with a huge grin watching the other for any signs, his work practices leaking into his everyday life as well.* Table for 2 please, preferably by the window if you have one. *he says and winks at the hostess who giggles and blushes and shows them to the table. He sits down and is feeling very smug with himself right now and lets out a little chuckle.* Works every time. *he says looking out of the window where the view stretches out over a grassy bank before leading down to the river.*

[So, he's a flirt... Dick can't really complain, he knows he's a terrible flirt himself. Still, he wasn't going to get off scot free]

Do you always flirt with waitresses when you're on a date?

*His mouth drops open a little bit, a slight worried chill makes his way up his spine as he looks at the man sitting across from him.*

I...uh...um....no...i wasn't...you know....uhh...

*For once Tony couldn't find words, he was only trying to get them a table by the window.*

[Watches him with a raised eyebrow for as long as he can keep a straight face, which isn't that long. He grins]

I'm teasing you. It's a good table, worth a little bit of flirting.

*Tony is relieved and he laughs.*

Man don't do that to a guy! You had me seriously worried that I had already fucked up.

*he said shaking his head but giving him a little smile as well, as he picks up the bread basket and offers it to Dick first.*

[Laughs himself, taking a piece of bread. So, he was a gentleman too, definitely points in his favour]

Don't worry, you're doing fine [winks]

*He smiles to himself and drops his gaze to the bread basket to try and hide the blush. Usually no one could ever make Tony shut up or get nervous, what was it about this guy?*

Sooo tell me about you? What do you do?

[Oh I dress up in spandex and fight crime.. yea, that wasn't going to go over so well. Definitely not a first date revelation. That part, at least, was so much easier with... NOT thinking about that]

I was a cop for a while, but these days I'm not doing much of anything... that doesn't sound so great, does it? What about you?

A cop huh? Thats awesome. I used to be a cop in Baltimore, now I work for the government, mostly doing paperwork and stuff.

*Yeah, mentioning that he's a special agent and goes undercover all the time probably isn't the best thing to start out saying.*

and it sounds fine, wish i did nothing.

*he smiles at him before taking a bite of his bread.*

(ooc: OMG they should totally find out about eachother wheile they are working on the same case!! Hehehe.)

The government, huh? What's that like? [He'd rather talk about someone else than him, it was easier to avoid lying that way.]

Doing nothing gets either really boring or really expensive, really quickly [Not that he wasn't kept plenty of busy with his 'hobby', and not that he didn't have the money]

Whats it like?

*well, it's like shooting people, getting shot at, long hours, being held captive you know run of the mill.*

Its the usual stuff some good days some bad days... *he said shrugging.*

What do you do then, if your not working, do you have any hobbies or anything?

Pretty much like any job then? [Laughs slightly]

Well, I actually grew up in a circus [he says it a little warily, because he's never sure how people take that] so I like to keep in practice with my acrobatics.

Woah! That's so cool! *he said laughing and leaning forward, really interested.* So you do the trapeeze and stuff like that? That's really cool. I can't do any acrobatics, i would fall and break something, i'm more of a running kind of guy, there is nothing like going for a run to let the sress of the day leave. Why did you leave the circus? I've actually never been to one before.

Trapeze is my speciality, although I can walk the highwire too [he pretty much learnt to walk on the highwire. While he talks about it, his eyes light up a little]
anything up high and I'm in my element, it's like flying.

[It fades at the question though, because that's an awkward subject for a first date, but it's a hard one to avoid as well]

My parents... there was an accident [a murder], someone else took me in after that.

I'm sorry to hear that. *he said before changing the subject immediately so they would get back to the un parts of getting to know each other.*

I skydived once. It was awesome! I know what you mean about flying its pretty awesome, but i tend to like to keep both feet on the ground most of the time. *he smiled at him.* So where do you get to practice all this acrobat stuff, i didnt think there were places like that around here.

[Laughs slightly, pushing aside the sadness with practiced ease] I don't think I can keep my feet on the ground, it just feels more natural to be in the air, for me.

There's gyms you can practice in, if you know where to look. I was lucky that Bruce had one built in the house when I moved in [well, technically he just expanded the training area he already had, but that's one of those little details he keeps secret]

*Tony's heart hammered in his chest and his face fell, and the mention of this Bruce guy. Bab's had mentioned Bruce briefly, but if he had built him a acrobatic training facility, then there was no way he could compete with that. He brought the carefree smile back to his face after the little slip.*

Well that does seem pretty lucky.
