Size kink is a kink or preference for a distinct difference in size, height, musculature or weight between two sexual partners. It isn't too unusual for two people in a relationship to be of different sizes, be it height or weight or anything else of that nature; after all, it'd probably be more strange to see two people together with the exact same "specs," so to speak. What are the odds? Still, the difference isn't always pronounced. Except, sometimes, when it is. Some people find the difference cute or charming, while others are not such big fans. Whatever the case may be, there are benefits and drawbacks, all the same. This meme is for playing out everything that comes with being in a relationship where one party is a different size than the other. All configurations are welcome! It will also probably be beneficial for you to include information about your character's size for those who aren't familiar with your canon (ie, saying "big" or "small" or "tall" or "short" in the subject line, then extrapolating in the comment). Prompts Cute: The difference between you and your partner is adorable and fluffy, complete with big spoon and little spoon cuddling, carrying, and head patting. Awkward: In some couplings, especially in heterosexual ones, there is an unfair expectation for one party to be taller than the other. When it's the reverse, you can sometimes get stares and cruel comments. But don't let that get you down. Inadequate: Because of your size, you feel embarrassed and afraid that the person you love might not love you. Don't Want to Hurt You: If the size difference is great, there can be a fear on the part of the bigger half of the couple that they might hurt the smaller half - especially in sex. How can you work around this problem? Weight: Your size difference is in weight, not height. Not What You Expect: In fiction and pop culture, the bigger partner is usually the dominant one. What if that's not the case in this pairing, though? HUGE Difference: It's not just a foot or so difference; it's YARDS. One of you is really big and the other is tiny. No matter what, the way you care for each other is giant. Aren't You Too Young?: The smaller partners can get confused for kids next to their bigger lovers, and that can be embarrassing. You want to prove to your partner that they need not worry about what other people say - you're sexy and very much not a kid (unless you are, I suppose). Benefits: Having a size difference in your relationship isn't all downsides. [She might not have the height but Rapunzel was a resourceful girl. Being on the shorter side seldom ever actually stopped her from getting done what she needed to get done. Whatever she couldn't reach with her own hands she could usually reach with her hair, but after finally leaving home she was finding more and more that that wasn't always the case.

There were instances now when she simply had to find other means of reaching things, mostly things that didn't have handles for her hair to wrap around. Step stools sometimes worked, but they weren't always handy, and she'd had to learn that outside of the place she'd grown up climbing wasn't an acceptable solution for getting around obstacles that were bigger than herself.

Right at the moment she wanted to reach one of the books higher up on the shelf. She was in Spock's quarters, where she stayed most of the time (to avoid getting in the way with her hair, which she has yet to be convinced to cut). By now she'd managed to work her way through all of the books within her reach. Even with her voracious appetite for learning new things it had taken time to actually understand and digest a lot of what he had available, but she also wasn't afraid to ask him for help in understanding the things she couldn't get the answers for herself. Now she was ready to move on to the next set of shelves, but she just wasn't tall enough- no matter how much she stretched and reached.

BAH.

It seemed like such a mundane little thing, but right then it was really pronounced.

Finally, she sighs, thunks her forehead against the bookshelf, and relents. The next moment she's calling out and sounding not quite defeated, but rather close.]

[The difference between them feels microscopical when they spar together. With their bo sticks clacking together, Mako forgets whether there even is anyone else in the kwoon with them; all she sees is Raleigh, all she feels is the connection between them that stretches over months and months after operation Pitfall. The compatibility is there, in spite of the absence of Drifting; in fact, if Mako didn't know for sure that there are no more Jaegers left, she'd think they're in one Drifting right now.

They anticipate each other's moves before they happen, so the thrill comes from the times they manage to surprise one another with a new attack which gets the best of the other. Sparring becomes a challenge, when it comes to trying to outrun the person with inside knowledge to how you fight.

It's gruesome and arduous and lasts for what feels like hours before she manages an advantage and slams him to the floor. To make sure he stays there, and to catch her breath, she pins his shoulders down with her knees, very aware that she has to stretch them quite a bit to do this.]

Sano had had more to drink than nearly anybody at the party last night, but even considering that, he was pretty sure he remembered it better than almost any of them, too. It was one of the advantages of towering over his classmates and being built like a draft horse, along with his spot on the varsity football team and never needing a stepladder in the library. (The downsides were, for the record, bumping his head all the time and sort of racist locker room implications that he wasn't really Asian, but Sano wasn't the type to let little things get him down.)

So when he woke up, spread out on a frat house balcony next to a sleeping boy wearing his team jacket like a blanket, he remembered exactly how he'd gotten there, and knew exactly what had and hadn't happened. He'd spotted the kid--a spitfire if he'd ever seen one--arguing over the exact rules of a drinking contest that appeared to have already ended, looking about to topple over. When, rather inevitably, he'd started looking sick, Sano had helped him to a bathroom, held his hair, told him bad jokes until he felt well enough to glare at him for it, then taken him outside for some fresh air.

They'd talked for a while, and maybe Sano was a little fuzzy on what it had been about, but it had been nice. And the kid... Daisuke? Shinsuke?... had been rather insistent that he was too comfy to move before he fell asleep, so Sano had done his best to make him comfy before drifting off himself. Glancing at his face, he smiled a little--man, was cute! He looked so peaceful in sleep, his vicious temper briefly soothed away by slumber. Maybe he should get up and get him some water, but he didn't really want to leave him there alone.
