"Can You Handle Your Emotions?"

Emotions are... eh. We all have them, whether we want to or not. Some people have control over their emotions, and some people let their emotions control them. Where does your character fall on this spectrum? More importantly, what's their relationship with their emotions like? Do they bury everything deep, deep down inside, or are they the first one to cry over a sappy movie? Do they even know how they feel about what's going on inside? Pretty meta stuff.

• No blank top-levels.
• Instead, characters are to respond to the proposed question: can you handle your emotions? / are you in touch with your feelings?
• Get deep. Look within. Hear, think feel... or don't.

[ Some of the invisible hackles he'd raised lessen. Student is fine. Student isn't likely to take something he says out of context and sell it to the highest bidder. And besides, it's not like he's said anything that isn't Shane Hollander (TM) approved, so it's not like his mom or coach is going to climb out of the wall to yell at him for going off the record here.

He's starting to think maybe he's a little paranoid. ]

[ She tips her head slightly, watching him with a touch of concern. As captain of the team, he's likely the one with the most media attention on him, much like how the quarterback is the most well-known player in a football team. He probably thinks she's here to interview him when he's not ready for one, and she's quick to assure him otherwise. ]

It's okay. I understand, you hear press and assume you're going to have a camera in your face.

[ She nods earnestly. ]

Yeah, I did. I'm always impressed by it; I'm not much of an athlete myself so it's really cool to see people pull off the moves they do. Best I can do is spin around a roller rink, I don't know how that translates on the ice.

[ He gives her a tight smile at the quick assessment of exactly what his life looks like, and pairs it with a slight shrug. ]

Wouldn't be the first time someone tried to grab an unscripted quote [ Which is why his mother has drilled media training into him since before he was anything close to a captain. Hockey though--hockey he can talk about. ]

The foundation is the same, I think. The fundamentals.

[ he's not lying, exactly, but it's also not entirely the truth. He doesn't actually think he could manage roller skates at this point in his life with any sort of grace. ]

I know people like unscripted quotes, because it's more "real" but... [ She raises both of her hands in surrender. ] I'm not going to doing that to you. Promise.

[ She laughs, clapping her hands together. ] Slightly. I mean I've done some ice skating before too but I was just, terrible. I was a pile of bruises once I was done.

[ She omits the fact that she was a little drunk while trying to skate. Not her proudest moment. ]
