[oh, Brief definitely knew a pink princess when he was a little kid. he vividly remembers all those hours he laboriously poured into his copy of Super Mar*o Brothers as a child, always enthralled by the chance to be a hero and save the damsel of his dreams... but no matter how hard he tried, his hopes would always invariably be crushed by those few choice words:

"But our princess is in another castle!"

every time it happened, he'd become a little more disheartened... until he finally just decided to give up. it wasn't worth his time to be let down and disappointed for something he'd worked so hard for. he'd gotten enough of that in the real world; he didn't need that in a video game, too.

( A long time ago (or way in the future for her) Amy was dropped into his life rather unexpectedly. (You know the Doctor, always mucking with things that he shouldn't and he finally came for little Amelia like he said and took her into the future, where he left her for a good year before coming back for her. He really needs to stop being late when it comes to her life.) She was there, happy, and that young heart of hers was stolen by his charms and the amazing things he could show her. Just as quickly as she came into his life she was gone. It left a terrible hole in her heart and she resented the Doctor for taking her away, but she knew (deep down inside) that she needed to return home.

A good twelve (possibly more for him) years later, Amy returns into his life aboard the USS Enterprise. Of course, there is a large commotion about the blue policebox sitting on the transporter and the madman with the suspenders and bowtie leaning against it.

It is only a matter of time before a certain captain catches on to the redhead, but for now she's interested in looking around while the Doctor tries to explain things. )
