Life's a beach.

The sound of the waves washing in and out, the warmth of the sun as it shined down upon you, the smell of the ocean in the air. A trip to the Beach could always be fun and relaxing. Maybe you want to join a game of Beach volleyball or head out in the ocean and swim? There is always the option of catching a wave or two if you know how to surf. And if you don’t know how? Maybe you want to learn.
There are quite a few activities you can do while you are at the Beach. Though sometimes nothing beats just laying down and relaxing in the sun. But don’t forget to put on sunscreen to protect your skin! And for those hard to reach places, why not ask for a little helping hand.
[ooc: Open post for all! Set up your post however you want. Put up multiple scenarios, leave it blank, ect. Add a picture of what their swimwear is too if you like. Have fun! Ganked from this spot here.

He spikes his board in the sand, then hers, then tugs her closer so he can slide his arms around her and bend down to kiss her.
"You'll be amazing."
no subject
Her arms automatically go around his waist, fingers locking at his lower wait.
He tastes a little like salt and sand. It's delicious.
"If you insist."
Her smile is brilliant in the sun Nd she lets him go with a final squeeze, then reaches to trace her fingers down the board.
"Shall we begin?"

Like he promised, she picks it up quickly, and he feels confident enough to take them out into the water after about half an hour.
They start out with the smaller waves — bunny waves, he calls them, laughing and fully expecting her not to get the skiing quip — and of course, Hercules crushes them, he's been surfing since he was a little kid, he knows how to handle water.
But Mako does pretty well too, and he makes a point of encouraging her as much as possible every time she manages to ride a wave, small though it may be.

The concept isn't hard to pick up, especially when your board isn't moving and you're on land. The ground isn't moving beneath her feet, so hopping up and balancing isn't all that hard.
Everything changes once she's in the water though, and while Mako catches on pretty quickly, she falls. A lot. She splashes into the water on more than one occasion, coming up sputtering and splashing him when he laughs at her, accusing him of bringing her out here as sheer entertainment more than anything else.
It's good natured. It's fun. It's relaxing.
She's gets up on a few small ones though, maintains her balance and all that, keeps it going for more than a scant few seconds like her first few attempts. Once, she gets up and manages to fully stand and ride it a little longer, before she disappears beneath the water only to pop up a few moments later, swimming after her board before it washes ashore.

He tries not to laugh at her too much, though sometimes the urge is too great and he finds himself giggling despite his best intentions. Still, she doesn't seem to mind too much.
He cheers loudly when she manages to ride a wave, shouting and clapping even when she disappears beneath the water.
He takes the time she uses to get back on her board to chase a big wave, cutting through the water like a hot knife through butter. It's so freeing, being back out in the water again, doing things he hasn't been able to do since before the Kaiju war.

Sometimes, she just watches him. She sits there on her board with her hair dripping wet around her face as her eyes follow him through the water. He's so graceful, fluid and smooth in his movements. It's almost like watching a dancer; the beauty is amplified by the sun glaring down, rays hot as fire but also creating glinting diamonds across the blanket of the sea. It sparkles and shimmers and she has to shield her eyes, but she never looks away from him.

Eventually he decides that he's had enough of showing off and paddles up as close as he can, reaching in and gripping her board so he can lean in and kiss her.
"Doing okay, love?" he asks, squinting against the bright sun, a wide grin splitting his face.
no subject
There's no protest from Mako about the kiss.
"Mmm. Yes."
She nods briskly when he pulls back, lips still tingling, a pleasant little happy fire in her stomach.
"You're very good at this."
no subject
"Used to surf all the time when I was a kid," he explains, shifting back onto his own board and shielding his eyes with his hand.
"It's nice to be back on a board."
no subject
"It suits you," she says, shifting her weight a little so she can lean over and paddle, pushing herself up next to him.
"Both the sea, and the smile."
no subject
He ends up shifting and slinging his leg over her board to keep her from drifting away from him, reaching out to settle his hand on her spine, just where her swimsuit ends, his thumb brushing over her skin.
"You're a poet, sweetheart," he murmurs, grinning at her.
no subject
"I tell you the truth," she says, reaching out to touch his shoulder, fingers skimming over skin sticky with seawater.
"That is all. I like it when you smile."
no subject
"Thanks for coming with me," he murmurs, leaning precariously across their two boards so he can steal a quick kiss.
"I haven't been back to the beach in yonks. This is really special."
no subject
"I could need turn you down."
Mako nips his lip when he pulls back, her smile reaching her eyes.
"I am glad to be sharing this with you."
Alone.
no subject
"I don't think we can get away with postponing our return flight to get a hotel," he says, smirking a little, more than able to hear the caveat in her voice. Though he would love to do a repeat of their Hong Kong date, when they spent the night together and woke up tangled in each others' limbs.
"But there's nothing stopping us from lying on the beach for a while."
no subject
Unfortunately, he's right -- they wouldn't be able to get away with that. But she will take what she can get, while they have the opportunity.
"I would like that." She leans to kiss him again, then pushes away from his board. "Race you."
Like she has a shot in hell at winning that.

She splashes the hell out if him as he passes her, but he easily pulls away and leaves her behind.
Hefting her board under her arm, she eventually trudges up after him, flushed from effort but smiling.
no subject
"You did great today," he tells her, spiking her board for her and then pulling her into his arms for a quick cuddle before he twists and wrestles her down onto the sand, getting them absolutely covered in it, laughing brightly the whole time.
no subject
"Thank you--"
Mako was not expecting to get wrestled to the ground after that salty hug, but she takes it like a champ and goes down in style, doing her best to tussle with him despite her smaller size. She's pretty solid, but Herc has age, wisdom, strength and experience on her and she's easily pinned underneath him.
no subject
He can't think of anything witty to say so he doesn't, just leans in to kiss her slowly, licking into her mouth and letting his eyes close.
no subject
Mako is certain that she's not going to get the sand out of her suit, ever. It's all over her body; on her arms and legs and back and neck and her cheeks, too. It's forgotten when his mouth meets hers, though, and she smiles into the kiss and slides her arms around his waist, tugging him flush against her.
no subject
They can't indulge too much because this is a public beach and while it's rather empty they're still basically celebrities and people might recognize them, but he doesn't care right now. He can't make himself care.
no subject
Her hands frame his face, thumbs gently smoothing over his cheeks nearly in time with the slide of his tongue to hers. He's still salty, still sandy, still perfectly Hercules and he's got her heart slamming in her chest and wishing that they had one more night before they had to fly back to Hong Kong.
She doesn't care right now either -- not at all.
no subject
But they don't have one more night, and he reluctantly makes himself pull back, just enough that he can bump her nose with his.
"We should probably head back soon," he says reluctantly, stroking her wet hair off her forehead.
