The "Wedding Dress" Meme


In the past, weddings and marriages were simply business contracts to bind family and property together. Though that remains in some cultures, weddings in the modern day tend to be a time of joy, commitment, and looking forward to the future. That is, of course, if you're the one getting married to the person you love. But what if that person is getting married, and you're the one on the outside looking in? Maybe they left you, maybe you didn't know a good thing until it was gone, or perhaps they were forced into marrying someone else.

That decision is made, and the only one that remains is this: what will you do?

HOW TO PLAY
- Comment with your character and preferences. State whether or not you want your character being the one married or the one crashing the wedding - the default state, and for best results, is characters being able to do both.
- Tag others.

1. Can't Believe What's Going On: You've just been told the "happy" news. How do you respond?
2. Screamin' Out of Control: There's still time before the wedding day. You could still talk them out of all this foolishness! You're the one they should be with!
3. Is It too Late?: Uh oh, it's the end of the line! You have to get to the church and crash this wedding.
4. Hurt the One I've Cared For: You were hesitant about trying to interfere, but then you heard the person your love is marrying has hurt them in some way.
5. I Was Never Perfect: You weren't exactly good to your ex-lover, and now you're willing to change. Too bad you picked this day to tell them that...
6. Making You Uncomfortable: This isn't a marriage of love, it's an arranged marriage! That stings even more, and you're determined to set things right.

10. I Know We're Done: It's your wedding being interrupted by a familiar face! Are you angry? Hurt? Happy?

[He hadn't cared for her, the first time he met her. Then again, he never liked John's dates. She was intelligent, which was a refreshing change, but hard to read - but in a different way than The Woman had. Usually these things worked themselves out ended with the girl being frustrated that John was too close to Sherlock. But this one, this one stayed around. And slowly, John began spending less and less time at the flat. He began going to less cases.

If he were to be honest with himself, Sherlock supposed that it only made sense that it couldn't last forever. Their friendship would persevere, he thought, but of course John would one day get married and move away from 221B Baker Street. But their friendship became strained, not through anything really obvious, just little things, inconveniences. Sherlock was wrapped up in a case he spent most of his time on, and John spent most of his time with his new girlfriend, then fiance.

Only a few days ago, Sherlock had been hit with the realization. The bride-to-be was the criminal he had been chasing for months now. And of course the conversation Sherlock had tried to have with John was very brief and none too pleasant. Of course she's not a criminal, Sherlock, have you gone mental?

So now, the day of the wedding, Sherlock arrives late, with only an hour until the ceremony, although he is at least properly dressed. He's used to wearing suits, but he's not particularly keen on the tie business. And while he sits with John as the man gets ready for his wedding, Sherlock seems even more distant than usual, and just a little agitated - even if he won't say why.]

Yes, his intentions had been good but the closer it got to go time, the more apparent it became that he couldn’t just let her go. What happened to their friendship, their partnership, once she was married? Clint knew in his heart that he couldn’t handle being around her after this, so his only option was to walk away from her, to gain some distance.

He just had to talk to her one more time first.

FDR has always been shit at this type of stuff. Tuck was the romantic. He had all the class and the moves. FDR played from a very specific playbook that didn't really leave too much room for actual romance. Tuck called him chromantic. Creepy and romantic going hand in hand were actually something FDR had perfected. Lauren had been able to see something underneath all that and then she was gone. Just like. The ink had barely dried on their wedding license and she already wanted out. The specifics were hazy, but he knew most of them. His job was the worst and it's hard to make things long term when they started out so troublesome. Turbulence makes a relationship more appealing, but after it settles what's left? Lauren figured it out long before FDR ever did. So she left and FDR was left with a big house with a million renovations happening that were supposed to make Lauren feel more at home.

It took some doing before he even got back on the horse and he did pretty well his first time out of the gate. Tuck begged him not to go back to his one night stands and even invited him to some dinner orchestrated by him and his wife. It was a set up (a bad one, but still a set up). He did realize he wanted something solid. Something happy. So he pursued someone within his field of vision. Hell they worked for the same place, but in different departments. Tuck advised against work place romance, but FDR told him to shove it. He liked Annie. He didn't see any problem in dating her. Plus when they did get paired up for ops (it was fucking hot).

The breakup was the first hint that things weren't meant to be. Tuck told FDR to move on. It was a good try out of the gate and he did try to make it work. Ultimately FDR was positive he had messed it up. It was a mutual destruction maybe, but FDR had a record. It was hard to make him see otherwise honestly. He could change though right? People changed. They got better. They became more attentive the first go around. They went to therapy right? So FDR went. It was an agency shrink, but still it was supposed to help him grow as a person. He needed to evolve and become something that someone could love. He'd fix it.

Sabotaging a wedding isn't hard. He's actually done it once for a mission, but he had a lot of prep time. He thought he could sit idly and maybe she'd come to her senses concerning this marriage, but nothing happened. No sudden declarations and he hated it. He was changing? That was enough right? He drained the pool above his house. That was a big step. He hadn't even drained that for Lauren. She invited Tuck and that meant FDR conning him into taking him with him. Tuck couldn't resist FDR like this so he brought him and that gave FDR some face time with the bride. He thought about having the groom abducted, but that'd be harsh right? He moved past crap like that with Lauren. He was an adult now. Which is why he tranq gunned him and made his way to Annie's dressing room in the church. He entered without knocking and sucked in a deep breath. "I think your groom has cold feet, gorgeous."
