Perhaps it was being too cocky of her, assuming her opponent would be easy to take out on her own just because it was Vile. So the fact she is injured seem preposterous to her, even as Aile comes to her side. It's only through the virtue of the younger girl coming to her side that Iris hasn't completely collapsed to the ground from her wounds.
