1. Friendly hug - this person is your good pal, and you just wanna give them a fond squeeze to let them know.

2. Romantic hug - you just want to be closer, so wrap your arms around them, maybe rub their back some...

3. Bear hug - maybe you haven't seen them in a while, so how about a giant hug that lifts them off their feet 

4. Hug from behind - surprise them, guess who?! or maybe they're having a bad day, cheer them up.

5. Awkward hug - maybe it's on accident, but whatever the case is, you can't help but feel a little nervous about hugging them. 

6. Reluctant hug - whoever this person is, you have to hug them, better make it quick! 

7. "I'm sorry!" hug - actions speak louder than words, will this person get the message?

8. Give a little extra hug - give them a kiss with it, cheek, shoulder nuzzle, whatever - but let the hug linger a little!

[ Late nights have become a staple at Nelson and Murdock; staying, long after working hours should be over, when everyone else is at home, comfortable, relaxed. Sometimes its all three of them; sometimes its a combination of two, but right then, it’s only he and Karen. Two months since Fisk has been taken into custody; justice won out, eventually, but the people are still gone. Ben; Elena. And he knows she’s still hurting; can hear it in her voice, sense it, in ways that he wouldn’t be able to describe to anyone else.

She isn’t the only one. Seated at his desk, she’s moving around the office, and Matt shifts his focus entirely to her. It drowns out the rest of the world; he can’t taste the pollution in the air from outside, or hear the chattering of voices spanning three city blocks when she has his attention. No, it’s just...her, a subtle scent of the shampoo she uses, the steady sound of her breathing, everything and anything.

A strength that he admires; it isn’t about her needing someone to fix how broken the world is, he needs her, the support, even if she doesn’t know all of his secrets, somehow she still understands him. Quietly, Matt slides his chair back, moving towards where she is, the case will be there later, and tonight...at least right then, he doesn’t want to go out as the man Hell’s Kitchen has taken to calling Daredevil. Later. ]

Karen. [ Her name is soft when he speaks it; one of the rare times Matt isn’t wearing his glasses, a sign that his defenses are lowered. What could he say to her? His lips part again, but there isn’t a sound to come out. He swallows thickly at the lump forming in his throat; and then he steps forward, without hesitating, his arms slip around her, protectively, warmly.

One arm stays around her; his free hand is sliding into Karen’s blond locks...her hair feels like silk. A pause; nothng more than a second, though it feels like an eternity. He knows this is unexpected, especially for her...Matt smiles plenty, laughs and jokes, because being physically close to someone else isn’t something he allows very often ]
