Um, don't shoot? I'm just a scientist.

You shouldn't be out here alone, you know.
no subject

Really, she thinks the Rifts just have it out for her.
Regardless, she pulls her own weight. She tries not to show off her more angelic traits when she doesn't have to - she can see from how they treat Ben that out of the normal abilities are not exactly kosher. Still, the moments when she can take the skitters by surprise are worth it.
Still, there are nights when she sneaks up onto the roof, just to let her wings out and breathe a little. To feel more like the angel she is than the human she's pretending to be. Tonight, however, there's a little snag in that agenda -- her ward is on the roof already.
And Claudia's timing continues to be fantastic.]
What are you doing up here?
no subject
[just another fight with his brother leaving the eldest Mason frustrated at the world in general. And with Maggie still laid up with her stitches, he had no one to talk to. So he was just on the roof watching the skies]
I can ask the same about you.
no subject
I like looking at the stars. Makes me feel like home.
[and reassures her that this world isn't going to end the way the last one did. She won't have to watch them slowly go out again.]
no subject
[not that he would fight his baby brother. But he's 17 and making drawings in the sky with a kid isn't really cool, right?]
I can usually find the dippers, but never was good at finding any of the other constellations for him. But I was damn good at making sailboats.

[she turns and points a bit.]
That's Orion's Belt.

Five
You're still dragging your feet. [She called out without even needing to turn around. After all this time, Maggie knew Hal's footsteps.]
no subject
[he walked over to sit next to her, the rifle across his lap]
You doing alright?
no subject
[Ready with a grin as he joined her, Maggie stared out at the view for another long moment before allowing her gaze to fall on Hal, their shoulders lightly brushing.]
When am I not? You not on patrol?
no subject
Kinda hard to be on patrol when your partner is out stargazing.
no subject
[Gently bumping her shoulder to his to show that she was teasing.]

5 - Full Moon
Instead he was out during the full moon, trying to make sense of the world. Well that was the excuse he gave himself. The truth was the moon's pull had him on edge and being in a bar with so many people with their emotions running high, or in a hotel with all those noises and smells, as too overwhelming.
So he was out, looking up at the moon and considering the pull, the way it brought people to lunacy, and the changes the world was going through. Or, in truth, the desire for violence that ran beneath the surface, seemingly more at bay that night than others, oddly enough.
no subject
So instead he decided to take a walk, lost in his own thoughts and not thinking about lifting his feet to keep his heels from dragging. Maggie always called him out on it, but at the moment he didn't care. he wasn't on patrol, just working out his frustration before he ended up trying to strangle Ben... well, attempting to at least. In his head.
"Stupid kid thinks he knows everything," he muttered to himself, then came up short at the sight of the man staring up at the moon. He could only see the man's back, so he wasn't sure if he was a part of the 2nd Mass or not, so his hands slid to his rifle carefully. "Sorry, didn't know anyone else was out here."
no subject
He heard the steps, listening. When he realized it wasn't pack, he was okay with it all. Strangers were a lot better right now than pack. Anyone was better than that. No, not true but close. There was worse, and they were all dealing with it. Or Peter was trying not to.
He turned slowly, chuckling. "Nope, just someone out trying to avoid stupid kids himself. Am I trespassing?"
no subject
"Nah, man. Didn't even realize there were people living around here. Good to see new faces sometimes."
no subject
"I don't really live around here. Just kept going until the urge to throttle someone had passed." He looked him over, eyes alighting on the rifle. "Am I going to get shot, even if I'm not trespassing?"
