[Jane's out investigating odd occurrences, and she's not paid one bit of attention this time to where she was going or even if there was anyone else in the vicinity.

[Hal is on patrol. He should have his partner with him, but there's a cold going around and half the crew is down so he's alone. He found a lake and decided to take a break and watch the stars. When he hears someone in the woods nearby, he quickly turns and aims up his rifle]

Who's out there?

[anomaliiiiies]

[Jane squeaked, surprised that someone was actually out there. She didn't expect anyone here. But she slowly poked her head and arms out from behind the tree she had been using as a backrest and stared at the man holding the rifle.]

Um, don't shoot? I'm just a scientist.

[he rose his gun instantly, taking the aim off the girl in the woods]

You shouldn't be out here alone, you know.

[Jane shuffled out from behind the tree, and patted her side]

I have a taser, and my van is nearby. If necessary I can can run them over.

But what happens if they get between you and your van?

[he smiled, amused. A taser, really?]

Then I go somewhere else. I'm pretty good at climbing trees, and I am pretty small. I'm good at hiding.

[small shrug] Or else I whip out my phone, call a certain number, and I have some rather big guys coming for me.

You still get reception on that thing all the way out here?

[Hal hadn't seen a cell phone in over a year with no electricity to charge them]</small.

We gave up trying to find reception months ago. Should've kept my Iphone.

[Jane's eyes flick to her phone. She had three bars.]

Okay, what happened?

Aliens landed? Did you miss the big ships hanging out in Boston?

The only alien I know of, well the first one, he came down in a vortex. I would have heard something if there was anything in Boston. They would have been a lot more excited about the Asgardians if that was the case.

[Hal just looked at her, very, very confused]

Asgardians?

[she looks at him, a little startled. Ooops.]

Yeah. Technically aliens, but they're very humanoid. They came through an Einstein-Rosen bridge from Asgard, one of the nine realms. I promise it isn't that weird, okay.

[he can't really think of anything to say right away]

No... no it sounds the right amount of weird.
