RULES ○ In the subject line, put what your character would ICly say their type is. ○ Oh no, not the mysterious, truth-telling buttons that appear from thin air! They're back with a vengeance. To wit, throw in the body of your comment what your character's type ACTUALLY is. ○ We point. We laugh. Everyone has fun. That last part is questionable.
We have something in common then. I try to help out people during my travels.. That's kind of like granting their wishes, in a way.
[Sometimes for the right pay, but hey, how else is he supposed to make a living while travelling?
Aether grins as he sees the other taking a battle stance.]
Don't underestimate me.
[And he rushes to strike first. His cut is clean and swift, his movement confident and his reactions fast. It's easy to tell that he's fought countless battles before.]
So it is. Something more people should strive to do when they're able. It'd take a load of us gods.
[Not that he minds the work; hell, he needs it with the rates he charges.]
I won't. I know better than that!
[Raising an impressed eyebrow, he counters the swing with one of his own then goes in from the other side in an attempt to nick his arm, starting off simply to begin with.]
Perhaps they just need some more inspiration for that.
[Sadly, no world is perfect but people who do good are important always.]
Good!
[He evades the strike completely by moving right behind Yato with speed that is hardly something an ordinary person could do. Despite his young and very human appearance, Aether is an alien being that has lived likely far longer than Yato has.
He makes another attempt at a strike, not to hurt, but to surprise his opponent.]
That's what I hope to do - inspire people along with helping them when they need it--
Tch!
[Even with his own superhuman speed and strength, he has to admit that Aether is fast, keeping him on his toes as he whirls around to block as he summons up a second, shorter sword to parry with while his main blade is directed at the other guy's leg.]
[Aether lets a surprised noise as his sword is parried with the shorter blade while the other attempts to strike his leg. He narrowly manages to back away, but the sharp sword still makes a cut in the fabric of his pants.
[That gets a chuckle out of Yato as he keeps stepping forward to press the attack, switching which weapon he attack with in the hopes of making an opening for further damage.]
I told you - a war god! I may not have been as active these past hundred years, but I'm still in the game!
[Despite his best efforts, the incoming attack slips by his defenses to nick him cleanly on the hip, leading to a hurriedly bitten off swear from the god. At least it wasn't his jacket.]
Shi-- Should've taken my damn jersey off...
[Jumping back to put some distance between them, he hurries to shrug out of his top, leaving himself in a t-shirt as he tosses the article of clothing aside.]
[He gives Yato a moment to take off the piece of clothing, but only a moment. Aether then rushes right back, trying to shorten the distance between them again and striking with his sword.]
[Because immediately after, he gets right back in the game, bringing both blades in to cross-block Aether's attack. As their weapons lock, he leans in, trying to force the other guy back a few paces.]
[Considering that Aether is shorter, the pressure put on him by the sword is not something he can fight with well so he takes a few steps back. He's aware that this is what Yato must be aiming for, so he remains vigil, ready to jumps away the moment another attack is launched at him.]

[A small grin.]
But you can show me what you've got in battle.
[It would be interesting to face a god that doesn't look as intimidating as Raiden, for instance.]
no subject
[Yet it's something he finds amusing, at least, judging by the grin on his face.]
no subject
[He's just a traveler who enjoys a challenge.]
My name is Aether, by the way.
no subject
[Seeing as how it's been a while since he's gotten the chance to fight freely.]
Yato. Or more formally, Delivery God of Fortune, Yatogami.

[He readies his sword to prepare for the battle. It's hardly an impressive weapon, rather worn down and dull as its name - Dull Blade - suggests.]
I'm ready when you are.
no subject
[i.e. Killing people. But that's all in the past now.]
Alright, then! Come, Sekki!
[Raising a hand, his sword appears in a flash of light, which he then twirls before taking a battle stance.]
I'll try not to cut you too badly.

Aether frowns at that.]
It looks like I have to be more careful.
