holy crap it wasn't that hot out last week. Now suddenly the mercury's skyrocketing and you have to find some way to beat the heat

i WHERE:
001 PLAYGROUND - man that asphault is a killer. Better try and find some cover quick
002 AT HOME - Ac's broken. it's too hot. And opening a window seems to have no effect.
003 POOL -Ah the perfect place to cool off... and check out some babes ;D
004 CLASS - The hours seem to tick by that much more slowly when the temperature is on the rise....
005 LOCKED OUT - Crap. Where did you put your keys. Did you REALLY manage to lock yourself out on the hottest day of the year?

001 SHADE - Not perfect. But it will have to do..

See this, Isaac? This is Stiles sticking his tongue out at you. "Go shower. I'll meet you by the jeep." He gave Isaac a wave and a smirk, feeling like he'd gotten the last word in.

[excessive]

Nope. Not responding to that. Not ever. Instead he just headed back to the locker room to get that shower.

He wasn't gone long. Lingering in the shower always felt stupid. And weird. Not to mention creepy.

Finishing up, he dressed in clothes that weren't as clean as they could be but good enough. Grabbing his bag, he headed out to the parking lot to see if Stiles was still there or bailed on him.

It wasn't as if the thought of bailing on Isaac hadn't crept into his mind, but he'd said he'd be there and he was. Hopefully the werewolf was in a better mood though, otherwise Stiles wouldn't have a problem with kicking his ass out while the jeep was still moving.

[excessive]

Isaac was silent though not broody as he came in, sliding into the passenger seat. "So... thanks for not bailing me here," he muttered, looking out the windshield.

[teenyoda]

"Don't thank me yet. Your air conditioning is rolling down your windows and hoping I go fast enough for a breeze." But he started the car when Isaac got in, giving him half of a grin.

[excessive]

"Again, more breeze than walking would be," he pointed out, doing just that with the window. "And it's not, you know, walking."

[teenyoda]

At least someone appreciated his jeep. He gave Isaac a perfunctory nod and cruised out of the parking lot. "So, the loft?"

[excessive]

He nodded. "Yeah, I've got training to do." Because the heat wouldn't stop that, he was damn sure of that."

[teenyoda]

"Training? Seriously? In this? Can werewolves get heat stroke?" Reason number fifty-eight of why Derek was a douche.

[excessive]

"I... Don't know," he said, glancing at Stiles. "I can't let up on my training. Who knows what's coming and I want to make sure I stay focused." It wasn't by Derek's orders, but his own determination not to let his alpha down.

[teenyoda]

"Yeah? Stay focused on what, how to work yourself to an early grave?" Derek was still a dick. Don't tell him he wasn't, Isaac. Stiles knew better.

[excessive]

He snorted. "Given my life I'm facing that one way or another. Think I always assumed I was." Between the abuse, and his brother's death, he'd never thought about growing old. He barely thought about growing up.

"Besides, Derek's place has air conditioning. Not like out running for cross country or something."

[teenyoda]

"Yeah, well, think again. Positive reinforcement, Isaac. It works." It had kept him from winding up dead, so he could actually claim it as legitimate.

"Really? The loft? Has air conditioning? Those are called 'hole', Isaac, not central air."

[excessive]

"Okay fine. It has fans. I know. I put them in the work room."

And he's stolen them two days ago. What? It was hot in there.

"And my enforcements are fine, thank you."

[teenyoda]

"Your enforcements are shit." So he might be a bit more blunt than perhaps Isaac needs, but hey, the guy barely listened to him. He didn't have enough fur or something. Maybe if he started shaving his chest, he'd grow some hair and then Isaac would take him seriously.

[excessive]

"What the hell do you want me to say? I'm making the most of the life I have, Stiles. What else am I supposed to do?"

[teenyoda]

"Want more." He shrugged, turning the wheel to go left. "Don't be satisfied with what you have when what you have is shit."

[excessive]

He sighed, slumping. "I owe Derek, Stiles. Beyond that I don't want to leave him. He's my alpha. He's the closest thing to family or friend I have in this world. What more is there for me to want," he asked, having convinced himself to be happy with what he has.

[teenyoda]

"I never said you had to leave him. I just said you had to want to do more than just be part of his pack. There's a whole world out there, Isaac. There's a whole world here, but if you just wrap yourself up in Derek's universe, you're going to miss it."

[excessive]

"Like what," he asked softly, meaning it. "Have you looked around this town?" He slumped, shoulders hunching in. "Beacon Hills is this, Stiles. Look at our lives."

[teenyoda]

"Beacon Hills is more than werewolf shit, Isaac. Sure, be a werewolf. You can't change that, I get that. But you're not just a werewolf. You can't just lock yourself up in that."

[excessive]

He chuckled, a soft huffing of sound as he glanced at Stiles. "I get what you're saying, I do, but a lot of my life is just that. Before... I was given this chance, I'd kind of...' He made a sound. "I had given up. There wasn't much beside getting through school and getting through home without..."

He choked on the words, thinking about the freezer. "Yeah. There wasn't a lot, Stiles."

[teenyoda]

"But this isn't then, Isaac." He was getting closer to Derek's place. "Things aren't perfect, but they're... better? Maybe? They could be."

He felt a little bad for Isaac, more so because of what the guy had gone through at home with no one else aware of it. No one but Jackson and he and his dad shared the same opinion on that.

[excessive]

"They're better." That he wouldn't argue. He couldn't argue that it wasn't better. There was no freezer. Anything was better without that threat.

He made a sound. "Stiles. Even the threat of the alpha pack is not as bad as the freezer," he whispered softly.

[teenyoda]

Stop it, Isaac. Stop making him feel sorry for you.

"I have no idea what you went through, Isaac, but a sucky situation can still be a sucky situation. I'm sorry."
