[Vox had nearly wiped him off the map. Not because Vox was stronger, but because his cohorts had shown up and gotten involved in their personal matter! He'd been wiping the floor with the TV Demon until that gun went off behind him. Angelic steel in a bullet? He'd tear the wings off that moth the next time they meet! His only solace was that he'd left Vox pretty wrecked too. And he hadn't needed backup to do it.

Alastor slipped into the shadows and dumped himself into a secluded casino, barely holding himself together with his own magic. If the Vees found him like this, they'd finish the job... But demons were vultures and Alastor had made a bit of a name for himself. Any of them would happily turn him over for a chance to get a favour from the trio of Overlords.

Red eyes landed on the Overlord at the card table.]

Room for a wager, my good man?

[A failure. A loser. A wash-up. A fraud. Luckless.

The casino Alastor found himself in was... well, it didn't look like it was in the best state. It was clean, sure, but nearly empty, aside from a few handful of sinners. Alastor probably wouldn't even know that this place was once much more prolific and popular given the emptiness before him.

A winged and tailed demon cat was slumping over one of the poker tables, with empty booze bottles and a few decks of cards smattered across it. Husk felt like he was about to hit rock bottom. He had doubts on choosing the life of an Overlord currently.

Unfortunately for him, Husk's party of self-pity had gotten interrupted. At the mention of the wager, he couldn't help but have his ears perk up whilst emitting a questioning meowing sound. Fuck, he really has to find out a way to stop that. Husk looks up and...

It's the Radio Demon.

Husk's instincts told him to yell at the motherfucker and throw the bottle at him. But his instincts also told him that now is the time for a gamble. A gamble. A gamble. Perhaps the last. But a gamble nonetheless. The absolute rush Husk would feel if he won big against this radio demon would be phenomenal.]

Uh- Yeah! S- um, sit the fuck down. What's the game?

[It didn't look as if things had been going well for the feline lately. That just made things sweeter~ But putting his life in the hands of chance was foolish. Especially when, given the slump of those shoulders and wings, it looked as if the other might have nothing left to lose either.

Alastor slid into the chair across from Husk with some effort. Red and black ears flicked back once but quickly righted the error of their ways and faced forward once more. Best not show weakness and that included the pain he was in. Though, with that feline nose, the other might be able to smell the blood. He could play it off, surely.

[Because he needed the juice right now to take on the other two Vees... Luck had never failed him before. Why would it now? Well... except in the woods that fateful night, but let's not think about that lest we jinx things.]

Think about it, my feline friend. If you win, you could boast owning the infamous Radio Demon. All the power I control, all the magic I wield, at your beck and call. No one would challenge your power.

[The lights flickered then went out in the city. Vox must have finally lost consciousness. So, Alastor waved a hand and an acid green light lit up the table where they sat, casting a sickly colour over the pair.]

[[Ooh, ngl, I was sort of angling for Hazbin characters. My weakness for cross-canon will be the death of me.

Loki would have a slight soft spot for Angel, given the situation he's in, so that could have potential for softer CR, if you're into that. Otoh, Alastor just registers as 'oh this guy is Dangerous', which doesn't mean Loki wouldn't love to play with fire, but it would be a little more tense and adversarial.

I am up for either, though it would be easy enough to build off the conversation they have on Q4Q with Angel, so if you're leaving it entirely up to me I'd choose him.

Eta: Also, I tend to play Loki from a nebulous film canon "IW/Endgame is something that happened to other people" standpoint, but if you prefer God of Stories Loki from D+ canon, I can do that too.]]

Look man, you and me both. I played Loki from both MCU and 616 until both canons hit parts where I just wasn't feeling it anymore. My MCU Loki became a mix of MCU and Agent of Asgard before I retired him and my 616 Loki.

[Reigen was a new Sinner, and he definitely needed some sort of backup - in turning into a fox, he was now easily half the height of most Sinners and though he had nice wings to get himself out of some struggles, it wouldn't be a very good long-term solution.

Buuut that doesn't mean Vox is going to have an easy time. After all, pint-sized though he is now, Reigen still has all of that fast-talking moxie from his mortal life.]

Now hold on - what exactly does ownership of my soul offer you in this scenario? The offers I was getting from other Overlords were also vague on this point. Protections are one thing, but that's measurable service!

I have a green belt, but around here that doesn't amount to much - if my soul is contracted to you, am I able to make deals for other people's souls, or is that relegated to those who have ownership of their own? Picking up contracts on my own just smacks of trying to become a rival overlord - but is there an opportunity for growth under the Vees?
