[Vox had nearly wiped him off the map. Not because Vox was stronger, but because his cohorts had shown up and gotten involved in their personal matter! He'd been wiping the floor with the TV Demon until that gun went off behind him. Angelic steel in a bullet? He'd tear the wings off that moth the next time they meet! His only solace was that he'd left Vox pretty wrecked too. And he hadn't needed backup to do it.

Alastor slipped into the shadows and dumped himself into a secluded casino, barely holding himself together with his own magic. If the Vees found him like this, they'd finish the job... But demons were vultures and Alastor had made a bit of a name for himself. Any of them would happily turn him over for a chance to get a favour from the trio of Overlords.

[[Ooh, ngl, I was sort of angling for Hazbin characters. My weakness for cross-canon will be the death of me.

Loki would have a slight soft spot for Angel, given the situation he's in, so that could have potential for softer CR, if you're into that. Otoh, Alastor just registers as 'oh this guy is Dangerous', which doesn't mean Loki wouldn't love to play with fire, but it would be a little more tense and adversarial.

I am up for either, though it would be easy enough to build off the conversation they have on Q4Q with Angel, so if you're leaving it entirely up to me I'd choose him.

Eta: Also, I tend to play Loki from a nebulous film canon "IW/Endgame is something that happened to other people" standpoint, but if you prefer God of Stories Loki from D+ canon, I can do that too.]]

Look man, you and me both. I played Loki from both MCU and 616 until both canons hit parts where I just wasn't feeling it anymore. My MCU Loki became a mix of MCU and Agent of Asgard before I retired him and my 616 Loki.

I'll be able to write us a starter in a couple hours, when I get back to my PC, but two more questions first: Little bit of hurt/comfort drama okay? And do you prefer Prose or Bracket for meatier tags like this will be?))

[[Having had Loki interact with Al before, it tends to involve a lot of knowing grins and subtle needling, which I do enjoy, so yes hit me up any time with him. But Angel for this works perfectly.

I draw a lot thematically from 616 Loki, and I try to bring in mythology, too, which makes mine a weird mishmash at the best of times, but I have fun.

Hurt-comfort drama is always A+ with me, yes, and I prefer prose for longer things, but I will match your style! Take your time, work is always kicking my ass these days.]

What are the expectations of selling my soul? Am I at the beck and call of you directly, or your subordinates? I have a green belt, but around here that doesn't amount to much - if my soul is contracted to you, am I able to make deals for other people's souls, or is that relegated to those who have ownership of their own? Picking up contracts on my own just smacks of trying to become a rival overlord - but is there an opportunity for growth under the Vees?

It had not been a bad day to say the least. Val was in a mood. Apparently he and Vox had a fight over something and Angel ended up being the outlet for Val's anger afterwards, as per usual. But this time was bad. Worse than the usual slapping around, strung out, and fucked senseless. It was worse than the rage Angel faced when Charlie had ruined his set. Whatever the fuck happened between Val and Vox, it was on a new level.

So, Angel dragged himself off the floor after Val left the room and declared they were finally done for the night, and ran. He couldn't go back to the Hotel looking like this. Husk would fly off the rails and he didn't want his favourite kitty cat to do anything that might get him hurt. Charlie would freak out too. He was just glad Cherri was watching Nuggets for him so he didn't have to go back to check up on the little hell piglet.

Angel had pulled on a big fluffy jumper to hide most of the marks and bruising. His lower pair of arms were holding his midsection in an attempt at a comforting hug and his upper hands fumbled with his phone, making sure Val hadn't sent him any texts or voicemails demanding he come back because he'd changed his mind about being done. While he wasn't looking, where he was going, he bumped into a figure in the dark. Wincing, Angel dropped his phone as his upper arms came up immediately in a submissive act of defence to protect himself from a blow for being so clumsy. He was still in his default Val's Angry Mode and protecting his face was always paramount.

"I-I-I-I'm s-s-sorry, I--" Angel stammered as he looked up.

He fits in poorly in this flame-tinted landscape. Loki wanders where he will, and no one tells him where he can't go, but some places are more... comfortable than others. If he didn't have business here, he wouldn't linger, but he'll be damned (ha!) if he lets himself look like he's ill at ease while he's here. It's counterintuitive, but his Jotun form looks slightly more natural in these alleys, despite its wintery shades. His eyes, at least, are as red as anyone else's.

Distracted by his own thoughts, he fails to notice Angel until they've collided. Granted, it's a mild collision, barely a shoulder-check, but the way the demon reacts you'd think something was to irreparably broken. Loki makes a small, startled noise, but says nothing for the space of a few seconds, then bends and picks up the dropped phone.

"This is what happens when you text and walk, I'm afraid," he says, but there's no venom in his voice. He dusts the screen on his sleeve and offers it back. "Easy, easy. I'm not going to bite you."

He's perfectly content to let the bump be Angel's fault, despite it having been a two way street, but making an issue of it seems excessively aggressive. "Rough night, I take it." It's not a question. "You should get off the street if you're that jumpy."

He can't see the injuries yet, between low light and the fluffy sweater, but it won't take long to ferret out a conclusion.
