Okay I have to because this is too funny -- Endwalker Spoilers
Well, she was standing at the window in that inn's robe, also known as whatever excuse for night clothing she had that time. She was tired, having been woken from the sudden entrance her fellow... Well, former Scion, so treasure-hunting partner? And her hair was a puffed up mess from her having undone its tie and whatever movement it had gone through during her too short slumber. So she's awake in the middle of the night for...
"... What?"
There was a mix of exhaustion and disbelief. Either Estinien possibly had too much wine or ale or something like that, he was possessed (she'd just try to shut down the thought that her "best friend" had come back from the dead to pull this stunt), or this was the most bizarre dream she'd ever had. Regardless, Adela was way too tired for this.
> Estinien, what is this about? >>> Can it wait? > Are you confessing to something?
"Can you devour it tomorrow? I would kind of like it where it is for the night."

The man's eyes, expression, and calm posture shows he is quite normal and clearly not possessed. It's not hard to see a thin light of orange in the night sky threaten to warn them that sleep won't come easy in an hour. The orange light heralds the coming of the Final Days and some maniac former despot is still out there, waiting longingly for a reunion long denied.
"I just thought you should know. It's coming from me, not the dragon. That was it." He did had a drink of ale but it's for calming the nerves for the long fight of horror to come.
"You needed your rest. But do not sleep for long. We're going to need your strength. Right then." He's just going to mosey over to the window, one foot on the fence and ready to jump out.
"You also have my lance and it's an honor to fight by your side on the frontline."
Small smile to his beloved heroine. "Until the morrow then."
"Estinien, you can at least explain what you actually mean before you take off. I don’t understand what devouring my heart is supposed to mean."
Well, she was definitely awake now. She had been hoping that the glow in the distance was for the sunrise, but the fact that it still felt like she had too little sleep and that it was in the wrong direction said otherwise.
Perhaps driven by nerves of her own, she started to pat down her hair to try and make it more presentable. Now that she had noticed he was smiling, it was hard not to feel a little self-conscious about how she must have looked then.
"And don't say it's not important. You wouldn't have woken me up in the middle of the godsdamned night if it wasn't."
At first, he felt mild embarrassment and nervousness, then he sees her confusion. It doesn't help that there's the stress of the apocalypse with the orange streaks in the sky that's threatened to loom over in less than an hour that will demand their courage and a call for arms.
"It was a figure of speech. I was working on the art of being a bard...I haven't studied it when I was a boy. I passed it because all of my life I want vengeance and make the dragon to pay for my loss." He said. "But I might as well speak plainly."
"I'm just coming by to tell you that I love you and I'm worried for you." He finally said. "I always told you that since the Dragonsong war you made want to fight by your side and for your causes. You have me and my lance."
With making himself clear, "And I was worried...for you .... ..." He mumbles and trials off, not wanting to admit he's afraid of losing her. "But since you saved the First, I think and prayed that we might make it on this fight together."
That was... Unexpected. Before she could stop herself she was completely red in the face, unsure because it was a lot all at once. She'd be lying if she said that she didn't feel the same, it was just... There was always so much going on. There wasn't time. There was never time. And the last time she thought she had even an inkling of that feeling... But she'd felt this way about Estinien for a while, hadn't she? She just had to keep shelving it because of everything happening around them.
It was hard to face, but it was also impossible to ignore now that he'd said something.
She took a breath to brace herself before she approached. Truthfully she had never been that good with words, so it wasn't like she didn't understand Estinien's trouble finding the right ones. Perhaps a gesture would make it clear -- she took his right hand in hers, and after a moment's pause for her own courage she kissed it. A small act of affection and (hopefully) comfort, but it would make her feelings apparent. At least, she hoped it would.
"Thank you, for saying it plainly. And... When we make it through this," When, not if, she had to keep telling herself, even though she was also unsure of how their final confrontation against the Final Days would turn, "I... I would hear you, again. And give you a better answer then."
That there was no time to explore this then and there, but that she'd be happy to once it was all over. Once they'd made it. Hopefully, that much was apparent to him in what she'd said.

[There are things which should be normal and consider to be the way things are supposed to be. Dragoons jump, people bleed and majority of people are asleep at night.
To have Estinien, the Estinien pop in randomly via window AT night was something that went against the natural order.
Leanne was in her night clothes, just about to finally go to sleep when he popped in.]
... What?...
[Before he could make his escape, she hurries over to latch onto whatever limb she can.]
Why do you want to eat my heart? Has another dragon possessed you?
The window is open. It's an acceptable entryway. The man is talented jumping from the backs of monsters and from the rooftops to rooftop, so he landed without issues. It's natural because dragoons are talented jumpers for combat. Trained all of their lives to master the skill.
The man's eyes, expression, and calm posture shows he is quite normal and clearly not possessed.
She blinks when he finally explains what he meant and.... Watch her turn bright red from blushing.
"M-M-M-Me?!" Give her a moment to process what he just said.
When were there any hints of his affection towards her? Was she just dumb and not notice them?! And what of her? What does she feel about him.
Yes, she had felt inklings of a crush towards him but tried to kill those feelings about him. Her blush doesn't fade as before she knew it, tears wells up and starts to fall from her eyes.
"..." She finally speaks. ".... Bully.... Grumpy...." Despite what each word is, there was nothing but affection and love in her tone. "How long have thou love me?"
when the end comes, I'll kill you first and keep your heart to remember you by.

Leanne stares up and into his eyes, studying them. He is clearly not possessed again so that means...
"Why eat my heart then? I find it quite useful where it is."
She goes to let go of him and stretches, smiling despite letting out a yawn.
"Unless...." Cause what is the heart connected to when it comes to figures of speeches? Nah, this is Estinien afterall.
