5. Freakshow: Do they really have a bearded lady in that tent? It's time to find out. Buy a ticket and see the greatest oddities the world has to offer.
Hard Mode: one of you actually is the oddity being gawked at by the other. How does that make you feel?

6. Tunnel of Love: Or perhaps tunnel of mild boredom. The red-tinted lights and quasi-romantic music are meant to make this ride a great makeout spot, if the chemistry is there.

7. Hall of Mirrors: You and your partner entered, thinking it would be easy to get out again, but dead ends abound in this wacky mirror-maze, and each mirror seems to show a more and more distorted image of each of you.

8. Fortune Teller: Whether one of the creepy machines or the even creepier women dressed up in a culturally insensitive costume, you cross someone's palms with silver and get your future told. Will it be happiness forever with your partner, or will ill tidings be bound your way?

[Despite his hardboiled exterior, Van always knew when to cut back and have some fun! He had made sure that his schedule was opened up for this day and there were no urgent guild requests to fulfill either. That's why he had personally reached out to call Rebecca over to spend the day at the carnival! The last time that he was here felt like a long time ago, so he couldn't help and feel like a big old kid again.

Those were nostalgic days that he wouldn't be able to get back, but he could definitely make up for them now with these new memories with Rebecca. She was someone in his inner circle that he'd drop everything and make special exceptions for. Van's trying his best to play it cool with his hands in his coat pockets, but there's still a small smile on his face. He's definitely excited to be here. It was an smooth and easy drive over and the entrance line wasn't long at all. As detail-oriented as he could be, he felt that there was nothing that could get in their way.]

[The Hawkins summer carnival is in town, signaling the return to school in just a couple of weeks. Neither of them have to worry about it anymore, they graduated a few months ago. Now all they have to focus on is working and establishing who they're becoming as adults.

Apparently, they're the type of couple that goes to carnivals and rides spinny rides until one or both of them puke. She hasn't eaten much, just some popcorn and a bite of his food. But he's really pigged out, and they've both had enough soda that she's seriously concerned about his plans to ride the Tilt-a-Whirl. But he's holding up those tickets and looks so excited that she can't say no. So she doesn't...exactly do that. She just hopes to delay the spinning for a little while.]

I was thinking that maybe we could try winning a prize over at the midway. I saw a really cute stuffed tiger when we walked past earlier.

[How she's ended up on another date is anyone's guess, more so because she hadn't realized she still possessed any spontaneity. Everything up until now had always been approached carefully, but Copia's mere presence was changing things. This was at least more planned, the carnival in full swing by the time she arrived to wait for him at the gate.

In true 'her' fashion she couldn't resist the urge to dress up, glittering in all her mermaid glory. But it was only when she saw him approaching that she really glowed, instinctively closing the distance to link their arms together.]

I was almost worried. [Only a little bit.] Where should we start first? I haven't been to one of these in... at least a few years.
