Nah. Extended metaphor that breaks down once you get to the cannibals and leather daddies. But it mostly works.

Well, you can think of all the realms' little factions as their own cliques. The ninjas stay at their table, and they used to hate the assassins who dress and act just like them and would get pissy if you call them "ninjas." Then you've got the goths in the Netherrealm, plus the metalhead jocks in Outworld who are in a civil war against the prep faction.

And then you've got us, the all-American football team.

Y'know, actually...kinda. There's Liu Kang and Kitana, though that's a long, fucked-up story in itself.

Well, I'll shorten it then. Kitana was a ten thousand year-old Princess of Outworld, and Liu Kang was Earthrealm's champion in Mortal Kombat. They each had a thing for one another, but they both died fighting against Shao Kahn. Then a Netherrealm sorcerer named Quan Chi brought them back to life as revenant slaves.

Even though Quan Chi is dead and Shinnok is incapacitated, this is where they still are.

Are they cognizant that they're together? If they are then that's still a happy ending. If not, then that's where the tragedy lies.

They're serving evil against their will. That's not happy no matter where they're at.

I would've thought you'd liberate them, since you're apparently the weapon against evil.
