WE'RE DATING, I scream from the mountaintop!
The Dating Meme

Dating is, when you think about, really weird. It's a totally different thing for different people. Some are friends for years before they date; others start dating on the same day they met. Sometimes, there's a lot mushy stuff involved; other times, the couple acts just like friends. None of this is necessarily right or wrong.
Whatever it is, your character and the character you reply to are now dating. How? That's up to you. Whether it be awkward or not, the relationship will be uniquely theirs.
How to Play
-Comment with your character and preferences.
-Reply to others.
-Have fun.
Prompts
1. Best Friends to More: Oh, wow, you've been this person's friend forever! But then you realize you have feelings for them, and they for you. Will things change when you change your status?
2. The Sudden Decision: Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here I am, date me maybe?
3. Confession: You've had feelings for this person for, like, ages, and you want to ask them to date you. Or maybe the confession just slips out...
4. Hate Date: You really don't like this person; actually, you hate them. But you don't want them to be with anyone else!
5. I Guess We're Dating: Huh. We are dating, aren't we? Everyone else knew before us...
6. Slow Decision: For the more mature and seasoned, they might fall into something sweet without needing to rush.
7. Been Burned Before: One of you has had a bad relationship, and now both of you have to bear that brunt if you want to date now.
8. Innocence: This is your first real relationship, so you have to figure it out together. That's harder than it looks.
9. Courting: You're from an old-fashioned world or are old-fashioned yourself, so it's courting, not dating. Still, maybe you can sneak away from the chaperon.
10. First Date: Your first true date. What's it like? What would happen if...I don't know...it went bad?
11. First Kiss: Of course.
12. First Time: Together or in general.
13. The Perfect Couple: The couple that never argues and is more like best friends than a couple.
14. The Not-So-Perfect Couple: Ugh, these guys always argue and seem to despise each other. Why are they even together?
15. Comfortable: You can do anything around or in front of your honey.
16. Not Cut Out for Dating: One of you is anti-social, a jerk, a stoic badass, whatever. You're not dating material...yet here you are.
17. Getting on Each Others' Nerves: Spending too much time together can get even the most patient people annoyed with the person they're dating.
18. Know What You Like: It's almost like they can read your mind, whether it be in the kitchen, at the store, or in the bedroom.
19. Trouble in Paradise: Maybe it's external factors, or perhaps internal, but whatever the case may be, things aren't looking so sunny.
20. Test the Strength: Someone else has an obvious crush on the person you're dating. What do you do?4. Hate Date: You really don't like this person; actually, you hate them. But you don't want them to be with anyone else!

23. Old Hat: This relationship is dull. Can you get back the spark?
24. End It: You don't want to date them anymore. You want to see other people.
25. Taking It to the Next Level: You don't want to date them anymore. You want to marry them.

ok
I said that I won't be partaking in that filth. That wouldn't be help—
[ he shuts his fan with a snapping noise, pointing it in hong lu's direction. ]
That is nothing but arrogance.
[ it's the arrogance to impose his will over yi sang's, when yi sang has made it clear that is NOT what he is into. ]
Do you not know what the meaning of the word "bargain" entails?
[ there's, like, give and take and both sides compromise and come to a middle ground... the branch is the middle ground! ]
ok not that one either
[ that doesn't have to be the case, though, as hong lu kicks his weapon to the side and walks over to yi sang so that they can be closer. he doesn't like the distance, so he does what he knows would be best. his eyes look to the flower petals embedded in his skin, and clothes, and he wonders if the seeds spread in his mind too. ]
I wouldn't know what to give you! Ah, unless you have something you want from me personally.
[ maybe a kiss, or some liquid, but that's really all he can give in this bargain. ]
Come to me, and I'll see what I have to offer!
hm?
There is nothing I want of you that I believe you are in a position to grant.
[ he doesn't move away as hong lu draws closer, although he does open his fan again, bringing it to cover the lower half of his face. ]
Or if I ask, shall you abandon your position and take leave of K Corp?
[ you could be a terrorist too, hong lu! it's not fun, and there are no benefits... but yi sang is there! ]
you hm me to mock me
[ now he has to be the one who "hm?"s because what is he saying??? ]
You know I can't do that.
[ because that's the job offered to him, and he couldn't be a terrorist, he'd be a horrible terrorist. it's why hong lu pauses, looking towards yi sang with the widest eyes like a child as though he doesn't understand what he's saying as he thinks it over. ]
If I thought of doing something like that, they'd terminate me. If I wasn't part of of K Corp, I would have never met you, you know~
[ now there's that goofy smile of his. ]
hmm...?
[ there are plenty of ways to break a contract, and an individual in hong lu's position has more power than he may realize, even against an entire corporation. it's just that the trickery needed to leverage that power hasn't occurred to him — in a sense, hong lu is innocent. ]
I find you worthy of both my pity and my scorn. You might never find a flower blooming in nature, undirtied by the artificial or the hands of deliberate cultivation, yet you refuse to struggle against that condemnation... ah, how sad. You should have accepted the branch.
[ for some reason, though, yi sang seems to be in a better mood now. he smiles in a way that doesn't feel like a smile at all and, with his free hand, beckons hong lu to come closer still. he'll allow it for now. ]
hm... I FOUND THE EMOJIS
[ they're afraid of him within the facility, and he doesn't know exactly why that is. his caseworkers jump in fright when he responds in silly ways, and with enough pestering they'll speak to him, or show him what he wants. ]
Does that mean you think about me all the time?
[ he laughs softly, drawing nearer while keeping his eyes on the other's hands to make sure there isn't something missing. searching for a weapon, or back-up by looking over yi sang's shoulders, he doesn't see anything he should be wary of. ]
You've never reached for me before, do you want to touch me now?
hmm...!
[ he THINKS that hong lu needs to give him a break already. also, sheesh, he is kind of a terrorist leader, which means he has a lot of things on his mind. perhaps sometimes hong lu drifts through his thoughts, but like, in a professional enemies kind of way... alright?
at any rate, he isn't carrying anything other than his fan, although arguably his entire body is a weapon at this point. then again, the same thing could be said about hong lu, so they're even as far as yi sang is concerned. ]
... Don't get ahead of yourself.
[ his body is full of kcorp filth... yi sang is not interested, thanks! ]
If you don't come close, then I can't get a proper look at you. But you're the one who has brought up touch, not me.
they're gone now.... :(
[ within the tube there's no smell, only the liquid that he's that circulates through his body that he's grown accustomed to; it's part of his body, so it feels like he's one with it, and the liquid one with him. his insides are filled to the brim, he's no longer his own person, and remains as an excision member.
they don't need to be thought about, however, hong lu has an undying need to go out and see what the world has to offer him. ]
Hm.
[ he catches yi sang's wrist tightly in his own grasp once close enough, leaning forward to sniff the other's arm first as a normal, and sane k corp member would do. ]
no subject
I am beginning to understand how it is that you can withstand such abnormal treatment.
[ hong lu was born abnormal... abnormal plus abnormal cancels out and makes things normal again. ]
If your curiosity has been satisfied, then relinquish me at once. Besides... the fragrance of these flowers is not yet complete...
[ if anything, the scent of camellias up close is probably overpowering to the point of being somewhat difficult to stomach, and is most pleasant when standing a few paces away from yi sang. ]
no subject
I want to see you bloom, Yi Sang, all you need to do is bleed, right?
[ if it's just that then he can make him bleed. he can bend the other's wrist to one side, wanting the bond to snap if he wants.
he doesn't, though. ]
To complete it, then let... me... help~
[ oh, and now he's going to try and snap the other's wrist. ]
no subject
his immediate reaction to getting his wrist snapped is to attempt to smash his closed fan into hong lu's face and tug his injured arm out of hong lu's grasp while gritting back a sound of pain, putting a bit of distance between them again. alright, his bad for letting his guard down, yi sang can admit that was his fault there but see if he ever lets hong lu within a pace ever again.
the situation is quite poor, because now he can't properly wield his spear even if he does attempt to pick it up, and even if he did manage to crush hong lu's eyes in, the k corp ampules will fix that sooner than later. if he tries to run away — well, all yi sangs aren't exactly built strong, and he thinks hong lu will win in a straightforward pursuit... whoa, this sucks!
well, desperate times call for desperate measures. yi sang decides to try to retrieve not his own weapon, but hong lu's, which should be quite damaging even against k corp staff — and besides that, it can split in half so he can wield it one-handed. ]
If you yearn for violence so badly, then fine — let's fight.
[ yi sang's at only one fully functional hand, hong lu's had his weapon stolen... that's about even, right? ]
no subject
shattering his wrist didn't seem to be the correct choice, and that's why he stands there confused at yi sang stealing his own weapon to use against him. he knits his brows, then raises one unsure of what the other's game is here, and then with a warm smile he looks to the other as though he's done no wrong. ]
Does that not help your flowers? I thought it would...
[ since they fight all the time, and so why wouldn't it help pollinate them a bit more or whatever it is that this terrorist needs. that's why hong lu doesn't move, and he allows yi sang to wield his weapon against him. ]
We don't have to fight if you really don't want to, but you're still pretty with a broken wrist. Just like those petals.
[ he isn't looking to be forgiven, instead he's saying what's on his mind. ]
no subject
the worst part of all of this is that yi sang knows he's still at a disadvantage, so he should continue to avoid the fight. god does not love him. ]
Ah, is that so. Then, if I said that the flowers need to be bathed in your blood to flourish, would you cut your flesh and skin for me?
[ or are you a fake fan...??? ]
how many times is this abt to post
It'll return back to normal, but if that's what you want... lay down beneath me.
[ he hasn't moved from his spot, and he's waiting for the other to lay down on the floor.
hong lu squats down waiting for the other to come over this time. ]
no subject
ugh fine he's coming back over, but he doesn't look as if he likes it. he is still clutching hong lu's weapon in a way that suggests he's ready to bisect hong lu with it if he so much as moves funny. ]
... I'll sit, but I won't lay down.
[ and rather than sit, it's more like he's crouching. also, now that the adrenaline is going down a bit, his broken wrist is starting to hurt like hell. this is still the worst date at the moment, hong lu is going to have to really step it up if he wants yi sang to reconsider how bad this date is going. ]
no subject
all it takes is tearing the flesh, and blood should trickle down if he's lucky. the air teases his skin, a curious sensation that he adjusts himself to as he's never without his armor unless it's the top half, and he doesn't believe he ever will be. he's kept within this suit for a reason with its fluids coursing through his body keeping him going, he enjoys the feeling of it mixed with his expectations that going through all this pain will welcome him a new, and exciting experience.
with the debris looming over them, it's like a makeshift secret club that no one knows about in an apocalyptic era. only they know the worth behind it for now, whay hong lu thinks, as he points to his wrist, instructing yi sang to pay attention. ]
Cut there.
no subject
alright, let's slit hong lu's wrists together. will hong lu even be able to bleed continuously when he's hooked up to k corp fluids the way that he is? with that in mind, there's no reason to hold back; he cuts through with decisive force, the blade slicing through skin without piercing through the delicate bones in the wrist. then he applies force until it seems like the bleeding won't heal up almost instantly...
cutting foreplay before he gets tired and dismembers hong lu. ]
Is this what you wanted?
[ absolutely weird taste. ]
no subject
I want to see them at their best! [ the beauty of that's yet to be seen because it's not ready yet. ] Is that so bad?
[ it's when he allows yi sang to leave that this will be the only sight he's able to recall before going into stasis, where his life pauses, and he accepts those dreamless nights. to remember the blood-stained petals instead gives him reason to return back to the tube where they keep him confined until they need him again. ]
When's the best time to cover them in blood, ah... was I too late? Should I see you tomorrow even earlier?
[ if he's told then he can make arrangements, maybe. ]
no subject
[ where hong lu's blood falls, not only does the flower petals become stained red — but more buds bloom from yi sang's body, bursting through his skin and shedding yi sang's own blood in turn. but because it's only a small number of buds tearing through his body, the amount of bloodshed isn't enough to bleed through yi sang's clothes yet.
it hurts much less than having his wrist broken, which is beginning to swell painfully. after all, budding is a part of a flower's lifecycle — being a natural thing, it barely hurts at all except a momentary sting when the flowers burst through.
he presses down harder, the blade making an unsettling sound as it begins to crunch through bone. when mere pressure alone isn't enough to continue severing the flesh and cartilage, he begins to saw through. ]
Do you have the resolution for it...?
no subject
Do you like it?
[ he wonders childishly, no different from a little boy holding a gift behind his back, and topped off with a red bow. the blood wraps around his arm like so, the drips trickling down onto the flowers underneath to coat them crimson still.
it's with a quirk of his brow, then a lift of his head that he acknowledges his words. "the resolution," he says, and that must mean hong lu needs to find an answer. ]
I'm driven by this. [ he emphasizes this with his own might, drawing his arm up to guide the blade deeper into his flesh. the blood flows at faster intervals, the camellias are lotus pads in a sea of red that hong lu offers to him.
hong lu leans forward to press his forehead against yi sang's, nuzzling into him. ]
no subject
[ it's the same principle. humans breathe to live, flowers bloom for the same reason — liking or disliking it is beyond the point.
flowerbuds continue to burst through the skin across his shoulders and back as hong lu offers the petals sustenance, finally enough he begins to bleed through his clothes. the color of the flowers coated in hong lu's blood seem to take on a color that's different from the shade of blood — something brighter and harsher — somewhere in between their original coloring and the red of hong lu's blood. ]
If you're truly resolved, then drain yourself until 'I' bloom...
[ he can still flourish so, so much more — he can feel it bubbling underneath his skin, flowers begging to be born into the world, from his flesh and his bones through his skin. someday, his body will return to the earth, and this may be the manifestation of his wish to leave it a more beautiful place than when he entered it.
he laughs harshly, low in his throat, and tilts his head to scrape his teeth against hong lu's cheek before leaning to murmur into his ear: ]
Should you not express your gratitude?
[ it's a sight few will live to see, after all. surely, it's worth the pain and the rot? ]
no subject
he exhales, he remembers that he's alive from the pain, and that this position is what he wanted. allowing his grandmother to hand him this job has been the best decision so far, one that he wouldn't change, and it's with yi sang's voice tickling his ear that he knows the terrorist wouldn't understand. ]
If they knew I was offering my blood...
[ the chances would be high that he'd get suspended, or they'll forgive him with the caveat that missions that revolve around yi sang that he's supervised. a resolute, trained eye like the one hong lu offers upon the blossoms is needed to watch after him.
his eyes flutter down to the cut, muscles and blood weaving together like a web, the spider invisible as its' legs pull threads and strands together, rebuilding his arm as well as force the blade out from between the flesh. yi sang will have to cut further, harder if to spill more for his blooming. ]
They'd never believe you could become so beautiful, aha~
[ his laugh ends off playful, airy as he inhales again when his free hand reaches for yi sang's wrist that holds the weapon. ]
Let me, let me rip them all out to watch you bloom over and over again, I want to see your beauty from start to finish~
[ his iron grip, a steady hand reaching to hold a rose's thorns with not much care. he doesn't care how much blood he looses to see this throat, but losing blood together sounds ...
ideal?
he doesn't know much when it comes to that word, but he's happy to adjust as his hand smooths down yi sang's arm, and his grip wraps around the flowers gently as eyes: one like the obsidian sea, and the other a monster peeking above the surface, driven by hunger.
a feast before his eyes. ]
no subject
... You cannot afford the fare that is necessary to see that sight.
[ the roots of the flowers run deep, and pulling them out would require a great deal of both effort and brutality — but somehow, yi sang has a feeling that hong lu could manage it somehow. he smiles in a tense way, not a smile at all in spirit. his body hurts, both his broken wrist and something that runs far deeper than that.
his breathing becomes heavy and ragged — it feels like something will burst forth sooner or later, and he does not know if he will be able to control it. ]
I told you that you should have taken the branch, didn't I?
[ it would have been a gift far cheaper to take and to give. yi sang's grasp on the k corp weapon tightens; he twists it in his grasp, wedging the blade into hong lu's forearm in a way that is cruelly brusque, until hong lu's hand remains only loosely attached to the rest of his body — if the point were to dismember him, then there were smoother ways to do it, instead of leaving his hand hanging by a few visible fibers of flesh and skin.
and the blood continues to flow, as yi sang's body slowly transforms from something resembling a cultivated garden to a mass of nature. flowers are blooming, and flowers are blooming, and flowers are blooming—
and branches are sprouting from his ribs out of his back, beginning to entangle the two of them, like the briars protecting sleeping beauty's castle. ]
... You should yield. Because... the artificial is always but a pale imitation of what is natural.
[ in other words: he believes his blooming can overcome the extent of what the hp ampules can recover. ]
no subject
[ his body can prove it as the blood flows. the thin webs of flesh that connect back together to return his arm to what it once was does so before yi sang's eyes. the different is that it's begging to be cut more to the same song and dance, that means the melody of his bone crunching will come to their ears soon. his fingers twitch from the pinky to the ring to the middle then to the index all together, and finally his thumb as they curl all together into a fist to show that he still has control.
his other hand curls tighter around the petals, his fingers dig into where the skin splits on yi sang's arm, forcing the skin to part in order to witness the beautiful shade of yellow that hides underneath. ]
Aha~ Why take a branch when I can tend to the entire tree with only my blood?
[ that's why he can prune yi sang himself. he tugs with force as he wants to hear the wet tear of his actions, smiling widely in happiness. this job of his was perfectly suited for him as he's unable to rot, and in return, he can cover yi sang's new growth in his liquid.
opening his hand allows flowers to rain onto the ground mixed with blood, a heavy splat until his hand now reaches for something else — the extension of a branch that's in his reach. his fingers wrap around it, thumb gently massaging the hardness to gauge how fragile that is. it's with a smirk he leans forward, tilting his head to the side, and brushes his lips lightly against yi sang's own... it's not a true kiss, however. another breathy chuckle as he twists his wrist, snapping at the branch. ]
I'll fertilize... every part of you if I must.
[ his mouth parts, his tongue slowly brushes against yi sang's bottom lip leaving behind a bit of saliva with a green hue. ]
no subject
there is almost something enjoyable about it — almost, but not quite. ]
The branch is something that could have been yours, and this... it is not.
[ don't get any delusions about that, he doesn't express, although it is conveyed partially through his tone.
his eye flutters shut as hong lu snaps one of his branches — still, it doesn't hurt the way that his wrist did, and it occurs to him that the body he was born with is truly a weak one compared to the one he has cultivated — what stings is the taste of something vaguely artificial that hong lu leaves on his lip.
the branches suddenly grow inwards, threatening to entangle and pierce through hong lu's body at random points. when yi sang opens his eye, he glowers, clearly incensed by hong lu's actions. ]
... Don't you dare touch me with such filth. This is... an act that must be pure.
[ it won't be tainted by the tears of another. ]
Know that even if you fail to comprehend, you must heed my words nonetheless.
[ because what those ampules do runs exactly contrary to metamorphasis.
and there goes the blade through hong lu's forearm again, this time half-severing through the wrist before slicing upwards, towards his elbow joint. ]
