[Hiyori glances away from the fake stars and over at Elan-kun. Never, huh? It makes sense that he's eager for new experiences. All the same, Hiyori wasn't sure when or if they'd be making plans again.]

That I do! Though I've also got quite a busy schedule...

[Overnight trips can be hard. Days off are easy enough to come by, but landing two in a row is harder. Then there's another consideration, one he doesn't mention out loud—how would he justify the trip? He'd probably just need to lie and say he got called home, or something. Saying he was going on a hot springs visit with some boy outside ES is bound to raise eyebrows (though thankfully not as many eyebrows as going on a trip with some girl outside ES).

Still, Hiyori never lets people boss him around, not even his own producer. And the thought of visiting a hot spring—of opening Elan-kun up to one more new experience—is nice. Not to mention all the fun they'd have in the hotel room...

So he smiles, knee bumping lightly against Elan's.]

Well, I'll look into it, anyway. A room at a nice traditional inn, and a hot spring with a view... ♪ Those both sound absolutely wonderful.

Maybe I'll even be able to pay you back for it.

[ He snorts. ]

After all, I can't let you pay for everything, can I? What kind of ingrate would I be if I just let you treat me?

[ Although honestly, that'd be easy. And maybe he's not thinking too far beyond what might or could happen or how difficult it might be for Hiyori... but this whole thing is a nice thought. Something he's indulging in a little, even if it's also entirely outside of his experience. ]

It's a bit hard to pay someone back without a job, isn't it?

[Unless Elan-kun comes from wealth. But he doubts it, or else why was he being put to work all day?]

Have you found another one of those since you quit the last one? If so, you can pay for your half if you want. But if not, you'll just have to pay me back in other ways, like by being extra sweet to me...♪

[At least he's not crude enough to suggest Elan pay him back with his body.]

If I have to. You're not leaving me much choice, hmm?

[ He's teasing, mostly. Although he doesn't like being indebted to people all that much. ]

But I guess your terms are fair enough.

Glad you think so!

[He sits back in the tub, his satisfied smile mirroring Elan's.]

You'll focus on finding another job that's better than the last one, and I'll focus on my work! And then, when we meet again, we'll both be shining brighter than we were on the day we met! Doesn't that sound lovely?

Yes... it does.

[ He sinks down into the water a little, his gaze wondering to the ceiling.

What does that even mean, in the end? Guess he'll find out. ]

[Elan-kun seems deep in thought. Probably contemplating his future or some such. For once, Hiyori doesn't interrupt, choosing instead to relax quietly in the bath. He'll count the (fake) stars and enjoy a nice long soak, his nostrils filled with the scent of moonlight.

It's only later, after his skin's acquired a light red flush, that he opens his mouth to break the silence.]

My fingers are starting to get all pruney... Are you all set in here, or did you want to stay a bit longer?

Oh - I think I'll stay a little longer, if that's alright. I want to do some thinking.

[ Look at him, he's got thoughts. ]

[Good to know there's stuff going on in that pretty head.]

Mm, that's fine. I'll leave you to that, then.

[In the meantime, though, he'll be climbing out before he turns into a prune. Elan can enjoy one last chance to ogle him as he towels off, assuming he's not too deep in thought for that. Sadly, it'll be the last chance, since Hiyori's grabbing his clothes on the way out. Yep, it's time to change into those again.

Whenever Elan does get out, he'll find him sitting on a clean corner of the bed with his phone in-hand. There were a couple of new messages left in the Eden groupchat while he was getting busy, though nothing important, thankfully.]

[ He finally emerges a little while after Hiyori. He's been thinking about... a lot of things. Mostly he wanted a chance to collect himself so he wouldn't be quite so vulnerable. He steps out with a stretch and then wanders over to the bed, feeling very clean, and flops down alongside Hiyori with a low sigh. ]

How much time do we have left?

[Hiyori looks up from his phone with a smile.]

Welcome back~♪

[He watches Elan flop down on top of the spaceship bed, looking like a cat who's ready for a nap. It's cute, but unfortunately there's not much time for one of those right now.]

We've got about thirty minutes left. Any longer than that, and we'll get a call offering to extend our stay for an extra fee. Which would be fine, except I probably ought to head back soon...

[He has the day off. But he did have to make up an alibi, since he couldn't exactly tell his unit he was going on a date with a pretty boy and finishing things in a love hotel. If anyone questions him, he'll tell them off, of course, but it'll start looking suspicious if he gets back too late.

He tips his phone towards Elan, thumb hovering over the Internet browser.]

Want to hear a few songs? I could even play you the videos, too...♪

[ He tries to stifle a yawn. ]

...don't wanna get scolded, huh? I don't blame you.

[ He laughs and then rolls onto his side to peer at Hiyori. ]

Sure. I might as well listen. You are a famous singer, right? I should learn a little more about you.

[Hey, he's not afraid of some automated voice scolding him! But he doesn't bother to mention this, chirping back at Elan with a smile.]

Close, but not quite! I'm a famous idol, which is even more impressive than a singer ♪ Here, let me show you what I mean...

[And so he opens his browser in search of a video. There are lots of options and he's not sure which is the best to go with, but he makes a speedy decision based on two factors: first, they have limited time, so it's probably best to show Elan the abridged version of some of their songs; and second, it makes the most sense to start from the beginning of their discography. That's why he selects The Genesis, loading up the video and clicking the fullscreen option before angling his phone more towards Elan.]

This was our debut. Or well, it was Eden's debut—Eden actually splits into two units sometimes, which I'll show you in a minute! But first, here's this.

[And with that, he hits Play. The lyrics, if Elan cares, are full of Biblical references, "forbidden fruit" and "gates of paradise" and all. Despite this being their debut, the members' choreography and mannerisms all look rather polished. And speaking of choreography, the synchronized hip-thrusting at 1:22 could be considered a highlight! If you're into that, anyway. Their fans sure are.]

[ He watches with an amused look on his face. He's never been too much into the whole idea of idols or bands or other things like that, but this is incredibly entertaining all the same. And the song's nice, honestly. He even taps a toe in time with the beat. ]

How long did you guys spend working on that choreography? That must have take some time, right?

Several weeks, I think? It was our debut, and Jun-kun and Ibara were both rather new to performing, so it took longer for them to pick things up back then. They're much quicker on the uptake nowadays.

[With the video frozen on its last shot, Hiyori points his finger at the screen.]

Ibara's the one on the far left, and then the one standing in the middle with me is Nagisa-kun! He's Eden's official leader, and the two of us go way back. Then the one on the far right is Jun-kun! He's my partner in Eve—when I said we split into two units, that's what I meant. There's another unit called Eve, which is just me and Jun-kun, and then there's a unit called Adam, which is Nagisa-kun and Ibara. My work with Eve tends to be rather different, so I could show you one of those videos next. It'd make the most sense to start with Eve's debut, I suppose. Although...

[He trails off suggestively, shooting Elan a look.]

Are you alright seeing me with another man? I don't want to make you feel jealous!

[ He listens in mostly silence, making a little hmmm noise as they go on - and then his cheeks flush as Hiyori teases him and he responds with a low little scoff. ]

...we're not dating or anything, are we?

[ There's not exactly jealousy there. But - well, there's something.

But he's not going to say it out loud! ]

Nope!

[A matter-of-fact response.]

Though I guess we went on a date...

[But that's not the same thing as dating. He doesn't say it, but they both know. He's been on other dates before, some of which ended in hotels and some of which didn't, but he's never "dated" anyone. That would imply something different, like love, or at least committment. Like having a future together.

Then again, he's also never lounged around in bed showing off performance videos to someone he took on a date. Part of that is because he wasn't really an established idol the last time he dated around—he was just getting started, and his old unit wasn't all over the Internet. But he also just wasn't as proud of his work back then; he put in effort, sure, and his old unit pulled off some good performances... but that wasn't the kind of idol he wanted to be. That didn't feel like him onstage.

This, he feels differently about. His work as a member of Eden, and his work as the leader of Eve—both of those represent him, and he wants to share them. Especially with Elan-kun, who's never listened to much music. Who's missed out on all sorts of wonderful joys in life. As his experience with Nagisa taught him, it's never too late to start truly living.

He tabs down the list of suggested videos, thumb hovering over the one he was talking about.]

I just didn't want to do anything insensitive, that's all! But if you're fine with it, I'll show you exactly what kind of chemistry my partner and I have. The kind that shocked and delighted our audience...♪

We did.

[ Elan admits. He's just - he's not particularly sure he's interested in wanting anything more right now. Maybe ever. He's dealing with a lot. And he also isn't sure where he's going to end up when this is all over. But... it is sort of flattering that there's the idea that there might be something else. He's just not quite sure he feels. He nudges Hiyori with his foot as he focuses on the phone and the video. Whatever he's about to see, he's sure it's going to be something. ]

But don't worry, you're not going to break my heart and make me feel all mopey. I know that we don't have anything like that. And besides... I'm a little more resilient than some people give me credit for, anyway.

[If there was going to be "something else" starting up, there'd be a lot to talk about first. Like the need for secrecy, given his career. Or the fact he already has two people he loves, meaning any prospective partner can only ever rank #3 in his heart. Both of which would be very serious and un-fun conversations.

Thankfully, there's no need for any of that at the moment, and Elan nudges him as though to say get on with it. Hiyori hums thoughtfully in response to his words, then smiles.]

Yep. You sure are, huh?

[Elan-kun's had a tough life. Hiyori doesn't know the details, but that much is clear. Yet he's still choosing to put himself out there and start living for himself, which is good.

And one of the best parts of living? Being able to enjoy his music and his videos, of course! Hiyori goes ahead and clicks on the thumbnail.]

In that case, just sit back and enjoy ♪

[And then he hits play on Eve's debut. Right from the get-go, it should be obvious why he made that quip about jealousy: he and his stage partner are leaning in for a fake kiss before the music's even started! But then the horns start to blare, and they jump away from each other, sliding into a dance.

The song is catchy jazz fusion, the singing sweet and synchronized. He and his partner sound awfully similar on this one, and that's because Jun—who didn't have much vocal training—was trying his best to match Hiyori's voice. The lyrics are seductive, both boys promising to steal the listener's heart and make them fall into their "trap." The choreography, however, which includes more touching and another feint kiss, suggests a different interpretation: that they're singing those words to each other. Perhaps the forbidden affair going on is really theirs. Gasp!

Hiyori smiles shamelessly while the video plays, no more embarrassed about this song than he was about The Genesis. If anything, it's sort of nostalgic, watching their debut after so much time has passed. Ah, memories.

It ends on a shot of him and Jun smirking triumphantly, like they're proud of what they just pulled off. The real Hiyori is also proud, turning to Elan to cheerfully ask,]

So, what'd you think? Did we make your heart race? ♪

[ Fortunately or unfortunately, Elan is a bit cynical. Well, more than a bit. But he does watch the little music video play out on the screen, his gaze tracking the movements and listening to the music as it blazes out of the little speakers. There's a little laugh from him at the start and then he settles with a low little hum, head bobbing slightly with the tune. It's a little melodramatic, he thinks, but it is an idol music video, he supposes. They're all sort of like that, aren't they?

He glances at Hiyori as it starts to wind down. ]

Not as much as the real thing. And I'm also probably not the target audience for it... but it was a fun watch.

[ As said... cynical. Just a bit. ]

[Was that the ideal response he was hoping for? Honestly, not really! But he (sort of) knows what to expect, and that first comment earns a sly smile.]

Aha, yep, Elan-kun got the real thing from me ♪ And even more than that, too! I'm sure everyone in the audience at that show would simply love to be in your shoes right now...♪

[That, or they'd want to watch. The choreography was aimed at that crowd, after all. He knocks their knees together, turning the phone back towards himself for now.]

By the way, what'd you think of Jun-kun? Is he your type too? Or is it still me, mainly?

Mmm. He's not too bad on the eyes, I guess.

[ He sounds a little careless about that assessment. ]

I think I prefer you so far, though.

Oh~? ♪ Well, that settles it!

[With that ambiguous statement, he resumes scrolling the list of videos again, pulling another one up in a flash. Though right afterwards, he explains himself.]

Instead of Jun-kun's center song, I'll show you my center first! There's some backstory behind how we're acting in the video, but it's not that important, so I won't get into it right now! Just enjoy...♪

[So now he's hitting Play on another one. This one features the whole group, though they come across more like two duos this time, with Adam wearing one color scheme and Eve wearing another. It's unclear what Hiyori meant by "how they're acting"—maybe he's talking about how they seem a bit more aggressive than usual? There's this moment before the second chorus starts where he and Nagisa sort of stare each other down! All four members are standing together onstage at the end, however, seeming fine with each other.

Other highlights include more Biblical references in the lyrics, and a moment at the beginning where he and his partner cup each other's faces while singing about burning desire. Can't forget to give the fans some service!]

Ohhh, spicy.

[ He observes with a laugh as he watches the little showdown and the ongoing singing. It's an interesting show, for sure. Kind of enticing and he sort of wonders what the story behind the ~drama~ is. He covers his mouth with a hand and stifles a laugh. ]

You all look like you're having fun. Do you get a lot of adoring notes from your fans?

[Hiyori looks up from the screen with a blink, before letting out a soft laugh. Of all the words he's heard fans use to describe their performances, "spicy" isn't normally one of them! (Though he has heard "hot" before.) And he's not sure what to make of Elan stifling a laugh, either. But he didn't sound mocking, and he does seem interested in what's happening onscreen, so Hiyori forgives it.]

Yep, sure do ♪ We get bags and bags of them! And they're always so colorful, too. Letters in cute envelopes, letters printed on cute stationery... It's interesting, since you'd think most people would've switched to social media messages by now. But some people prefer writing them by hand, I think because it feels more personalized? Like giving someone homemade chocolate instead of just buying some in a store... But we cherish all our fan messages equally, of course ♪
