You're a pop star, or a royal, or maybe even the last of your kind who will bring about the Earth's redemption. Whatever the case may be, you're in a position that may be a bit dicey if you attract the wrong kind of attention.

And you're a bodyguard, a soldier, a knight - a protector. Somehow, you've been roped into protecting this person. You'll be rewarded, of course. The work may be cut out for you, but just do your job, keep your head down, and it'll go smooth.

Except for when the two of you break the bounds of professionalism and feelings begin to flourish. Being in such close quarters may get you to see the other in a different light, and saving someone's life just may be the ultimate form of intimacy.

Could this be the real danger? To feel so strongly for the one you've sworn to protect...are you compromised?

How to Play
1. Comment with your character and preferences, being sure to put if you want to play the guard, the guarded, or either. Also, you may want to put if you prefer fluffy, angsty, or smutty interaction - or have no preference.
2. Comment to others.
3. There are no prompts, because there are so many potential options there could be a hundred. Feel free to play anything: the beginnings of the relationship, just meeting, getting used to each other/not getting along at first, the obligatory first time, a threat on the protected's life and how their protector responds, how the feelings between the two has changed the protection, etc. Your only limit is you.

[Visibly concerned, no. But they were walking through a back alley way. One arm might be on Ryou's arm, but the other never strayed too far from the gun hidden in his jacket. If there was one thing he did do, he took the Royals' and those they charged him to watch, protection very seriously.]

A block from the bookstore. The original plan had been to sneak out without a confrontation then have Gino pick us up.

[His features tighten somewhat.]

As much as he can be a flake, I'm sure he or Anya saw something that made them change the plans without informing me.

[What could have changed their minds without informing Suzaku, she wondered. Did they recognize the thugs, or did they say or do something that indicated they were out for blood of at least one of them? She still didn't specifically know which one of them they were after since she didn't recognize them.]

Wonder what they saw, if it warranted them to go against the original plan... [Probably something to ask once they actually did meet up.]

[He would have rather that Gino had contacted him first, but he trusts the other Knight. Anya too. He knows something had to be been said or done, of that they had noticed something that Suzaku and Ryou couldn't have seen from inside the store.]

You didn't recognize them at all?

No, not at all. [Though that wasn't saying much, all things considered. She only had half an idea of what the Spirit did in her body. The most she knew was the aftermath of his... sessions.]

[But, since they were in a back alley with no other people around (supposedly), maybe it was time to tell Suzaku the truth. Quietly, she pulled out a notebook and started drawing a circular sort of shape with a pyramid in middle.]

You said that you're not really familiar with the Millennium Items, right? [She finishes up the small doodle, almost a perfect representation of the real thing. She could probably sculpt it from memory with how well she knew all of it's little crevices and parts.] But does this look familiar to you? [The Spirit did have a tendency to wear it openly when he's in control.]

I may not recognize them, but I have a feeling they know about this Item and what it can do.

[Suzaku narrows his eyes as he studies the picture, his ear piece already in his ear as he calls Gino.]

It does, yes.

[He thinks it's something that Charles had mentioned to him in passing once.

The moment Gino picks up, Suzaku's barking out orders, mostly about detaining them and transporting them back to the palace. He has a feeling that Lelouch is going to want to have a word with them.]

[She was quiet for a moment, waiting for him to be done giving orders before thinking of speaking up again. Her voice is quieter too, not sure how long it's going to take Gino to find them now that Suzaku was not happy with him for disobeying orders.]

...It's mine. I ...'own' it.

[It's not that Suzaku is not happy with Gino, but his gut is telling him that there is more to this.

Ryou said it was part of the reason Lelouch was keeping her around after all.

He raises and eyebrow at this.]

And that's the reason that you could have possible 'done' things to them, right?

[She was hesitant at first. She's not very comfortable with talking about this openly, but she eventually does nod.]

Yes. Possibly could have done a lot of things to them. I just don't any specifics, or even when I could have met them...

We'll figure it out, Ryou, don't worry.

[He knows Lelouch will use his Geass on the thugs if he has to. And Suzaku knows that for something like this, he can't argue against it.]

[Except that she does know, vaguely, what those guys were after, if they were indeed after her. She just didn't feel it was a subject to talk so openly about, especially she can't just take out the Ring and show him what she meant. She didn't want to run the risk of the Spirit learning about the child, or what would happen once he took over. Her body did change slightly when he took over, so the child would be in danger then, too. It was just better that she kept the Ring as distant from her as possible.]

[On the journey back to the palace, she was quiet again, only speaking when spoken to. She had a lot of explaining to do once they met up with Lelouch anyway, she knew. The trick was keeping herself together until then.]

[Suzaku had been busy issuing orders as soon as he met up with Gino and Anya at the meeting point, their bounty already on the way to be dealt with.

It takes a little while before Suzaku's attention returns to Ryou, after he's made sure things have been taken care of, arranged and he has sent word to Lelouch that they need to talk.

When he does find her, he watches her for a long moment before approaching her.]

His Majesty will probably send for us soon. Are you all right?

[Sick with dread, mostly, and probably a little bit of left over morning sickness was trying to make its final mark before the second trimester began and it disappeared completely. Or maybe it was another side effect she didn't know about influencing her mood, but she was not looking forward to seeing and speaking with Lelouch and Suzaku at the same time, especially about the Ring. She knew that Suzaku wasn't going to like this... at all.]

Y-yes, I'm fine. [She can do this. She can trust these two. No need to be nervous about anything.]

[Yet, he'd be more pissed at Lelouch for keeping something that could potentially blow up in their faces and kill them all secret from the one who was supposed to be in charge of his bodyguards.

He doesn't blame Ryou for it, not really anyway, since he can certainly understand keeping secrets, but he believes the moment Lelouch had found out, he should have been informed. At the very least he could keep an eye out for anything strange.]

You'll be fine. It'll probably be mostly me yelling at him anyway.

[Mostly at Lelouch still meant that there was a chance he might yell at her too. Not much of one, but the potential was still there. Just something about that made her uneasy. Lelouch had known about the Spirit for a while now. Why he hadn't informed Suzaku about him, she didn't know...]

He has known about this for a while... I don't know why he hasn't told you.

Because he can be a secretive jerk.

[It was on the tip of his tongue to call him something worse, but Ryou was a lady.]

He has his reasons and they're probably good reasons, but I'm still mad at him anyway.

[She's probably heard a lot worse that what you were about to call him. No need to censor yourself around her. She's a girl, yes, but not a 'lady' lady. Not yet, technically.]

Maybe... it was just his way of protecting me. Outside of Lelouch, there are relatively few people that know about this, especially the entire truth of the matter. [If it comes to it, she won't hold anything back. Even the things she hasn't told Lelouch about.]

[Suzaku nods. That would make a lot of sense, actually.]

Well, he has been known to do drastic things to protect those he cares about.

[He gestures with a hand.]

All this was originally started to protect Nunnally, after all. Only I think as he get deeper into it, it turned into much more.

[It certainly had turned into a lot, even from her perspective, having not known Lelouch or Nunnally as long as Suzaku has.]

Might have been a few times he was in over his head, I assume? [Not everything goes right for everyone, after all. She would know.]

Not that it matters now...

A few, yes.

[A lot of those times due to Suzaku himself. Such as selling him out to the Emperor.]

How do you mean?

...Just thinking out loud. There are probably still times now he's in over his head. [And that's Suzaku's and C.C.'s job, to make sure he's not too far into trouble.]

Wonder when they're going to call us in...

[Suzaku gives a shrug of his shoulder.]

He is who is he is. You know that just as well as I do. Even if you haven't known him as long. His Majesty is liar, manipulator, but at the same time, he genuinely does care for this world and it's people. This started with Nunnally but it ended up being so much more, even if he won't admit to it.

[He sighs, straightening.]

I will admit that I did not like most of his methods, after all, our philosophical differences were vastly different, and at times, still are, but I trust him with my life. If it hadn't been for him, we wouldn't be here right now.

It shouldn't be long now. He was talking to the UFN when I passed him the note.

[She nods, always the attentive listener. Though, she was getting tired again so she gave a quick look around of the area and saw a comfy looking spot near a window. Don't mind if she walks a little bit away from you to go over there. You can join her if you want.]

Sorry, I just couldn't stay standing up for much longer. I have been teased that my two favorite positions lately is sitting down or laying down, so this is me proving them right, once again. [A small tease directed to herself. It was true, wasn't it?]

But, yes... without Lelouch, a lot things wouldn't be possible right now... maybe even the two of us meeting. [She probably would have never met someone like Suzaku if he wasn't attached to Lelouch. Or like anyone else she knows because of Lelouch.]

[He will, one because Ryou's pregnant and he doesn't want to leave her alone and two, she is still under his protection.]

Well, considering your condition, it's easy to see why they would be.

[Suzaku glances down at the top of her head as she speaks of their meeting.]

If we did, I doubt it would have been like this.

[Well, it's not like she's in danger here, and she's not feeling sick or in pain, so... She can at least enjoy his company.]

...If not for him, I'd probably still be on the streets back in Japan, just living out a miserable existence. [Life was not easy for the Japanese after the Invasion, after all.]

That would depend, I would think. On if you meant that he and Princess Nunnally were never exiled to Japan or if we had never reunited after the invasion?
