texting generally speaking.
You’ve got your TFLN, you’ve got your sexting, now here’s the meme for all those gen texts, phone calls, voicemails, pictures of your cats, and whatever else your little heart can come up with, because who doesn't like a little old fashioned friendly texting. (Or enemy texting, if that's more your bag.)
instructions: What it says on the tin! Leave a comment with your character, include preferences, a start, absolutely nothing or whatever you want. Run around and reply to others. Lather, rinse, repeat.

[ together, they'll have to change that. jun will see to it personally that dal gets to see more of the city. he's been here for about a year, himself, and has spent much of that time going to various parts of the city. he hasn't really properly explored but he's visited a variety of places ]
That's fine! I'm totally free for the next few months so you can just let me know when you do have some free time. We can figure things out after that.
no subject
You're so nice!
no subject
You're my friend so I figure it's the least I can do.
no subject
I am?
no subject
jun lifts his head to look over at dal, his expression blank ]
Don't you want to be? My friend, I mean. I can do more, if that's what you want. [ for dal. buy him things. just give him money for whatever he needs. whatever ]
no subject
(( The answer comes without a shred of hesitation. His smile is blindingly bright for a split second before he tempers his enthusiasm. ))
I haven't had a friend in a long time.
no subject
[ there's a few long moments of nothing else from jun. no follow-up, no change in expression, nothing except for jun merely staring at dal. then all at once, his entire face brightens and his demeanor changes almost entirely. he visibly relaxes and smiles just a brightly as dal does ]
Neither have I. I mean, I guess I have but- [ not real friends. superficial friends ] Let's be friends.
no subject
We will be. No, we are. And you don't have to do anything to earn that, okay? I'm happy just to spend time with you.
no subject
Okay. [ he doesn't sound entirely convinced that dal's friendship isn't something that needs to be earned, but he's pleased to hear it, even still ] I'm happy spending time with you too.
no subject
Dal smiles at Jun's answer. That's another thing. People don't typically spend time with Dal simply to spend time with him. So he's very happy to hear to Jun enjoying being together with him. ))
What kind of things do you like to do?
no subject
after just sort of soaking the whole thing in for a short period, jun squeezes dal's hands in return ]
Back home, my friends liked to go out drinking and clubbing a lot. [ he doesn't really do much on his own ]
no subject
Do you like doing that?
no subject
but he still enjoys it well enough ]
I like being with my friends.
no subject
I don't drink much. It interferes with my job. And I usually work at night, so I've never been to a club. But we can do that if you want!
no subject
When we're out, I usually only drink if my friends are. [ 'so drink as much or as little as you want' basically ]
Okay. Let's do it. Some night when you're not working, let me know. We'll find some place that looks fun.
no subject
(( He's never been to a club before. Does he need to dress up? Or dress differently? Help! ))
no subject
[ he smiles and nods at dal, trying to encourage him to agree ]
no subject
(( Dal looks down. It's not meant as a self-conscious gesture, though it probably comes off like one. ))
I didn't bring a lot of money for that...
no subject
[ sure, dal may have said that jun doesn't have to do anything to earn his friendship, but that doesn't mean jun isn't going to still treat him to things. spending money on his friends is a little too ingrained in him at this point.
jun pulls one of his hands from dal's grasp and gently pats the seat in front of him to get to cab driver's attention ] Excuse me, you could actually let us out here? Thank you.
[ english with the cab driver, then he switches back to korean as he turns toward dal once more ] We're pretty close. I figured we could talk the rest of the way.
no subject
When the taxi stops, he doesn't let go of Jun's hand. Which means he crawls across the backseat to exit out of Jun's side of the car. Dal actually feels a little nervous since he's outside of his usual habitat. The sun's out, people are wandering up and down the sidewalk, the shops are open. It's all very different from what he's used to.
Don't mind him squeezing Jun's hand just a little tighter. ))
no subject
jun doesn't even try to pull his hand free of dal's when the taxi driver pulls over to let them out. instead, he digs his wallet out of his pocket one-handed and pulls some cash out for the driver. he slides out of the car and closes the door once dal is out behind him.
this is much nicer, being outside instead of sitting in the back of that cab. or instead of sitting in a denny's in the middle of the night, though he can't deny that there's something really great about that particular denny's at that particular time of night.
he turns his attention to dal with a bit of a frown when he notices the grip on his hand get just a little tighter ] Everything alright?
no subject
(( Not untrue. Even in Seoul, he constantly ended up in places where he had no idea how to get back from. Luckily, he had friends and chaperones there. Now? He's lived in New York for eight years and seen maybe a grand total of a dozen blocks of the city. He doesn't venture too far from home and definitely not out of his comfort zone like this. ))
This is all a little overwhelming.
no subject
jun squeezes dal's hand a bit tighter in return, and steps a little bit closer to him ]
I won't let go of your hand unless you want me to, alright?
[ maybe he can help to make the experience a little less overwhelming ]
no subject
(( There's so much hope in those wide eyes. Jun's so sweet and warm... Dal hasn't had a real friend in so many years. He's not really sure how to handle it now. ))
no subject
[ jun hasn't had a real friend in years either. he's still a little wary of thinking he has a real friend now, even. he's cautiously optimistic though. maybe dal really is what he's been looking for. someone who wants to be his friend. someone who actually wants to get to know him ]
