texting generally speaking.
You’ve got your TFLN, you’ve got your sexting, now here’s the meme for all those gen texts, phone calls, voicemails, pictures of your cats, and whatever else your little heart can come up with, because who doesn't like a little old fashioned friendly texting. (Or enemy texting, if that's more your bag.)
instructions: What it says on the tin! Leave a comment with your character, include preferences, a start, absolutely nothing or whatever you want. Run around and reply to others. Lather, rinse, repeat.

(( He's never been to a club before. Does he need to dress up? Or dress differently? Help! ))

[ he smiles and nods at dal, trying to encourage him to agree ]

(( Dal looks down. It's not meant as a self-conscious gesture, though it probably comes off like one. ))
I didn't bring a lot of money for that...

[ sure, dal may have said that jun doesn't have to do anything to earn his friendship, but that doesn't mean jun isn't going to still treat him to things. spending money on his friends is a little too ingrained in him at this point.
jun pulls one of his hands from dal's grasp and gently pats the seat in front of him to get to cab driver's attention ] Excuse me, you could actually let us out here? Thank you.
[ english with the cab driver, then he switches back to korean as he turns toward dal once more ] We're pretty close. I figured we could talk the rest of the way.

When the taxi stops, he doesn't let go of Jun's hand. Which means he crawls across the backseat to exit out of Jun's side of the car. Dal actually feels a little nervous since he's outside of his usual habitat. The sun's out, people are wandering up and down the sidewalk, the shops are open. It's all very different from what he's used to.
Don't mind him squeezing Jun's hand just a little tighter. ))

jun doesn't even try to pull his hand free of dal's when the taxi driver pulls over to let them out. instead, he digs his wallet out of his pocket one-handed and pulls some cash out for the driver. he slides out of the car and closes the door once dal is out behind him.
this is much nicer, being outside instead of sitting in the back of that cab. or instead of sitting in a denny's in the middle of the night, though he can't deny that there's something really great about that particular denny's at that particular time of night.
he turns his attention to dal with a bit of a frown when he notices the grip on his hand get just a little tighter ] Everything alright?

(( Not untrue. Even in Seoul, he constantly ended up in places where he had no idea how to get back from. Luckily, he had friends and chaperones there. Now? He's lived in New York for eight years and seen maybe a grand total of a dozen blocks of the city. He doesn't venture too far from home and definitely not out of his comfort zone like this. ))
This is all a little overwhelming.
no subject
jun squeezes dal's hand a bit tighter in return, and steps a little bit closer to him ]
I won't let go of your hand unless you want me to, alright?
[ maybe he can help to make the experience a little less overwhelming ]

(( There's so much hope in those wide eyes. Jun's so sweet and warm... Dal hasn't had a real friend in so many years. He's not really sure how to handle it now. ))
no subject
[ jun hasn't had a real friend in years either. he's still a little wary of thinking he has a real friend now, even. he's cautiously optimistic though. maybe dal really is what he's been looking for. someone who wants to be his friend. someone who actually wants to get to know him ]

He gives his head a little shake to dispel those thoughts. Here and now, he reminds himself. No worrying about what hasn't happened yet. No one can tell what the future will be, so don't worry. ))
Where are we going first?
no subject
the difference is, though, that jun is a bit of a liar ]
Are you hungry? Wanna go and grab something quick to eat first?
no subject
Does it have to be quick?
no subject
It doesn't have to be quick! Is there something specific you'd like and do you wanna walk around and look for a place?
no subject
I really like yellow curry. Do you think we can find someplace that makes it?
no subject
I'm sure there's someplace around here that makes it! If we can't find on ourselves, we can always ask around.
no subject
Is there anything specific you want to eat?
no subject
and jun staring down at a map on his phone is not exactly him spending time with dal ]
Mm no. I think I'm feeling pretty flexible. So let's go find some yellow curry then maybe we'll have a look around at some clothing shops. Or anything else that catches our eye. How's that sound?
no subject
Sounds fun!
no subject
[ jun gently squeezes dal's hand before he starts forward, leading the way to... well he's not exactly sure but hopefully some place where they can find some yellow curry for dal ]
So what made you want yellow curry anyway? I don't think I've ever actually had that before, myself.
no subject
Oh, uh, there's a Chinese restaurant close to where I live. I like getting takeaway there when I can. They have great yellow curry.
(( Not that Dal's had a great deal of other Chinese restaurants to compare it to. ))
no subject
[ dal has never offered up an address or anything of the sort, so jun figures it's best to avoid even the suggestion of going to the chinese restaurant together sometime. just getting dal to pick up some and bring it to him seems like the safer option ]
Maybe you can pick some up for us some day and we can find a nice, quiet park to sit in and have it.
no subject
He specifically omitted the fact that he lives above said Chinese restaurant.
Keeping a firm hold on Jun’s hand, Dal lets his gaze wander to the shops and restaurants they pass as they walk. There’s no hiding the wonder on his face, even through the shy smile he offers to Jun when his eyes return to him. ))
I’d like that.
no subject
Great! You pick the day and the park and I'll be there.
no subject
(( Oh, he knew of Central Park, but that was about it. There weren’t any in his neighborhood and he never ventured outside of it. He was about to suggest Jun pick the park instead, when the delicious scent of Chinese food wafted out a door they passed. Dal stopped immediately, tugging Jun’s hand in the process. ))
Let’s look at the menu here.
(( He’ll need Jun’s help with that. ))
