A First Meeting Meme

Meeting new people is fun! That first meeting though, it always sort of sets the tone. So is it a good meeting, or a bad one? Will you make a new friend, or do you part just as much strangers as you started as? Or as enemies even.


1.) On the Bus
The bus is packed full of people and oof- Getting hit by a bag like that's gotta hurt! Somehow you find yourself all squished up with someone and oops- sorry, didn't mean to step on your foot like that! Or maybe you're one of the ones lucky enough to just be sharing a seat with someone... Either way, you're gonna be on this bus for a while, so why not strike up a conversation?

2.) Lonely Beach
Sure is nice on the beach, but it's not quite the season for lots of people... Or maybe it's just really, really late... Either way, you find yourself alone, but... Seems like someone else decided it was time for a walk along the beach as well. It's a good time to meet someone new, isn't it? It can get rather lonely to just chill by yourself.

3.) Café Meet
So the place is full and you've got a table all for yourself... Maybe you should invite that poor sucker who came in late in the lunch rush to join you at your table. Chances are, they'll appreciate it! And you'll get a partner in conversation... Hopefully?

4.) Hey, so You Like...
This totally awesome video game! Or movie! Or... Well, whatever kind of store you're in, someone obviously has impeccable taste and you can't help but point it out.

5.) This is My Spot
You totally saw that picnic spot first! Or that bench! Or... Whatever it is you kids get territorial over these days. Regardless, this stranger totally stole your spot. Do you argue with them over it, or ask to join them?

6.) The Accident
So you just bumped into someone... Or maybe they bumped into you! Do you apologize? Do they apologize? Were any belongings dropped and oh my goodness, did all your loose change just roll off all over the street. Would be nice if the stranger gave you a helping hand, no?

7.) The Bar
Always a good place to meet someone. Slide right up to them at the bar to chat them up! Or maybe wait for them to chat you up if you're shy.

8.) Youth Club
For those of you who're minors. It's just a place where people gather to hang out, but... There's games, people, music, even non-alcoholic drinks and food. It's a good opportunity to meet someone your age and make some new friends.

9.) Blind Date
Let's face it, you were probably set up. Do you make the most of it, or does it just turn super awkward?

10.) First Impressions
Wildcard option. Come up with a scenario of your own or choose from the above.

It wasn't like he owned the place, but damn if Gabriel wasn't a creature of certain habits - one of which was the end stool at a little ice cream shop in Shreveport every other Tuesday. The stool didn't have his name on it exactly, but everyone knew that around 2pm without fail a short guy with a sunny smile would stroll in and order a sundae with more scoops than physics should allow (he was cheating of course, but everyone else didn't need to know that).

This Tuesday though? Oh this Tuesday the angel showed up for his usual date with Margo the cashier, but low and behold there was a stranger parked on his stool. It earned her a frown as he slid into the seat next door.

"Hey Goldie Locks, you ever hear the story of the three bears?" He asked her after he'd told the girl behind the counter to give him his special and 'make it a double'.

Normally, Tohko didn't wander into cafe's, but the few books she had bought from the bookstore were so interesting that she just had to sit down and read them, and since the nearest place to sit down was a cafe, she entered, sat down in an empty table and started reading, trying to avoid the urge to eat it in public.

However, she didn't know when the lunch rush for the cafe was, and got caught up in it just as she finished one of her books. Thankfully, her table was still empty, but the place was packed. Amidst the chaos, she noticed a girl who was looking around for a table and trying to avoid getting shoved.

"Hey, over here! There's a seat here!"

[He'd always enjoyed the smell of the sea. It wasn't often that he got to come down to the shore on his own, but Lady Palutena had allowed him this break while she went off on errands unknown.

Yeah, best not to question those.

He's quite content to just walk along the shore, just out of reach of the waves until he spots someone else coming from the opposite direction. It's a bit difficult to tell who it is in the dark, but what's the harm in waving anways?]

The problem with multi-tasking is that attention wasn't focused on one thing, it was, as the very word itself hinted at, shared by many tasks all at once. This is all too clear when AJ, juggling her bag, a coffee and an armful of books didn't notice that she was on a collision course with an innocent lamppost.

She slams into it and cries out, everything in her arms falling to the ground in one big, messy heap. She sighs, running a hand through her hair, shifting positions to her knees so she can try to get everything in order and be on her way, completely ignoring the fact that people were walking by, and not a one of them offered assistance in any way.

It's not surprising, really.
