SCENARIOS:
① Took longer than I thought → Maybe you went on a voyage and presumed dead. Maybe you were stranded on an island, kidnapped by pirates, or lost in the Bermuda Triangle. Whatever the case, you're back now, to everyone's great surprise.
② Amnesia → You sustained a traumatic head injury that left you unable to recall your identity. It's all come back to you and now you're faced with the realization that the people who knew you before have moved on with their lives.
③ Sleeping Beauty → Due to magic, science, or some happy marriage of both, you were put into a deep sleep to be awakened at some point in the future. Maybe your friends and family weren't aware of the plan. Wakey, wakey.
④ Only mostly dead → Think Frodo and Shelob. You're thought dead and your body's left behind. Only, you weren't as dead as everyone thought. Oops.
⑤ Faked it → Maybe you've been put in witness protection or you're a secret agent no one can know exists. For whatever reason, you had to fake your own death. Now it's safe to go back to your life. How are you going to explain that?
⑥ Back from the dead → You really were dead. But you're not any more. Whether it was divine intervention, Dr. Frankenstein, or aliens, you're alive and kicking once again.
⑦ Choose your own adventure → Mix and match or make up your own!

[Her chest rises and falls in rhythm as her breathing begins to even out. Then there's a faint, whispered moan as her head turns very slightly to one side.

It's the first she's really moved since she'd fallen asleep.]

[Chris watches anxiously, lightly resting a hand on her, hoping that she was coming around.]

[strengthinkindness]

[Her eyes seemed to flutter beneath her eyelids, and there's another soft sigh. But after another shiver...

Nothing.]

[beingthecreature]

[For just a moment he slumps in despair, but then he moves forward, adjusting a wrap keeping her head and neck warm, then tugging the blanket up a bit more around her shoulders.]

[strengthinkindness]

[This causes her to stir, just barely, as another soft sigh passes her lips.]

Ch...'is...

[beingthecreature]

[His head rises up a little and he looks at her, wondering if he heard what he thought he had.]

Fluttershy?

[strengthinkindness]

[Another shiver, leading to another turn of her head as her breathing begins to accelerate. Her brow tightens, as though her mind is now plagued with a nightmare.]

Chris...

[beingthecreature]

[He carefully brushes his fingers across her forehead, all but sitting with her as close as he was.]

It's alright, Fluttershy. You're someplace safe. [He shivered a little, perhaps in remembrance of how just a few hours ago he'd been in this state himself.] And warm.

[strengthinkindness]

[Her movements still, but the tension in her body does not go away. With each breath, there seems to be a struggle for words.]

Ch-Chris...

Wh-where...?

D...d-don't...leave me...

[beingthecreature]

I'm right here, Fluttershy. [He finds her arm under the blankets, giving her a gentle squeeze.] I'm not going anywhere.

[strengthinkindness]

P-please...don't...

D-don't go...

[She shivers again, and groans softly as her breath hitches.]

[beingthecreature]

[He wrapped her hand in both of his, leaning forward a little.]

I won't. C'mon Fluttershy, I'm right here. Wake up.

[strengthinkindness]

[There's another sharp breath before her breathing evens out again. Then the strain in her face fades, as she once again seems to start settling back into a deeper, although uneasy sleep.]

[beingthecreature]

[He sighs softly, keeping hold of her hand with one, as he reaches up to softly brush her forehead again.

Standing up, he gives her hand a final squeeze and releases it, bending over and kissing her forehead before moving away to another part of the room, to fetch another blanket.]

[strengthinkindness]

[The brief feel of warmth - warmer than anything else around her - causes her to stir once again, and she breathes another soft groan.

Her eyes cinch tight for a moment...then they slowly flutter open.]

[beingthecreature]

[Chris.. completely fails to notice, because he's attempting to tug out a blanket in the middle of a stack, one-handed, as the other's busy trying to keep the rest from falling.]

Come on, you stupid-

[strengthinkindness]

[The familiar voice draws her attention. But even as she tries - and isn't quite able - to tilt her head up, he's just outside of her line of vision.]

Ch...Ch-Chris...?

[beingthecreature]

[He stops again and turns back, staring at her.]

Fl-? Fluttershy!- Whoa!

[The blankets teeter over, immediately knocking him down to the floor with a whump.]

[strengthinkindness]

[The thump and sudden pile of blankets scattering across the floor startles her, her brain slowly drawing on awareness.

It's a bit of a struggle, but she manages to push herself up a little so that she's leaning on her elbow, ignoring her growing headache as she looks down at the ground.]

Ch-Chris...?

[beingthecreature]

[He grunted, untangling himself from the mess.]

Yeah- Wh--! [Another thud, as he trips over himself and falls. Laying there just a moment he stands up, with the blanket needed in hand, and immediately moves over to her.]

How are you?

[strengthinkindness]

[Seeing that he was okay, she manages a small smile.]

I-I'm okay...Just...a li'l tired...

[A shiver.]

...'n cold...

[beingthecreature]

[He smiled softly, then whipped the blanket up in the air, letting it settle down on top of her.]

You're outta that storm though, which is important. I'm glad you're back around...

[His smile turns just a touch bittersweet and he seems about to say more, but instead chooses to stay silent and tuck in the blankets a little.]

[strengthinkindness]

[She smiles, settling back down as he tucks the blanket around her. But she notices the expression on his face with a touch of puzzlement.]

What...what's wrong?

[beingthecreature]

[He glanced up, blinking.] What? Nothing's wrong.

[She gently catches his hand in hers, looking up at him with a small, concerned frown.]
