THE DREAM PHONE MEME
Like, wow! It's your lucky day. Why? You've been chosen for a rad new matchmaking service called Date Line, duh! They provide everything for you, from the hot pink phone (totally cutting edge tech, natch) you'll use to call up your dream date, all the way to the hunks waiting for you to dial. Now it's up to you to call and chat.
Don't wait too much longer. Your love connection's waiting and the mall's going to close soon! Everybody knows the food court's the perfect place to meet up.
HOW TO PLAY
- Forget online dating. We're going old school. It's all hotlines, babe!
- At least the story goes a little bit like this: your character's been burdened with a peak comedy phone, nothing else to do, and nowhere to go. May as well talk to the people on the other end of the line. Who knows who'll you ring? And the best part is that long distance's prepaid!
- Post your prefs. Chat it up when other people dial your phone number. Fall in love. If not, you can ask them about the newest episode of your favorite TV show or directions. Perhaps how to get out of this hellhole that looks like pastels vomited on the neon bowling alley carpet. Is that "Take On Me" playing on loop across the abandoned shopping center? We sure hope it isn't the portal to another dimension that opened in the movie theatre...if it is, then the demons broke though.
- That said, the real challenge here comes in when you realize that, if you play to the theme, the whole thread should is written in dialogue over the phone. You KNOW you can't break the rules. This is a serious meme!
