I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

i. Scenarios ① kidnapped for ransom - everyone wants to make a quick buck. and what quicker way is there than ransoming someones life. Not that everything always goes to plan. Let's just hope that everyone comes out alive and happy. ② kidnapped for revenge - Someone was on the wrong side. Maybe it's the significant other of an Ex. Maybe it's the Ex themselves. Or perhaps it's even more complicated than that. Either way, there's nothing sweeter. ③ cracknapping - Okay, so you didn't mean to drink that much, but now you have woken up in a room with a bunch of mascots from the game and what is going on? ④ kidnapped for help - We need you help. Whether you're willingly up to offer it or not. ⑤ kidnapped for their own good - Want to get you out of a bad situation. It's for your own good. Trust us. You're safe now, you won't be hurt any more. ⑥accidental kidnapping - okay. so this wasn't... exactly what was planned. But looks like we've got an extra person now. W H O O P S ??? ⑦ wildcard - Anyway you want it. ii. relationship ① kidnapper and kidnapee - The prize and the thief, what better combination? ② kidnapee and rescuer - Don't worry, they're here to save you. ③kidnapees! - Well. Stuck together. This is a good bonding moment. ④ kidnappers anonymous - All of you need to get together and feel bad about yourselves. ⑤ wild card - That's the way you need it

Same for my sister and me. My scar's on the back of my thigh though. Kind of embarrassing to show that off.

You're immune too? I thought I was the only one.

My sis and I are pretty much immune to everything magic. The bite is basically magic so...

[He shrugs. It's just one of those things for him.]

I don't know why it didn't work for me. All I remember is being tackled on the lacrosse field, burning pain, then waking up in the hospital.

You don't have a history of white witches in your family do you?

[chromatist]

Not that I know of. But my parents don't really speak to the rest of their family, so...anything's possible, I guess.

Might want to start a geneology project. And eat something.

[chromatist]

[She pulls a plate of food closer to her and stars to pick at it.] Do you think that's the reason? That I'm a...witch? I thought you hunted witches.

We hunt bad witches, the ones who use black magic. It's possible, Red, but I'm not an expert. I just know my family and our history.

[chromatist]

Oh. Well. [She nibbles a little at the food in front of her, but despite her earlier proffered hunger, she's not really.] What is your history?

[burnthemall]

My history? Or my family? Because the family started in Germany. My ancestors were kidnapped by a witch and they killed her. They started hunting witches after that and were pretty fucking famous for it. They had some kids, passes on the family tradition and the immunity and it goes on from there until now, with me and my sister.

[chromatist]

So were they witches too?

The women seem to carry the gift. None of the men seem to have it, but the family never really trained in it. We learn the protection spell and that's it.

...Will you teach it to me?

[burnthemall]

No. No, family secret Red. We don't share it with anyone not blood.

[chromatist]

Well then, I guess you better stick around to keep saving me, because if I can't protect myself, someone's going to have to pick up the slack.

[burnthemall]

We're going to be gone soon. We never stay long. We're just waiting to find our next job.

[chromatist]

[She fiddles with her water.] Where will you be going?

[burnthemall]

We haven't decided yet. Seems like a certain wolf pack keeps needing our help.

[chromatist]

They're needy little things, wolves.

[burnthemall]

You should train with my sister while she's here though. It'll be good for you.

[chromatist]

We'll see if my parents let me out of their sight again. This is the second time I've disappeared without word.

You're a teenager, it happens.

I escaped the hospital after the wolf attack and spent two days wandering naked through the woods with no recollection of what happened.
