THE (new years) FIGHT MEME

What else needs to be said? Release your inner warrior and partake in some epic (or hilariously bad) battles! Do you use a sword? Are you a martial arts master? Are you a wizard? Can you even fight?

It doesn't matter if you're just having a friendly spar or deciding the fate of the universe. You're suddenly filled with the urge to fight the next person you meet. Cut loose and show off your skills!

Everything you need to know about Deadlock.

Deadlock is a robotic chaos wizard who just loves ultraviolent vigilantism, which makes him able to pick a fight with just about anyone on the moral spectrum. I'm open to PvP or playing against NPC forces, but I'd really love to do some vehicular combat or a wizard's duel (especially if they're a wizard dedicated to order).

[Not interested in 11 or 12, for 9 the characters can think they're fighting to the death but no actual death. m/m for 10.]

[New York's got more than its fair share of hidden, underground, not entirely legal clubs, and part of being a Shadowhunter is knowing all of them. Knowing, and occasionally making use of them.

This place is particularly interesting, though. The basement under an out of the way night club, where a fighting cage is set up and people can place bets on the combatants. Enough rumours and gossip pass through the place that it's a good connection for Alec to maintain, but it's also just a good source of cash.

He's here for the latter reason tonight, taking fights for money, and as his first fight of the evening comes along, he takes off his shoes, strips off his shirt, and enters the cage, rolling out his shoulders.]

[ voicetesting! cheol-gang is the antag of his canon and a major in north korea's state security dept. he's shown to be a skilled fighter even with cuffs on and is a violent person, so this meme suits him pretty well. no 4/10/12, otherwise everything works! if it's a barfight, it'd have to be response to an attack - cheol-gang doesn't drink enough to initiate.

if anyone's out there playing ri jeong-hyeok, my dream scenario for this meme is them having a chance to really go at it without subordinates intervening - i feel like we were robbed of the like, one good hand-on-hand match between them. in more general terms, i'm down with most of these but sparring could be particularly fun.

[ i'm down for it! mugen's canon is kinda anachronistic so pirate town fight club sounds up his alley. did you wanna start us off? ]

[Good officers of the law don't casually visit the worst parts of town, usually. Arata's never claimed to be a good detective, though, and besides, when that town is a pirate port, the boundary between criminal and citizen is a whole lot more blurred than in most places.

Sitting in the sublevel under a teahouse-and-brothel, the fight club boasts a cage for fighting in, tables to place bets at, and a significant prize for anyone who wins their fight. The owner's a useful contact for Arata, and keeping that contact happy means sometimes agreeing to a few fights.

Which is how he got here tonight, barefoot and stripped to the waist as part of the club's no-shoes-no-shirt policy, shoved into the cage for one of the night's fights. He's not all that much to look at: Short, athletic but lean, with a boyish face that looks like it's probably never taken that many punches.]

[ Here existed some underground that was less than desirable to the general public. Of course, everyone knew that even the underground has an underground, dealing in gold chips and angry beasts. All who come have a taste for gambling. Everyone's seems to be pulling the wool over the eyes of everyone else.

Mugen knows war, this competition of strength has the sword-slinger in its thrall. Violence is a viable route to shoring up his debts, filling his belly, taking home a few of those nice exotic ladies upstairs.

The clanging of metal is defeaning - the crowd roars. Their silhouettes outlined against the chain link, Mugen settles down at last to stand in front of the slip of a man, dark eyes meeting narrow ones. He sniffs boredly, a lazy finger digging in his ear. ]

You in the right place. Kiddie games are upstairs. I think I got some tokens somewhere.

[Arata glances behind him, where one of the club's impromptu bouncers - really just a pirate earning some extra money - is shutting the door behind him, chaining it shut, and securing it with padlocks first, and then with bamboo rods to jam it from opening.

He turns back towards Mugen, giving a smile and a helpless shrug.]

They seem to think I'm in the right place. You sure you don't want to yield now? Could be embarrassing if you lose.

[The bouncers back off, letting the crowd press in so tight to the cage they're almost trying to reach through the mesh, and a bell rings, a signal that they can start.]

[ There's a rumbling in these hills and it means there's going to be a demonic sort of hoard coming towards them at some point.

Does Inosuke recognize this yet? Yes? But also fuck no. He's already been simultaneously pissed off and excited by Mugen, shifting into a battle stance. He obviously has two blades on him, but he's been taught that he's not allowed to unsheathe them on humans unless their blade comes out first.

That being said, Inosuke is going to charge towards Mugen like he's going to tackle the man. At the last moment, the boar-headed teen is going to leap and try to headbutt the other at a corkscrew trajectory. ]

[ His natural ability lets him make his skin into stone, based on his endurance. He's a 'hero' normally.

But I will also play the 'Blood Riot' version where he's a villain and it's no-holds-barred with his ability. ]
