There's nothing quite like your first crush developed during those formative teenage year...except, of course, when you start a tentative, testing relationship based on those feelings. Or, equally as exhilarating, dancing around the subject and ignoring all that adolescent angst and tension!

You're in for some fun, so whether you're in the right age demographic, you never really got to fit and now you've found yourself fitting the bill, or you've been thrown back into the past, make a teenage dream come true!

[The past few weeks have been A Lot for Carlos. Getting away from his mother, going to Auradon, finding out that dogs are actually pretty nice, it's all been almost overwhelming.

There are two things that have kept him grounded, however, and kept him out and not hidden under a blanket in his bedroom. First, classes. He's always been a nerd, always loved to learn and to read, and now he has access to a huge library, where he can read anything he wants. Sure, some of the classes are a bit... something, but he's learning and he's happy.

The second thing that's been good is Evie. He's not entirely sure that he would have been able to do this if she hadn't been there as well. Sure, he likes Jay, and now that he's off the Isle, he's becoming less of a jerk, and Mal is... Mal. They're his family, and he's glad to have them. Evie, though... there's something there that he can't put his finger on. Even if he doesn't figure it out, he's just glad she's there.

He's in the library at the moment, doing some homework. Completely not a surprise.]

[While the adjustment to Auradon has been difficult, Evie absolutely adores the life that's shaping up for her off of the Isle. THE Prince, Ben, is super sweet to them all, even if his girlfriend needs a serious attitude adjustment. The second most-eligible prince is dropping hints that he has a thing for her, even if the way he's showing his affection is a little strange. The room she shares with Mal is fit for a princess. The air is clean, the food is fresh, the fabric - the fabric! - is new and intact. And, she has access to a sewing machine, courtesy of the home economics teacher and the policy that allows students to borrow machines for projects. She's lost count of the number of outfits she's made everyone in her crew, especially since she's tucked a few away as presents for the holidays.

The stress mostly comes from Goodness class - she gets why they're taking it, but it's so boring she can't bring herself to pay attention half the time, Mr. Deeley's determination to catch her out at something since she showed him up in Chemistry when he'd meant to embarrass her, and Mal going on about the need to come up with plans to get the wand. Evie's starting to wonder if they can't all just... not get the wand. They're out, they're free from their parents' influence, and this place is just so amazing! She knows what her mom and the others will do to it. They've only been plotting for pretty much the entire time they've been trapped.

Some of the stress also comes from the double load of homework she's been doing. Chad Charming is a busy prince, so of course he doesn't have time for something as trivial to him as homework. But if she takes care of it, it's one less thing on his schedule, and one more opportunity for him to have some free time for her. His smiling face is what keeps her going on the double homework. That light, dreamy look he gives her, and the way he leans close to whisper a thank you in her ear when she hands him his papers under the bleachers....

Once they figure out the love spell for Mal to give Ben, she'll make her move. Until then, she's biding her time, putting in the work to show she really would be the perfect girlfriend. The only trouble is that she can't work in her dorm room any more. After both Mal and Lonnie made a fuss about her doing a simple favor, she decided she didn't need people fussing at her. So she's come to the library for some peace and quiet. She'll feel more productive in the library, anyway. All those books just begging to be read.

She grins when she catches sight of Carlos at an otherwise empty table, working on his own homework. Carlos will understand. He's so good at school, and he loves learning things even more than she does. And he's always had her back, looked out for her on the Isle when she was trapped in her tower for all those years. She heads toward his table and puts her backpack down carefully - just enough noise so she doesn't startle him, but not so silent that he won't notice her. When he looks up, she grabs the back of the chair opposite him.]

This seat taken?

[Carlos has noticed Evie spending time with Chad, and he's not sure what to think about it. It's obvious that she's always been told that she needs to find a prince, but is this prince really the one? In Carlos' not so humble opinion, Chad's a bit of a wet blanket, and he's pretty sure that he's not really all that nice.

However, if that's who Evie wants, Carlos will have to live with it. It's not like he has any claim on her, right? Something in his emotions just feels wrong, but he doesn't really know what to do with it.

When she comes up to the table, he grins right back at her and nods.]
