You don't have to do anything with it. Or you can do whatever you want. Unless you're asking how to use it, then that's harder to explain.

[He doesn't have any ideas on a magical solution yet, so there's no pressure there. Yet.]

_{[He half-snaps half-pleads the statement, his knuckles turning white in the grip he now has on his sheets. He's starting to panic now.]}

Relax.

[He reaches out, cupping Balfour's face in his hands, and looks him right in the eye.] Just take a deep breath. Everything's alright.

This is a lot harder when you're thirteen you know. [His voice is softer now, aiming to be soothing, like he's talking to a frightened doe or something.] It's subconsciously held under control until you release it, and then it's controlled by what you want to happen, but only if you really focus on it. Makes it harder for accidents to happen once you get the hang of it. Spells are harder though, you have to know what you're doing, so don't worry too much about suddenly creating a tiger or something. [Or a dragon. No dragons please, dear god his room isn't big enough for that.]

_{[Balfour quiets down after a few minutes, snuggling close to Reid, closing his eyes again. He was afraid of what could happen, especially if he messed up with the magic.]}

How...? How do I use this?

[He holds Balfour close, rubbing his back soothingly.]

It's like I said, you have to really focus on what you want to happen. But you can't exactly on the magic, if that makes sense? It's more of just seeing yourself doing it. [This was hard to explain, and he has no idea if he's doing it right. He's never really had to tell anyone before. Except maybe once or twice, when he was fourteen, and Tyler'd finally had his thirteenth birthday. But that was years ago.]

Like if you want to levitate something, you just focus on that, not the how. I dunno how to use magic to he-...oh. I've got an idea. [Honestly he doesn't know why he didn't think of this sooner, either. Oh right, because the surprise of suddenly being in someone else's body.]

_{[Welp. He's found that tendon again, so he's back to nibbling, now. Nibble nibble. At least he was no longer panicking?

[Augh, that's very distracting still! But that's alright, because Reid has a plan in mind, and he won't be so easily deterred from it. Even if that does feel nice.]

The Book of Damnation. It's got a whole lot of shit about our family histories, but maybe it has some information that could help us. [Not that he remembers off the top of his head, he's never been too keen to just sit around and read the Book. Not like Caleb did.]

_{[Balfour suddenly smiles wickedly. If Reid still liked the neck-nibbling, then, maybe...

He knew that he, himself, had a thing for being bitten on the shoulder. So, what does Balfour do? He bites Reid on the shoulder, and not gently at all. He's testing if the body's reactions are tied to the mind in the body, or if it's a reaction all on its own.

Wait, what about information that could help? He's not sure he caught that.]}

[Balfour! Reid is supposed to be the irresponsible one who gets distracted when people are trying to be serious about things. Not the other way around.

As it is, that does, in fact, completely distract him from what he's talking about for a moment. He makes a soft sound at the bite, partially surprise, mostly because oh, that feels nice.]

_{[The reaction was much milder than Balfour had expected. Usually, when bitten, he reacted much stronger than that because oh, the pleasure. Balfour absolutely loved getting bit on the shoulders and could probably get pretty damn close from just a few well-timed, well-placed bites.

Heaven help him if he ever meets a vampire.

He makes a note of that, though, nodding to himself.]}

_{[Oops, never mind, he's decided to nip at Reid's bicep now.]}

[Well he was trying to focus on solutions to their problem, so. That could be part of the reason.]

I was saying that the Book of Dam-Balfour! Am I going to have to put a muzzle on you or something? [Not that he would normally mind all of this-no, normally he would love it, and okay, so he was still enjoying it now, but.]

_{[Balfour just looked up at Reid, innocent as a new born puppy, all wiggly butt and sniffy nose and eyes that haven't quite opened yet, but still very curious about the world around it. That was what he looked like here, head tilted slightly as he gazed up at Reid.]}

But it's interesting. I'm finding out which reactions are tied to the body and which are tied to the mind.

_{[Like, normally, he didn't care one way or the other about his ears being played with. He leaned up, now, and began to nibble-tug Reid's earlobes. Would he react as always, or would the sensation be dulled?]}

[You're no where near as innocent as that, Balfour, especially not with Reid's face right now. Unfortunately, you are as cute as that. Was he going to have to pin Balfour down and show him who's boss?]

No. He puts his hands on Balfour's shoulders, pushing him away, to the side, and rolls over on top of him.] I'm trying to figure things out, and you're very distracting. _{[Well pinning wouldn't help the problem, not really, because Balfour did quite like being pinned down if the intentions were good.

_{[Yes, he had just been freaking out, but god, Reid, you're killing him! He's more interested in figuring out how his new body reacts and exploring/teaching the body Reid was now wearing.]}

_{[Balfour didn't want to admit that this kind of stuff actually was keeping him from freaking out. Still, he stopped, just snuggling in close, his hand going up and down Reid's chest instead of teasing him.]}

_{[Even when he wants so much to just. Distract them both.]}

Right. [He kisses Balfour on the cheek before continuing.] The Book of Damnation. It's got the whole history of our families, and probably a lot of other information too. I don't remember, really, I haven't read it since I was a kid. It might have something that could help, I've just gotta get my hands on it.

[Which meant getting dressed. And getting out of bed. And risking being around people.]

_{[Balfour's first instinct, for whatever reason, is to huff in protest. He doesn't really want to get up out of bed and go look for some book. He likes books well enough, but he has other things on his mind.

But then he realizes that this is a book he wouldn't get to see otherwise that would teach him how to use this new Talent of his. And maybe, just maybe, he could put the magic to use on Reid.

He sits up]}

[Yeah, neither does Reid-he doesn't want to get out of bed or get dressed or anything, but he'd rather know now if the book could do anything to help them, and then 'experiment', as Balfour put it, afterwards. So he knows if he has to keep panicking or not. Besides, later there were a lot of interesting ways to use the Power that Reid had yet to tell Balfour about.]

I'll actually have to drive us there.

[Oh dear. Your life will be in Reid's hands, Balfour. Well, technically your hands, but.

Reid sits up and stretches before scooting to the edge of the bed and reaching for clothes.]

And you will have to tell Gorman not to shoot us, since you've got my face and all.

_{[Oh, and what are those interesting ways, Reid? Balfour doesn't look too nervous about Reid having to drive, but he's managed to get himself distracted again, this time looking at his own/Reid's body, hands running down the bare flesh of his chest, tracing along the tattoos that he can see, and then down, down, and oh, bummer. Underwear. He'd check that out later, then.

He dresses quickly after that little disappointment, watching Reid out of the corner of his eye.]}

Don't you ever take Tyler up there? I don't see why you'd need to tell him not to shoot him.

[Interesting sexual ways, that's what. When you have magic you don't even need to be in the same room to feel someone up. Or do other things to them. Leaves your hands free for more.

Yes, please refrain from feeling up Reid's body too much, Balfour. Not that it isn't nice to watch, and not like it doesn't distract Reid a little from his task of getting dressed. It's weird to watch, but...kind of hot too. Oh the things they could do like this.]

[Because he hadn't realized that and now he just feels kind of dumb. He doesn't like that feeling. It's not Balfour's fault though.]

Up close he won't believe you're Tyler though. He's old not blind. Gorman trained us. Not our fathers, him. [Well, and their fathers too, but not as much as Gorman.] He knows all of us pretty well.

But yeah, I guess I could tell him. You sound enough like Tyler, at least.
