Ah, rain—the precipitation that the whole world has a love/hate affair with. It waters the garden for free and ruins baseball games. It cools you off in the summer and it causes more ice and sleet to appear in the winter. Sometimes it is lovely and falls at a decent pace for a few hours, other times, it blasts the whole eastern seaboard away.

Poems and songs have been written about it, people have danced in it, others have cursed its entire existence, and still more refuse to go out and drive in it.

Now it’s time to roll some dice and see what the weather will have in store for you today.

1. DRIZZLE ☂ It’s not too heavy or too light of a downpour, just enough to wash away stuff in the air, water the ground, and clean up the streets.

2. MONSOON ☂ It’s horrible and awful! Rain is coming down in buckets, no one can get anywhere, the wind is whipping everything about, and now the cable is out.

3. SHOWER ☂ Reminds you of early spring, doesn’t it? A nice shower to make everything all green and smell fresh again. Lovely.

4. FLOOD ☂ While rain is good, it can sometimes be bad. Grab a boat!

5. CATS & DOGS ☂ You’re lucky with this one. It’s not the worst storm in the world, but it’s still pretty heavy. Be careful when driving!

6. SUDDEN STORM ☂ It might have been predicted, but sometimes storms just sweep in and do their thing with little to no warning. Hope you’re not outside.

7. THUNDER & LIGHTNING ☂ Loud, surprising, scary, ominous, comforting, fantastic to watch or listen to… some like thunder and lightning, others not so much. Of course, if this happens before a big confrontation, the universe is telling you something.

8. CAN’T GET WORSE ☂ You did not say that. You did not just say that. How many times does this need to be seen in movies and books before anyone learns?

9. STUCK ☂ No, no, no, no. This cannot be happening. What happened to the ten percent chance of rain? You forgot your umbrella and now you’re stuck in it!

10. RUINED PLANS ☂ You had all these wonderful plans to go outside, have some fun in the sunshine, do some errands, maybe a date… and the weather goes against them.

11. DANCING ☂ Sometimes rain is a cause for celebration, or you just feel like doing something spontaneous. Grab someone to join you and get wet!

12. RAIN BATTLE ☂ The most intense, important battles happen in the rain. Verbal spars, punching someone in the guts; it’s all dramatic and climatic. And no one slips.

13. DATE ☂ Aww, don’t let the weather ruin your date! It can be really romantic, being out in the rain, and it’s always fun to go with the flow.

14. A DAY INSIDE ☂ Sometimes, it’s just better to stay inside and enjoy something simple and easy like board games or catching up on TV shows, or maybe the bills.

[ Oh no! Eijun is considered quite empathic, so he can sort of sense that he might be making Sunny uncomfortable with his overly friendly demeanor. He tries to dial it down by a level or two. ]

Y'know, I'm actually headed to buy snacks because my roommate found out I had eaten his snacks while he wasn't looking. But I actually thought those snacks were for all of us to share!

I definitely wouldn't have minded if he had eaten my snacks, but I suppose we just think too differently.

[ ... This is him trying to dial it back. ]

[ Apparently his 'dialing it back' was somehow working, because Sunny lets out the quietest of laughter. It... has been some time since he's hung out with someone that reminded him so much of his childhood friend.]

They... must have been really good snacks.

Oh yeah, they were really good. You know those corn chips that are salty and sweet and absolutely delicious? Those are so freaking addictive! I couldn't stop once I started...

[ And during the whole journey to the market, Eijun chatters on and on about his favorite snacks, treats, and sweets—basically whatever pops into his head. Good thing the trip isn't a long one or Sunny might have had his ear talked off.

Once they get to the store, Eijun opens the door for Sunny to step in first. He then fixes his umbrella, shaking off the water and closing it before leaving it in the umbrella stand by the entrance. ]

Finally, a safe haven from the rain!

[ Sunny wasn't really the most talkative himself, and only really spoke up when Eijun asked him something in relation to what he was bringing up, but he appreciated it. Eijun was.. very nice and cheerful. ]

Since... this was your last stop before home... that would make this third base, right?

[ Is that... like a little joke? Did Sunny just make a witty remark with him?! Eijun can't help but laugh heartily, pleasantly surprised by the baseball reference. ]

Yeah, that does make this third base!! I never thought of it that way. That's a good one, Sunny.

[ Strolling over to the snack section, Eijun picks out whatever snacks he owes his senpai: Ramune candy, Umaibo, chocolate wafers, and chips... Yeah, he had eaten a lot. ]

Hey, Sunny, do you want anything?

[ He cracked a small smile when he heard Eijun start laughing. He may not be the most athletic, but he still knows a tiny bit about sportsballs! And his sister used to play softball so he retained a little from that.

His head perked up when he heard his name, distracted from the snacks around them.]

H-huh? Oh um… I wouldn’t want to trouble you.

Don't worry about it!

[ He gives a friendly pat to Sunny's shoulder, not minding that his shirt is all damp from the rain. His own is a little wet too anyway. ]

We can share the snack when we get back to the dorm. So go ahead and pick one!

Won't... your roommate be bothered... if you invite someone over?

Nah, he's probably still hanging out at Miyuki's room. Go ahead, Sunny!!

[ He beckons, eyes beaming brightly. You can't deny those eyes, can you? ]

[ It was honestly impossible to say no when those bright sunshine-y eyes were sparkling his way. He'd only known Eijun for a short moment and already he felt like it'd be a shame to disappoint him.

What sort of super power is this?! ]

A-ah... Maybe some fruit snacks then.

Ah, so healthy! That's very admirable. I'm going to go for some shrimp chips myself. Not as healthy, but oh so good.

[ Eijun picks up a few of the fruit snacks he can find, adding them into his little basket, along with his preferred choice of chips. Once he thinks he's gotten everything, he strides over to the self-checkout counter. ]

I hope I'm not forgetting anything. Kuramochi-senpai is going to kill me if I forget even one item. I probably should've made a list...

[ He muses out loud while scanning everything from his basket, before stowing them away into a reusable bag. ]

Maybe… if you get one more thing he might like… if you did forget anything you can say ‘Hey but I got you this and it’s better’ or… something?

[ He wasn’t sure what his roommate was like, but his temper sounded like someone he knew when dealing with another friend. He’s sure that tactic would work on her… maybe… actually he wasn’t sure but hey it’s an attempt? ]

[ Eijun thinks about Sunny's suggestion... and then checks his own wallet, before sighing. ]

No, that's a good idea! I'll just give him my shrimp chips in case I did miss something. But if not, these are mine!!

[ He noticed the way he was staring at his wallet, and he was pretty sure Eijun would probably just say no but…]

Can… I help with something? Since… you invited me

Huh? No, it's fine! I got this.

[ He has enough to pay for what they have now, just not anything extra. Which is fine... If Kuramochi-senpai ends up getting all the snacks they bought (save for the fruits), Eijun can just... drink some water. Once all of the snacks are packed and paid for, he heads back to the entrance to pick up the umbrella. ]

Ready to go, Sunny?

[ At the very least Sunny will share his treats with Eijun. He doesn't have the biggest appetite usually anyway. (which was probably why he looked so scrawny.) O-Oh right they were on their way out...! He stumbled a little to catch up with Eijun. ]

I can hold something.... for you?

[ Looking between the umbrella and the bag of snacks... He thinks that maybe the bag of snacks would be an easier thing to carry than having to lift something above their heads. ]

Alright, I'll leave you in charge of holding our grub!

[ And with that said, Eijun leads the way out, umbrella in hand. He opens it up and waits for Sunny to join him before making their way back to Seidou's baseball team's dormitory. ]

[ Taking the bag of snacks in his hands he moves in somewhat close to be underneath the umbrella. He gives Eijun this soft and warm look as he follows along. He's glad... that he was able to bump into such a nice guy.]

[ Even after spending some time in the store, the rain continues to thunderously barrage over them, not having let up at all in its strength. Walking along the trail they had originally come from, Eijun throws an arm around Sunny's shoulder so he can keep him close.

They've only known each other for less than half an hour, but Eijun has quickly developed this sense of responsibility for this guy's well-being. Sunny seems like the type who would get sick really easily—No offense! So Eijun wants to make sure he stays warm and doesn't get any more soaked from being in the rain. ]

If only we could run, then we could say that we did a homerun.

[ He remarks cheekily. ]

[ He flinches at first when he feels Eijun even closer to him, but slowly Sunny seems to melt in the hold, a very small smile forming on his lips. Eijun... was so kind and sweet. He felt undeserving of this kindness, but still took it anyway. ]

It's okay... I don't think anyone is planning to tag us out...

[ Despite the gloomy and stormy weather around them, seeing Sunny smile helps make Eijun feel better about taking this unsolicited snack trip down the road. If he hadn't, then they might not have run into each other and Eijun would've missed out on cracking these nonsensical jokes. ]

Never know what might happen!! A catcher might be waiting for us... And then what? We'd lose the game.

[ He only has a vague understanding of baseball because his older sister used to play softball until she had to quit. ]

[ It's the fact that Sunny thinks Eijun can pull off such a cool move at all that makes the pitcher beam brightly. ]

[ He gently squeezes him under his hold. ]

I'll get us that point no matter what!

[ It was still so weird how easily he got pulled into this guy's force field of friendship. One might even think the two of them had been friends for years with the way Eijun was acting with him. ]

[ Embrace the weirdness of it all! At least, that's what Eijun does all the way to the dorms. As soon as they're under a roof, Eijun lets go of his hold around the other boy so that he can close the umbrella. It's not needed any longer.]

We made it! Come on, let's go get changed.

[ He says as he takes the bag of snacks from Sunny and leads the way to his shared dorm room. ]

Actually, we should probably take a shower, huh? We might get sick if we stay like this.
