Ah, rain—the precipitation that the whole world has a love/hate affair with. It waters the garden for free and ruins baseball games. It cools you off in the summer and it causes more ice and sleet to appear in the winter. Sometimes it is lovely and falls at a decent pace for a few hours, other times, it blasts the whole eastern seaboard away.

Poems and songs have been written about it, people have danced in it, others have cursed its entire existence, and still more refuse to go out and drive in it.

Now it’s time to roll some dice and see what the weather will have in store for you today.

1. DRIZZLE ☂ It’s not too heavy or too light of a downpour, just enough to wash away stuff in the air, water the ground, and clean up the streets.

2. MONSOON ☂ It’s horrible and awful! Rain is coming down in buckets, no one can get anywhere, the wind is whipping everything about, and now the cable is out.

3. SHOWER ☂ Reminds you of early spring, doesn’t it? A nice shower to make everything all green and smell fresh again. Lovely.

4. FLOOD ☂ While rain is good, it can sometimes be bad. Grab a boat!

5. CATS & DOGS ☂ You’re lucky with this one. It’s not the worst storm in the world, but it’s still pretty heavy. Be careful when driving!

1. A DARK, STORMY NIGHT ☂ You know all those stories that start off with a stormy night before something goes wrong: a murder, an attack by ninjas, a crime. It is one of the best known clichés in the world, and you’re stuck in the middle of it.

2. HUMIDITY ☂ It’s that time of the year again when the humidity rises and the rain has two options: make it worse or make it go away. Good luck getting the latter.

5. PUDDLES ☂ After it rains, what is the number one thing you have to do? Go put on some rubber boots and splash around of course!

6. SUDDEN STORM ☂ It might have been predicted, but sometimes storms just sweep in and do their thing with little to no warning. Hope you’re not outside.

7. THUNDER & LIGHTNING ☂ Loud, surprising, scary, ominous, comforting, fantastic to watch or listen to… some like thunder and lightning, others not so much. Of course, if this happens before a big confrontation, the universe is telling you something.

8. CAN’T GET WORSE ☂ You did not say that. You did not just say that. How many times does this need to be seen in movies and books before anyone learns?

9. STUCK ☂ No, no, no, no. This cannot be happening. What happened to the ten percent chance of rain? You forgot your umbrella and now you’re stuck in it!

10. RUINED PLANS ☂ You had all these wonderful plans to go outside, have some fun in the sunshine, do some errands, maybe a date… and the weather goes against them.

11. DANCING ☂ Sometimes rain is a cause for celebration, or you just feel like doing something spontaneous. Grab someone to join you and get wet!

12. RAIN BATTLE ☂ The most intense, important battles happen in the rain. Verbal spars, punching someone in the guts; it’s all dramatic and climatic. And no one slips.

13. DATE ☂ Aww, don’t let the weather ruin your date! It can be really romantic, being out in the rain, and it’s always fun to go with the flow.

14. A DAY INSIDE ☂ Sometimes, it’s just better to stay inside and enjoy something simple and easy like board games or catching up on TV shows, or maybe the bills.

[ Taking the bag of snacks in his hands he moves in somewhat close to be underneath the umbrella. He gives Eijun this soft and warm look as he follows along. He's glad... that he was able to bump into such a nice guy.]

[ Even after spending some time in the store, the rain continues to thunderously barrage over them, not having let up at all in its strength. Walking along the trail they had originally come from, Eijun throws an arm around Sunny's shoulder so he can keep him close.

They've only known each other for less than half an hour, but Eijun has quickly developed this sense of responsibility for this guy's well-being. Sunny seems like the type who would get sick really easily—No offense! So Eijun wants to make sure he stays warm and doesn't get any more soaked from being in the rain. ]

If only we could run, then we could say that we did a homerun.

[ He remarks cheekily. ]

[ He flinches at first when he feels Eijun even closer to him, but slowly Sunny seems to melt in the hold, a very small smile forming on his lips. Eijun... was so kind and sweet. He felt undeserving of this kindness, but still took it anyway. ]

It's okay... I don't think anyone is planning to tag us out...

[ Despite the gloomy and stormy weather around them, seeing Sunny smile helps make Eijun feel better about taking this unsolicited snack trip down the road. If he hadn't, then they might not have run into each other and Eijun would've missed out on cracking these nonsensical jokes. ]

Never know what might happen!! A catcher might be waiting for us... And then what? We'd lose the game.

You'll... just have to pull off a cool move... and slide between his legs.

[ He only has a vague understanding of baseball because his older sister used to play softball until she had to quit. ]

[ It's the fact that Sunny thinks Eijun can pull off such a cool move at all that makes the pitcher beam brightly. ]

I like the way you think, Sunny.

[ He gently squeezes him under his hold. ]

I'll get us that point no matter what!

I believe in you, Eijun...

[ It was still so weird how easily he got pulled into this guy's force field of friendship. One might even think the two of them had been friends for years with the way Eijun was acting with him. ]

[ Embrace the weirdness of it all! At least, that's what Eijun does all the way to the dorms. As soon as they're under a roof, Eijun lets go of his hold around the other boy so that he can close the umbrella. It's not needed any longer.]

We made it! Come on, let's go get changed.

[ He says as he takes the bag of snacks from Sunny and leads the way to his shared dorm room. ]

Actually, we should probably take a shower, huh? We might get sick if we stay like this.

You've already been so kind.... I don't want to burden you further Eijun...

Whaddya mean?! It's not about being kind. I gotta take a shower too, y'know? And you might as well take one with me since you're more soaked than I am! Don't worry, we have a decent sized bath house here at the dorms.

Your dorm… has a bath house? That’s… so cool.

[ Some reason he just couldn’t picture it in his head but the more eijun talked about his school and dorms it just sounded so… fancy!]

Yeah! I was surprised too when I first got here, but I guess they really want to take care of us.

[ Being a powerhouse in baseball has some perks. ]

There’s nothing like this in my old school.

Your team... the baseball one.. they must really want to make sure you guys feel comfortable.

Well, we do train very hard! But I do feel very spoiled by them at times.

The spoiling... must come from how hard you work. I think anyone who puts in that much effort... deserves even a tiny treat.

Hmm, I suppose so! I think we’re also just lucky since not everyone who works hard gets treated this well.

[ Eijun makes a quick stop at a certain catcher’s dorm room, quickly dropping off the snacks for his roommate, who was too busy playing video games to even notice that he had stopped by.

Once that delivery service is done with, Eijun turns back to Sunny. ]

What about you, what do you like to do?

[ He had to hide a faint look of amusement behind his hand when Eijun dropped off the stuff. The way his roommate seemed so zoned into the game just reminded him of one of his own friends back home. ]

... me?

[ O-oh. He didn't expect to talk about himself here. He looked a little embarrassed. ]

I'm not... very athletic... I guess I like to doodle a little..?

Yes, you!

[ He's quick to reassure because, of course, they gotta talk about Sunny too. If they only talked about Eijun; number one: his head would get too big, and number two: the conversation would turn boring really quickly because all Eijun really wants to talk about all day every day is baseball.

And maybe some reviews on the latest shoujo manga he's reading sprinkled in between. ]

I feel like artistic people who say they like to doodle don't really just doodle. I bet you're really good at it! What kind of things do you like to draw?

Ah... nothing really original... I stopped for a long while so I'm only just now getting back into it so I've just been.... doodling characters from comics from when I was a kid.

Oh?! Which characters? Do you draw like Ultraman or Kamen Riders?

Ah.. characters from this old comic series I used to read as a kid. The Adventures of Captain Space Boy.
