He's gotten used to this. It's an odd thought, Wanyin on his way back to the bedroom, tray in one hand as he navigates the house, eyeing the different rooms. Not his preferred construction, but they'd taken what they could get and it did have some benefits. The bedroom door was open, as were the balcony doors, letting the air in.

He places the tray on the bed, takes a moment in the side room and the comes back, setting it over Huaisang's legs.

"...Get your ass up."

Honestly, it’s the best night’s sleep she’s had in a while; the bed is soft and she’s extremely warm. If it weren’t for the damn light, she could probably sleep off the headache.

With a soft groan, she nuzzles her face against...

Wait.

What is she snuggled up against? Her hand moves a bit, she can feel warm, bare flesh and when she dares to open her eyes...

Oh, no... No, no, no.

Just like that, she bolts upright, the covers falling away from her very bare form. The consequences are a sharp pain that feels as though it may break straight through her skull, a good few body aches and a greater awareness of the growing nausea bubbling in the back of her throat.

Worse than that, she’s in bed.

[It's a strange state of affairs for gods and their adherents to sit at the same table.

At the time, Aether had wondered, privately and to himself, what the Tsaritsa would think if she knew that her Eleventh Harbinger was sitting down to eat in the Liuli Pavilion with Zhongli, the Geo Archon, and Venti, the Anemo Archon. He hadn't voiced it as a topic of conversation at the time, of course — partly because he'd been occupied with trying rather hopelessly to teach Childe how to use his chopsticks, and also because Zhongli had pointedly introduced Venti only as a bard from Mondstadt and an old friend.

There was probably no real reason to let Childe know that Venti was Barbatos. But then, Aether thinks, the young man may be a fool in some ways, but he isn't stupid; maybe he'd already figured that out for himself. Maybe that was why, after some light conversation and chatter and wrestling with pretty little cups of Fullmoon Egg, Childe accepted when Venti correctly read his inability to refuse a competition, and challenged him to a bout of drinking.

It was all very silly, Aether thinks now, as he rises from his bed and leaves Childe still sleeping in it. Part of him suspects that the Anemo Archon was using the pretense of harmless fun as an excuse to get the Harbinger and the traveler out of the picture for the rest of the evening so that the two gods could talk for a while. About what? Celestia, maybe? The fall of Khaenri'ah, perhaps? Or was it just to discuss old, innocent memories of other gods and people they knew, long dead and gone?

It wasn't Aether's place to ask. It was his place to take Childe somewhere safe to sleep off the rest of the cassia wine after he'd fallen asleep, though. Such things usually fall to him one way or another.

So Aether settled the bill (with Childe's money, of course) and booked him into an inn room (with Childe's money, of course), figuring that it wouldn't exactly be sporting to return him to the Northland Bank for all of his subordinates to see him in a... less-than-appropriate state for their almighty Harbinger. And then, well. Of course nothing untoward happened, what with Childe in that state. If Aether settled him into bed and removed the mask clipped into his hair, it was only because he was worried Childe would roll over in his sleep and find the thing digging into his scalp. If Aether removed his jacket and his gloves and his belt, it was only because he worried that the metal bits would be uncomfortable to wake to in the morning. Childe's Vision? He did nothing to it, of course — only set it on the bedside table so that the shining blue stone would be the first thing "Tartaglia" saw when he opened his eyes.

His jacket and accoutrements are resting, folded, in a nearby chair. Aether's cape is draped over the back of it like an afterthought.

When he's awake, Childe might notice the vaguely Aether-sized indentation in the sheets beside him, and draw his own conclusions.

It's hard to tell what the Fatui leader might want to eat for breakfast. As far as Aether knows, Childe doesn't particularly like or dislike anything, but that isn't particularly helpful when he has so many recipes under his belt, and there's plenty to work with in the kitchen. For variety's sake, Aether settles on a Mondstadt-style breakfast, if only because Childe might enjoy something new after all the excellent Liyue-style meals the Harbinger has eaten in the harbor's various fine establishments. Ham, eggs — an omelet with a bit of cheese and mushroom. He substitutes the traditional pancakes in favor of more fruit and vegetables; he thinks Childe might prefer to eat food with an eye for nutrition even if he doesn't particularly think about it.

The sound of the frying eggs will probably wake Childe before Aether's soft voice does. In the kitchen, the traveler is standing over the stove; the strings of his apron look somewhat out of place, the way they're tied around the expanse of his bare lower back. At least he's covered up from the front for once.]

Childe? Are you awake?

[If not, he figures, he can eat his half of the meal and set the rest aside for Childe afterward...]
