[ well. what else did he expect. even as he's desperately clawing at haru's shirt to try to compel him to stop, he's still powerless to stop himself from laughing. ]

[Dean huffs out a laugh at Cas's choice of words.]

My demons being myself, you mean.

[He does appreciate Cas's loyalty though, that he'll stick by Dean even when he's at his lowest. Is there anything lower than being a demon? Than trying to murder your brother and your best friend for fun?

He feels sick with himself. Even if it's not entirely his fault. The Mark is his fault and therefore everything it brings with it is also his fault. He brought this on himself.

He rubs his hands over his face and through his hair again. He's awake but he still feels exhausted.]

What time is it?

[That's the one thing with living in a bunker, you never can tell what damn time it is without look at your phone or a clock and he's got neither within easy reach right now. Plus, Cas always knows what time it is in every place on earth.]

[ haru laughs a little more, shifting so he could hold reki closer. he was grateful to hear that laughter again, so dang grateful. ]

It already fled my mind.

[ haru takes care of that, and reki does the work of tangling their legs up into an inextricable knot so there's no part of them that isn't pressed close. he nuzzles right up to haru's nose, sighing happily. ]

Ah. That's the move, huh? All I gotta do is say I'll cut you off?

The hand on his forehead is a surprise; he doesn't exactly expect Jason to further contact on his own, even if he is just checking symptoms, and Tim freezes for a moment before consciously relaxing. (He does have a low-grade fever. He'd checked earlier, but it's not that bad.)

He swallows. "Been better."

"Been worse too though, I bet," he says matter of factly, because he knows. It doesn't make this any better, of course, but he wants Tim to know that he gets it. Maybe not this exactly, but that's probably best for all of them.

He doesn't miss how Tim freezes up for a moment there as well, but that's to be expected. It's not like Jason does this every day, especially not with Tim. "You don't look particularly comfortable though."

"I don't?" he asks dryly before extracting his other hand to wave vaguely over his... hidey-hole, let's say. "Behold my nest. Perfect for birds in crisis," he says, because apparently even toxin can't prevent him from mustering up the energy for a little sardony.

[ That earns him an uneasy look. Having witnessed the soul he saved from Hell be corrupted by the Mark of Cain, he doesn't see the joke in that. If Sam hadn't called him for help... he doesn't want to think about what might have happened. ]

You're not a demon, Dean.

[ He immediately corrects, mouth tightly pressed together at the suggestion that he might still be. ]

We cured you. [ A pause. ] At least for now.

[ He adds, unwilling to leave out the truth. The exchange leaves him brooding on Dean's condition and barely registers the question that follows. He doesn't have to think about it and prattles off the time - sometime in the early morning. ]

Sam is still sleeping. He'll most likely check on you when he wakes up.

[ his mouth tightens into a line as he turns thoughtful. ]

Well you don't have to worry about me getting drunk on power. Kinda not feeling the bitter housewife vibe that's giving me. I'd rather give you whatever you want, whenever you want it.

Maybe I should take on the role instead.

[ as if haru had it in him to even pretend to be bitter especially toward reki. A small smile formed on his lips as he nuzzled close to him, placing soft kisses right at the corner of both of his eyes. ]

[ reki's snickering under all this attention. ]

That'd never work. I'd just make any face at all and you'd be like, "Ahhh, Reki is so cute..."

[She grabs her towel, which she had set nearby.]

[ Haru smiled softly when he noticed her head leaning against him. He knew better than to point it out, because Rin got so shy about showing her affection, even when it was just the two of them in the room. Slowly he shifted so he could slip an arm around her waist as he flipped the page to some magazine he was checking out with her. ]

[Dean knows he's not a Demon right now. He knows what that feels like, which is a weird thing to know. Like it's weird to know what Hell smells like and what Purgatory sounds like. He knows what it's like to see the world through those black eyes (not black, it turns out).

He also knows with the Mark on his arm, the "cure" is temporary.]

Course he will.

[Dean's sure Sam will barely let him out of his sight or Cas's sight until the Mark is gone (if it ever is).

Speaking of, a searing pain suddenly shoots through his forearm and seemingly right between his eyes. He grunts and squeezes his eyes shut as he holds on to his arm, gritting his teeth at the onslaught of what feels like pure hate and anger.]

Fuck.

[ Well, if he was gonna be kicked out, it probably would've happened already. Gar licks his lips and looks up. His hand brushes over Jason's stomach at the same time. ]

I don't know. Like if you thought it was a mistake.

[ He hasn't moved, though. In fact if anything, he shifts a bit closer. He doesn't say anything about the cigarettes. ]

But, I liked it. I didn't really mean to sleep over, but...

[ He smiles, then. ] I don't know, man, I guess you're comfy.

"You don't like change," Wylan stated rather than questioned because he had picked up on it over the time he knew Jesper. "Things always have to change. Can't really stop that unless you stop moving yourself." His life had never been too constant before knowing Jesper and the others. Outside of being a disappointment, obviously, and never doing anything right. His father's negative voice lingered often in his mind but he tried to ignore it as best as he could. "You're only focusing on the bad things. Think about all the things we've gained. The ways we've won."

Blushing hotly, he shook at his head. Why did he ever open his mouth? It would seem so stupid and Jesper would laugh at him. He didn't mind if people laughed WITH him but being laughed AT always hurt even if he never said so. "Uh - um - well - some people find it comforting to lay with someone?" he offered, softly, looking anywhere but at Jesper now. "Listening to someone's heartbeat I think. It kinda matches yours with theirs."

Which is ridiculous, really, when he thinks about it, because he feels the most alive when everything is completely uncertain, risk in every direction. Middle of a fight that he has no certainty that he'll come out living; watching Makker's Wheel spin and having no clue if he's about to hit that big win or not. The thrill is the same, and he lives for it, craves it. But somehow, it's just different with the changes they've had within the Crows lately.

"The losses are so much bigger, Wy... Matthias is dead... Nina and Inej are leaving... that's half of us, all at once, and I don't know when I'll ever see the girls again. Nina might just go home to Ravka and decide to stay forever. Inej will be traipsing all about wherever her leads on the slavers take her..." Hadn't he been trying not to talk about it all a second ago? He's bad at that.

"You can just say so if you want to cuddle, merchling." But there's no real mockery in his voice, just the tilted smile on his lips as he considers the idea. His voice is softer with his next words, genuine in a way that Jesper struggles to be, beyond the facetious, ever-joking presentation he gives the world. "I'd try it... if you're offering."
