(You are HIGHLY encouraged to write at least a little bit about what role you think your character would have. Maybe toss out some scene ideas. It's not entirely necessary, though it makes things easier.)

[A Jedi Knight who is infamous among the order for having spent several years going rogue as he rampaged across the Outer Rim with his sister on a two Jedi rampage against slavers as they both fell deeper and deeper into the grip of the Dark Side. Eventually, Jaika had a moment of clarity and decided to pull out, while his sister went deeper and became a Sith Lord. The resulting duel caused an explosion that left him permanently blinded.

He's spent the last few years trying to fit back in with the Jedi Order, but the fact is that most other Jedi don't trust him anymore, and that despite everything he DOES still have a lot of anger in him at what he sees as the failings of the Order. He keeps this hidden beside of a façade of polite sarcasm and cheesy blind jokes.

And yes, I promise I came up with this character concept BEFORE I watched Rebels.

There was no denying it. Cobb had ignored the feeling in the back of his mind for weeks but it never faded. In fact, it seemed to grow more steady. It almost settled. Someone powerful in the Force had come to Nevarro.

He locked up his shop for the night but instead of walking home he followed the pull to a cantina on the other side of town. He usually liked the one where the bounty hunter guild did business. He could keep up with galactic news that way.

This one was far from it. Almost like a deliberate choice. When he walked in there was nothing unusual about the cantina but the pull brought him to the bar. He sat down at the far end and waited.

He imagined it wouldn't take long for the other Force sensitive to find their way over.

[An experienced officer of the Republic navy who was starting to be gently encouraged to consider retirement, Avanti Kadam took to the fall of the Republic by gleefully taking her entire ship and crew and going rogue as a space pirate.

The cool kind of space pirates, though. Not the kinds that murder innocent people, the kind of that strike at Imperial supply convoys from deadly asteroid fields and strike fear into the hearts of Star Destroyer captains everywhere, but are surprisingly kind when the stumble upon civilians, even if they deny it later.

Kadam needs a crew of quirky misfits who were all too eager to turn on the Empire with her, though. As a person, she's a bit distant, equally at home at a high class party as she is in the heat of battle, an aggressive and unpredictable commander, and also a raging lesbian with a long history of broken hearts she's left behind her. In her early 50s. Has an eyepatch.]

Brianna drummed her manicured nails on the bar top, eyeing the clock. The bar was empty, save for a few of her people milling about; flash a few rifles, and credits to the owner of the place, and people cleared out real quick. She had a meeting too curious, too closely tied to the big names in the war, to have in her own territory. If things went sideways real bad, she preferred the mess to happen somewhere she wouldn't have to clean up.

She didn't particularly care about the First Order. Or the Resistance, if she were being perfectly frank. War was war. Side A versus Side B for any of a hundred reasons, and plenty of people roped in for their own reasons. The latter was the category she fell into. Where she was determined to stay, too. It could be dangerous for someone in her line of work to pick sides, a danger that was wholly different from the varieties that came naturally with skirting (or breaking) laws and trying to thrive in the seedy underbelly of the galaxy that had more to do with greasing the wheels of life than "proper civilization" liked to admit.

Yeah, she had family ties to things. Sure, she maybe sometimes cut a little better of a deal for those who were putting goods and supplies in the hands of the side she happened to have family on. That was business too, though. Some of those traders and smugglers also handled or had access to goods that were of no value to anyone's war effort but plenty of value to her own operations. And family or not, she never gave anything away for free. There was always a price. Someone didn't want to pay it? That was just fine, because another buyer could always be found. Plenty of enemies for both sides of the war, and all the little civil wars and territory scrabbles that played out on a regular basis which had jack all to do with anyone's big war.

Personally she didn't want to be here but insistence — and the potential of a rather large profit — had worn down her reluctance. She just didn't like getting too closely involved in the war dealings. Again, picking sides; rumors could do plenty of damage all on their own. Her Second had gotten the impression that the shifty First Order officer they'd been dealing to wanted to negotiate his own cut of profits, a finder's fee of sorts, so Brianna had grumbled but agreed to talk with the stuffed shirt. At a neutral location. And with the warning that if she caught a whiff of a battleship she was gone and so was any deal currently on the books.

"Signs of activity, boss."

Her tapping stopped and she spun around on the barstool. "It's about fuckin' time." It was technically only a few minutes after the arranged time, and she had been well early to make sure everything was clean and clear, but this whole thing had her slightly on edge. She'd woken up that morning with a feeling and she wouldn't be able to relax until the clock ticked over to the next day without incident.

Striding up to one of the covered windows, she leaned down to steal a glance through the dusty slats.

"I thought you said this meeting was with an officer."

"I did,"

Brianna turned around to shoot her second-in-command a look and gestured to the window. "Does that look like an officer to you? That's the kriffin' head of the whole damn thing."

As the man had a look for himself Brianna walked over to the bar, reaching behind it for the nearest bottle of whiskey and taking a quick swig. This, this was not what she needed. Was it a set-up? Nah, they would have rained down fire already. Her senses also weren't screaming at her like they tended to when she was in immediate life-threatening danger.

But she did not like the sight of a command shuttle and a woman in black who could only be the Empress.

She had heard the woman was crazy. Well, crazy didn't mean much in her book and with the circles she had taken to moving through. There were plenty of crazy warlords out in the galaxy. Hell, some people said she was crazy too — "Solo's kid snapped and damn near slaughtered a whole syndicate on her lonesome" — and maybe she was, maybe a person couldn't be born with the Force and have the kind of power she did without being a little off in the head. But she was alive, and not a fancy weapon in robes for anyone's side, she was her own side, and that was what mattered most to her.

She had heard the woman killed Snoke in cold blood, too. That part Brianna didn't mind. Might even thank her for — in private, if Brianna was certain the knowledge wouldn't get used against her later. It was rather nice to be finally free of the stabbing headaches caused by that disgusting creature trying to claw past her mental defenses.

Brianna reached up to touch the amulet around her neck, gripping it a moment before tucking it under her shirt. That little trinket she stumbled across years ago had kept her mind hers and hers alone; kept her from seeing anyone else's too, made her use a little extra effort sometimes to exert her power, but it was a fair trade-off for keeping Snoke and anyone else out of her head.

Her gaze swept the interior before making a decision, straightening her slim black leather jacket and adjusting the blaster on her hip as she headed for the door.

"Boss?"

"Stay here, and stay alert. Anyone starts tryin' to be sneaky, you let me know."

"Aye," As one of the handful of survivors from that previously-mentioned syndicate and the incident that had earned the young Solo a reputation very separate from any of her family, he had enough sense not to question too much in moments like these.

Brianna pushed open the door and strode out without a hitch in her step, wanting to meet the unexpected guest out in the relative open, just in case. She was tempted to glance skyward, looking for a silhouette of more problematic ships, but didn't take her eyes off the approaching woman. "Well, I must say this is a surprise. To what do I owe the privilege... Empress?" Her tone was light, polite, more evidence of her well-educated upbringing than she sometimes spoke with depending on the company. "I heard that's the title you prefer. If I've misspoke, my apologies." Some might have said such in jest or mocking, but Brianna was deadly sincere. That sort of thing she understood better than some might think.
