The concept of “speaking” might be qualified as post-verbal these days. Do you! Heck, do you so much that you can even put your dialogue line in your top-level comment to make it all the more enticing.

→ They'll give your their character's response. Replies back and forth should be one line...ish of dialogue each. First to dip into their feelings, popping out paragraphs and prose descriptions loses wins receives a lovely consolation prize of a dinette set!

[It's dark when Zack says it. Trying to chase away bad dreams and memories so they can get some decent rest. But sleep is sometimes hard to come by. For both of them, especially when things feel particularly lonely or thoughts get dark and heavy.

But he almost sounds amused when he says it too. Sappy and a little sad. Maybe it'll make Cloud annoyed or crack a faint smile. Who knows.]

Don’t think about anything. Just tell me that you love me and hold me tighter.

[ It is very cheesy, but it's also very Zack. And the request is easy enough anyway. Cloud does crack a small smile and he wraps his arms a little tighter around Zack. ]

Love you. [ He murmurs the words, his forehead pressing against Zack's. ]

[It hits him right in the heart. He grins and lets out a laugh and ends up scooping his arms roughly around Cloud in return.]

I could hear that a million time and still not get tired of it.

[ It should be illegal to be this cute. He presses his face to Zack's neck to hide the embarrassing blush that paints his cheeks. ]

Well, I'm not going to say it a million times.

Yeah? And why not? What do I gotta do to make you say it all the time? Don't hold out on me!

[Ruffling his hand up in that spiky blond hair!]

Do you know how many times I'd have to say it to make it a million? That's way too much.

[ Well, he doesn't know the exact math, but it would definitely be a lot. It's not like Zack doesn't deserve to hear it though. Cloud is just painfully awkward sometimes. ]

[Zack decides to give Cloud a rather rough little nuzzle against the side of his head.]

Guess that means I just gotta stick around long enough to hear it that many times.

[In it for the long shot!!]

[ Zack, you can't just say stuff like that!! Cloud's cheeks immediately flush red again. ]

You're so embarrassing.

[ But there's unmistakable fondness in his voice, and his arms tighten a little around Zack. He's happy. ]

Yeah, I know what I'm about.

[He grins into Cloud's blond locks.]

But you're stuck with me, aren't you.

Oh no. Someone save me.

[ He deadpans, but he can't keep a smile off of his face. There's no one he'd rather be stuck with than Zack.

He puts a hand on Zack's scarred cheek, pulling away a little so he can look at his face, his expression turning a little more serious for a moment. ]

I really do love you, you know. [ As embarrassed as he can get about saying such things, or really, any romantic gestures, he wants Zack to know how much he does mean it. ]

[The small movement and gesture have Zack's eyes widening slightly. Watching the expression on Cloud's face change as he touches his cheek. Cloud's face has matured over the last couple of years. Zack notes, all that boyishness from when he first met him is almost all gone. Still cute to boot, though.

His heart warms and Zack smiles bigger.]

Yeah, I know. [He leans closer, lips almost stealing a kiss.] I've loved you for way too long, so thanks for noticing.

[ Zack's face has matured too, but that smile is just like it's always been. What had made the butterflies in Cloud's stomach start to flutter in the first place all those years ago. Every time it had been directed at him he'd just fallen more in love with him. That still feels true. ]

Mm, you wanna get into who has loved who the longest? [ He teases, but with Zack's face so close he can't resist closing the gap between their lips. The kiss is soft, but he lets it linger. ]
