Mostly canonblind but it could be fun to put him with this human mage? Maybe with her he won't have to die later??

I was thinking option 3. Maybe she is lost [as she is prone to do] and she finds him while wandering into sensitive territory or asks pertinent questions?

[ The first time he felt it, Kaoru had been surprised. A little offended, maybe? Not that Kojiro doesn't need a soulmate, or that it shouldn't be Kaoru, but it felt like stripping of him of his right to let Kojiro suffer from his own stupidity sometimes. How would he learn anything after doing impulsive stunts if Kaoru healed the consequences just by being near him?

With age, not much has changed. Kojiro is still reckless and Kaoru is still pretending to be reluctant in getting close until he agrees to like, at least consider trying to have some inkling of common sense. Sorry you ate shit at the skate park, babe. ]
